Always struck me as odd that Azani, a sub in the world cup, knew he was heading to Europe after it.

He turned up at Celtic so unfit he had to wait until Oct or Nov for a 1st team chance.

What does that say to you? He should have been super fit, aiming to start playing first trsm football un july or august.

Listen to every commentator in his 15 ALeague games and they all talk about his lack of tactical awareness and his ability to last 90 minutes. I reckon demands on a 19 year old Celtic player, potentially 60 games a year are a bit heavier than his few A League minutes.

Proof? Look at Rogics 90 minute completions for Celtic, and he rarely cracks 30 games a season.

Azani it's said is highly intelligent. So why did he turn up so unfit, and why was he unable to crack Celtic team for so long.

Ain't Celtic fault, but 15 min party pieces at a world cup tells me he wasn't really ready was he, or else Bert would have played him 3 x 90 mins.

Something is missing in this story. Azani has the answer. Why did he turn up so out of shape? Why is he still not fit enough to get on the Celtic bench once?
If he was killing it at Celtic Lennon would play him. After all Eduard, Johnston, Morgan, Sved, all very young blokes who get many varying  minutes in the strongest and biggest Celtic squad for years.

Oh please, your such a dick!
Trying to blame Arzani like he isn’t tactically aware and that he was unfit when arriving at Celtic.

he wasn’t unfit, Rodgers just made the kid earn a spot!
Made him train the house down before giving him a game!
It is Celtic they don’t just give games to anyone!
It’s that simple!!
He is a smart kid and his time at Celtic well ruined by the injury he would have at least experienced how a big professional club works and what is now expected of him!

BalinTrev seems Arzani isnt fit for the Olyroos who are in China but you seem to think he should be in the Celtic lineup. Maybe both coaching staff know a lot more than you.

You seem downright happy that he’s not playing, which is just weird. I can understand these Celtic tragics defending their club at any cost, but I would have thought the rest of us who care about our national team have a good reason to be concerned that he’s just not even being given a chance. He’s too good to rot in bloody Scotland. It’s ridiculous to defend  Celtic in this situation. They’ve shafted Arzani big time.

ARZANI AIMS FOR BOXING DAY DERBY

Socceroos starlet Daniel Arzani is still more than a month away from returning to action for Scottish giants Celtic.

The 2018 World Cup bolter, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his senior debut against Dundee in October last year, appears to have suffered a small setback in his bid to return to the pitch.

Arzani, who returned for Celtic’s reserves off the bench in September and was part of an Olyroos training camp in October, is hoping to be available for the hectic December schedule.

It includes four games in 11 days, starting with the trip to Hearts and ending with the Old Firm derby at Celtic Park on Boxing Day, which looms as arguably the biggest since Rangers went into liquidation and were relegated in 2011-12, paving the way for Celtic to win the next seven titles to draw to within four of Celtic (54 to 50).

Surely if Arzani was good enough he'd be playing. If he ain't, then he must not be doing enough at training, or the players they have are better than him.

Aussies commenting and sulking on something they have very little knowledge over, sounds familiar. Arzani got shafted because he had to work his way into the team under Rodgers? and then when he got the opportunity gets injured ? Yes shafted big time. I'm sure your thoughts would be the same if he was playing for some mid table club in the championship......not. Wise up fella  🤡

So in short, he is still about a month away from a full recovery/reaching the fitness levels needed for a return. Sounds about right for someone recovering from an ACL injury.

He got shit luck getting injured like he did and he's gonna have to go out on a different loan to get any meaningful playtime once he's ready to go again.

Can't blame Celtic for not playing him. He's only played around 25 professional club games and is coming back from a horrible injury. He's shown plenty of skill of course but it's not like he's set the world on fire. He's a great young prospect who definitely could have a great career with the national team. However I do feel a lot of people overate him and are setting themselves up for dissapointment in thinking he's better then he is.

Plenty of promising young players have just faded into nothing over the years. So I'm not gonna hold my breath until he can prove himself.

Nah i have just been watching Celtic play in almost every match Rogic has played in and read their forums while listening to podcasts for Rogic and Arzani content. You tend to get a idea of the Celtic fc squad situation. Those that are having a whinge here should do some research for themselves.

Young guys recovery is better than older person's as well. He should be healing quite well and the extra time to fitness should bode well for a good come back to football.

Fingers crossed

Celtic want to extend his loan spell - he’s been out of action due to patella tendonitis - aiming to be back for Boxing Day.

https://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/vote-of-confidence-for-arzani-as-celtic-bid-to-extend-loan-deal

Patellar tendonitis comes from repetitive stress on the knee, most often from overuse in sports or exercise. The repetitive stress on the knee creates tiny tears in the tendon that, over time, inflame and weaken the tendon.

Contributing factors can be:

tight leg muscles
uneven leg muscle strength
misaligned feet, ankles, and legs
obesity
shoes without enough padding
hard playing surfaces
chronic diseases that weaken the tendon

What’s a typical treatment plan?
Treatment depends on the severity of your injury.

Conservative measures to reduce pain, rest your leg, and stretch and strengthen your leg muscles are generally the first line of treatment. Your doctor will usually advise a period of controlled rest, where you avoid activity that puts force on the knee. (wonder which knee/leg)

Bullshit logic. Players need a chance to prove themselves

Exactly i HATE when ppl use this logic!! Taken to an extreme this would mean that all current playets should stay exactly where they are because 'thats their level' and all the players at the top leagues/clubs are all the best players in the world.

As evidenced by borello with the roos this logic is bogus, ikon is a superior player even though hes only a league level

So I rekcon that the knee Arzani has overused is the one his good side. Would make no sense that he's overused a knee that he's not been able to fully use.

That would be a better situation by far. He'll still be able to exercise and put some force on his ACL side. Rather than having to sit around and not use that leg.

His body was barely ready for senior football in the A-League. He was great in his small number of games but he also died in the arse by the 60-70th min mark to the point where I recall him being helped off the field he was so crippled by cramp on a couple of occasions. To think he could’ve transitioned to European football so quickly was absurd. Rogers knew that when he got to Celtic hence why he took some time to make his debut. Unfortunately the ACL went and that threw everything out the window.

He needs to come back to the A-League, be the big fish again and work on just getting game time. Fatigue is a major contributor to injury/re-injury so considering his history getting minutes in his legs is crucial.
