+xLet’s be honest real crowd no more than 4K in Geelong. Stop talking crap. Given that I was at the game, I actually got to see how May were there, not what you presumed with your biased wisdom to be the case. Crowd was well and truly 7k+. A good mix of city and WU fans at the game and a very good atmosphere.

There were people in all parts of the ground but it appears that GA seating was different this week than last weeks game. First half was hard to see much with the sun in the crowds eyes but it got better.

I don't understand why they just don't move the pitch as close as possible to one side and jam everyone into one wing and the ends. Would make for much better optics.

That picture doesn’t show the second tier which had quite a few spectators (it’s GA so most sit there)

Common sense is something you can't teach. You either have it or you don't. Just by looking at that picture I'll say it'll be a miracle if Western United can continue to get crowds of over 6k in that depressing shit hole of a stadium. If they really insist on playing there, then as you say they should just move the field as close as possible to one side and make it as best as they can for those attending.

I'm not sure if they still do it but at the MCG the pitch was moved away from the centre of the pitch to get better images for TV. To get the best images they had to move the pitch away from the broadcast side.

The stadium holds 36000 and it looked about 20% full, which would equate to 7200, so crowd figure sounds legit. Just looks terrible.

+x+xover 60k in attendances for the round how does this compare to R3 last season? It was up about 19k on last season but after 3 rounds the total is down by 13k.

I'm happy to accept that WU got 7k. Realistically, apart from games against Victory, that might well be the ceiling for the rest of the season, which is probably where most of us expected it to land.

Most of us, but not the FFA, Foxsports, WU, ABC, advertisers, sponsors, investors, those who have to spend $180m on a venue, and those who missed out on the bid And I cant imagine what will have changed when we negotiate the next TV deal unless the next Sydney team can really turn things around WU have been nothing short of a disaster, and I dont doubt the lopsided fixtures, byes and other garbage have had some part to play in only 4/11 teams posting attendances higher than a benchmark set 15 years ago You might be happy. I find the whole ordeal another stunt in this ongoing circus

Western United should have played a few games in Melbourne's west at the Ted Whitten oval or Melbourne Knights stadium.

+x+xI personally found the decision to run with WU this season so bewildering that I have no option but to wonder about moneys changing hands in less than scrupulous ways. Actually I shouldn't have said that. Wasnt being serious and one should be careful about whatever one writes in public. Mods can you please take this post down? My phone doesn't display a delete function. Probably not the sort of thing you state publicly, but I doubt you are alone in wondering.

FMD! Poeple are actually going to watch soccer in that stoopid stadium? I reckon they are getting creative with the books.
