Am I the only one who feels that players are being paid way to much in the NPL. Rego fees could be halved, virtually overnight, giving more boys and girls a chance if there was a more realistic pay scale. In regards to the touted Bleague or 2nd division is there a chance, that an NPL club, wanting join, would raise rego fees to help fund that ambition?

You can blame association backed clubs like the Blacktown Spartans who started the whole mass spending spree in 2014. Before then $1000 bucks was seen as the big thing, seems like now every AVERAGE player with a few a-league caps demands that as a flat rate not to mention players who have been rumoured to be on $2000+. Really makes you shake your head, but credit to the players take it and run.

+x+x+x+x+xBlake Powell and Johnathon Grozdanovski to Sharks Panny Nikas to North Shore Mariners Add Peter Simonoski to that list. and possibly Josh Macdonald to sharks as well. Pipe King opening up the chequebook... barely 2 weeks since the season done and already some big moves. Sounds like one hell of a silly season coming up with no club championship next season, the sharks wont have 18s and 20s to save them next season, so the spending spree begins, everyone would be looking to avoid relegation. but the money i heard they are offering Simonoski is just ridiculous lol MCDONALD, POWELL, GROZDANOVSKI, SIMONOSKI, NORVAL, BRAD WALKER to Sharks. ND offering ridiculous coin to sign players. COX to APIA RAUL, BALDERSON to Olympic NIKAS, PRODANOVIC to NS Mariners PASFIELD likely to leave wolves. Damir Prodanovic ? best mates with Nikas. Isnt a bad player but didnt know he was still playing, where was he before ?

thats going to be some traveling for southern sydney teams playing Jets....... I suppose having done those hauls to Bathurst/Orange/Lithgow playing Mariners and prior Southern Branch during my boys days not much different, you just do it. Hopefully the Newcastle officials are better than those sub standard ones we've encountered. Anyone got any goss whats doing around the clubs in PL2 ? Spartans and the like.

Paul Hubbard's out @ Spartans. Walked before the Saints game because they wouldn't let him play 15/16 year olds to cover injured players

Wollongong Wolves national NPL Champions 4-3 over Lions FC.
You know for all of the whining about a second division this "champions of champions " tournament for NPL clubs is just as good yet nothing has been said about it at all.

correct and agree...... What did the FFA do apart from myself checking the FNSW website. There should more support in this section as well. At least our NSW thread gets some traction but the others are dead, real shame.

+xFabio Ferreria to Sydney Olympic as well. NPL is about his level tbh. How he's had a professional career for as long as he has seriously bewilders me, but also highlights the problematic recycling of s*** players that goes on at A-League level.

What a blast from the past. Not since the Northern Spirit has North Sydney Oval been used as a teams main home ground. Just saw this on NPL NSW's website. Looks confirmed that home games will be at North Sydney Oval. https://mens.nplnsw.com.au/clubs/north-shore-mariners-fc/

sure is blast from the past, was a Spirit supporter and loved going to Percys across the road for pre game feed and beverage. A logical solution knowing the grounds all over the north shore/beachs. Always found the ground surface was damp mind you so any rain games will be cancelled I'm guessing - try and find out what your backup plan is regards this ?

Also highlights the gulf between NSWPL & the A League. Jordan Murray a prime example at the moment.

They’ve played a lot of games at valentines sports park Northbridge due to Northbridge oval being unavailable so could always go there I assume. However a a lot of money has been put into NSO drainage in recent years to ensure it stays up to date for big international or domestic matches (ie: one day womens cricket and women’s state of origin) so hoping that should be sorted. Percys still a great place - regularly packed before a north Sydney bears game still.

North Sydney Oval would be a good day out, easy to get to with pubs close by, I think it’s a good move by North Shore. Looking forward to our game there.

I've been keeping an eye on JM since his move for I watched alot of his APIA games prior. Last season most of the service was rubbish he received, also many times from the bench, hard to get your mojo going when your under the pump and your midfield is ordinary and its pretty much counter attack football. Hopefully he gets a better season ahead by the look of CCM this year.

+xWow North Sydney Oval. Have not watched football there in a long, long time. It would be one of the smallest oval stadiums in Australia so view from the stands will still be good.
