Arnold was an angry man at his press conference. He had a prepared statement for questions relating to behaviour on the last Olyroos camp by  four players that he had selected.

Socceroos coach Graham Arnold says he is not responsible for the actions of four Australian under-23 players who are being investigated by the FFA following an incident in Cambodia earlier this year that happened under his watch.

The Olyroos were in Phnom Penh at the end of March playing in a qualifying tournament for next year's Olympics and a complaint was made against the players regarding the final night of their trip.

"Sometimes people take their own responsibility," said Graham, when asked if he felt responsible for the unspecified incident.The players involved are Lachlan Wales, Nathaniel Atkinson, Brandon Wilson and Riley McGree, who have been asked to "show cause" to the FFA for their alleged behaviour.It means the players now have the opportunity to explain their actions to the governing body.

The FFA said the reason the independent investigation took so long to complete was due to its "complexity".Despite the show cause notices being issued by the board on October 3, the FFA did not confirm the investigation until after an ABC report was published on Wednesday morning.

 Arnold was the Olyroos coach at the time but would not confirm if he was out with players on the night of the incident."In March this year I travelled to Cambodia as the head coach of the under-23 national team. After returning to Australia I was made aware of a complaint against some of our players after an incident on the final night of our stay,"

Arnold read in a statement."The alleged misbehaviour has been the subject of a thorough investigation. I have always and always will make it very clear to my staff and my players of my expectations of them in camp. They are the public face of football in this country and abroad and with that comes added responsibility."We now need to ensure the individuals concerned are given the opportunity to participate in a fair process as required under the FFA's disciplinary regulations."

McGree is the captain on the Olyroos and recently signed a three-year contract with Adelaide United.

So Arnold has confirmed souttar is starting. That leaves 10 other players. 

I'd give starts to Langerak, Smith, Hrustic and Taggart. 

Would be a great result and a huge load off for us, but we can't count on Jordan dropping points at all, let alone at home.

Jordan have only lost one home WCQ (a dead rubber against Iraq) since South Korea beat them in 2008.

Have there been any rumours or announcements regarding the venues for the last 3 WCQ in this stage of qualifying?

26 March vs Kuwait
4 June vs Taiwan
9 June vs Jordan

The Nepal game on October 10 was announced for Canberra just over two months earlier on August 2nd, so I wouldn't expect any announcements until after new year's. The FFA is probably holding off to see what chances the June games have of being decisive before finalising those hosting deals.

They could have the Taiwan game at Hindmarsh as they're aren't a 'big' opponent.  

Would love to see one of the games at BankWest stadium. It’s a gorgeous venue.

A very valuable window it has been. Souttar and Smith are definitely in their element and our strikers are warming up. All will need to go to another level against Jordan and beyond. Hrustic is very steady on the ball and Jeggo is a great engine. Irvine has matured nicely. The loser of the window is undoubtedly Borrello.

I don't see the point in bringing a starting A League keeper over. Do we have anyone in Europe besides Federici? My true 3 is now Birighitti.

Sainsbury only if fit. Jurman should be ahead of Wright now. Susnjar needs that chance soon. Milligan is going to hang a bit.

Amini will get picked but it's getting very tight for slots. Rogic probably still isn't ready.

Ikon definitely needs a recall to get another crack at Jordan. I've included Borrello and Goodwin as Arzani and Boyle are still not 100%.

That's a tough one, great engine, gets into good position to receive the ball upfield, nice passing & a good addition to attacking build up at the edge of the box but the lad just isn't a defender at all.  His marking for the goal we conceded was terrible.   

You forgot to mention his mullet. I’d argue its an important trait that contributes to his speed and work rate.

i like this squad - if you account for the players out injured. possibly the best since the squad that holger squandered. 

we need a bit more depth in CB.  really lucky to have degenek standing up this year and souttar coming in. it's a shame jedinak didn't own the position while he was at AV.

also, if you look at where behich, smith, gersbach have been playing it makes me wonder why no one has picked up grant.

Why don't the FFA try and organise a friendly in Europe? Most of the team are based there.

I reckon the Jordan match on June 9 would be ideal at Bankwest as it doubles as the farewell match before the 2020 Copa America opener a few days later and would be the best option logistics wise.

Not with the FFA looking for money so will be at ANZ

Being rebuilt in July next year, so a double farewell match might be on the cards.

Would prefer a full house at BankWest over 35 plus at ANZ myself.

State of Origin game 1 is in Adelaide on June 3, could be a big week if sport if they also get one of the last 2 WCQ.

Probably too late now. Playing a South American side in London or wherever would be good, players would be tired though.
Japan play away in Kyrgyzstan then head back home to face Venezuela.

Should be a fair few European teams available that window given that the Euro qualifiers are over by then, unless I'm missing something. 

European Qualifiers finish with a double matchday in November.

Teams in the five groups of 5 will have the bye on the 2nd WCQ match day but the best of those 5 teams are Croatia and Georgia who have organised a friendly between themselves on that date.

Playing Saudi, Iran or China in the ME after they have played in nearby qualifiers might have been another option but I reckon South American opposition would have been ideal if any of them were free given next year's Copa America.
