Ok 101, we'll make you a 'guest' fan for the finals if you like. All you need to do is have a love/hate relationship with the team, pick one player you hate, have a million opinions about who should play at the front, despise the 4-5-1 system - and put together at least 45 versions of your favourite line-up. can you manage that?

Guys, how many fans you likely to get for the home leg of the final?

How many do you think you will bring to Melbourne?

Come on Stephen, we all want to be in Viddie's shoes without having to suffer the consequences. I am currently getting my management fix from Hattrick though...

Home leg should be a full house.

Away leg, not sure... couple of hundred if we are lucky - I aint part of the 'official' supporter group so dont' know (I would go but for the previously mentioned gravitas wife who would kill me if I went, if she could waddle fast enough ;))

Agreed home leg should be sell out. Trying to establish how many you guys will have and how many 'we' are likely to be allocated.

Just booked my ticket for Hindmarsh and the chick said they had just released another bunch for Victory and that they were selling very quick.

No from the 60th minute. Would change Salley for Sarkies, then Ago for Cristiano, then Younis for Alamao over the course of about 15 minutes. Would depend on who was starting to flag first really.

Of course the first change could always be Salley off and Alamao on  just to signal a totally attacking intent for the last half hour, MV wouldn't know what was happening with AUFC playing half the team in their half!

Given your record over our last 9 meetings - it's worth a try!

What about rekindling the line-up from the 2nd meeting last season - you know the one - I don't need to remind you!

All I can remember is that it was a 4-1-4-1 formation with Pantelis on the left and Dodd on the right (nothing novel there), with Salley in the holding role. I can't remember who was the lone striker - it might have been someone long gone - can't remember his name.

Viddie's shoes would be getting sweaty I think. I'd love to manage the team. I'd last a week I reckon. But I'm feeling very positive about the finals. I even say so in my blog, which seems to have dissappeared in the 442 ether. Mind you, I only sent it in yesterday.....

Dez Giraldi!! Which just goes to show that Melbourne always lose against teams that are worse than them! Unbelievable.

General, you've broken the code. Viddie just has to put his worst eleven on the pitch and we're a shoe-in for the finals games against Melbourne. They'll proably score all our goals for us. The we can play our rested best eleven in the Grand Final.

It's a miracle!

Our season fell off the rails after Beltrame got hurt the following week against the Nix...

As for that game (the 4-1 v Victory), I thought we battled really hard with 10 men for the first hour. Once Giraldi got subbed, and we were back to having the full quota, we controlled the game a bit more lol. Incidentally, does anyone remember Dez being subbed in that game (after turning in arguably the worst individual performance in AUFC history) and beating his heart with his fist twice, and giving the main stand a ¨peace out¨sign. The first time I have heard an entire stand burst into spontaneous laughter at a player.

Also, I`m going to go back and update my player movement post on page 1 of the thread. I`m in Europe at the moment so obviuosly it`s not easy to keep up with the news, but if there`s anything I miss, post it and I`ll update further when I have the chance.

Peace out

On another note, now that AUFC have officially affiliated themselves with Chinese Super League club Shandong Luneng, I seriously hope they consider bringing some more Chinese talent over here to our club. We all saw what happened when Shengqing Qu was part of the club... :D

My head's spinning even thinking about it so I'll leave it to Viddie (in whom we trust).

Honestly, I don't think there's a player who wouldn't be up for this one at home. Next week we'll need the brave ones to front up at the Dome and silence the MV fans. I'd like to see us come out of this week with a couple of goals more than MV - and then go the Melbourne and ATTACK.

I reckon Jamo's right about controlling the midfield. Our defence is strong; despite the constant jibes we CAN score; it's just a matter of making sure the opposition get frustrated.

I'll be in Cairo for game two. A city one hell of a lot bigger than Melbourne and the home of the African champions, a team we beat. I'm sure it's a sign.

I'm really sure......really.....

Midfield is what lets us down. Whenever we have a flat midfield the entire team falls in a heap (other than defence). We have missed consistancy there the whole year. I want Viddie and Stubbins to concentrate on the midfields link up play with the defence and our forward((s) is to much to ask really) and also to emphasise their role as the first line of defence and offence in the team. Too often our midfield is either doing one or the other and they need to do both.

The thing about football - the important thing about football - is its not just about football.
