Catch any 15 bus ie. 151 157 or whatever to go straight past entertainment centre.
Conversely catch a 287 and get off at stop 5. Will stop one street back from the torrens...bout a 5 min walk to the stadium.

[quote=Davide82]I JUST READ IN THE PAPER THE LIKELY LINE UP SHOWS HUGHES PANTS AND ALEMAO ALL DROPPED FOR REID BARBS AND JAMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![quote]
Please let this be true... [-o<

I like Alemao but I'm guessing his time will be up at the end of this season. Cassio seems to be the only safe VISA player at the moment.

Hopefully we'll see Owusu and Cristiano paired up front, but I doubt it.

Judging by this, I'd say they go with:

Galekovic
Fyfe - Rudan - Cornthwaite - Jamieson (knowing Viddie)
Reid
Barbiero - Cassio
Sarkies
Dodd - Leckie

Bench: Birighitti, Cristiano, Pantelis, Hughes

Obviously that's not my ideal lineup, but with things as they are, I think that's the most likely formation from the Reds tonight.

So if I wanted to sit with you guys tonight, what am I looking for? Stephen and his crutches again? General admission, centre line, about mid way up the bleachers? :p

I think so... I will be there and looking to hook up with Stephen as I will be on my own once again... I think I posted a picture of myself a few pages back... Are we still meant to look for an asian (as far as I can recall) dude with Owusu on his back RU?

Oh! And I think Stephen is off the crutches...

BTW if Hughes, Pants and Alemao are all dropped...

Maybe Viddie has been reading our posts :-k

Ahahahaaaa...yeah that was my first thoughts. I doubt it but why not. He could do a lot worse!!!!
for anyone without access to the paper thsi is how we are lined up. Of course things could change but anyways...

Fyfe Rudan conflakes Jamo
Barbs reid sarkies
Leckie Cristiano Cassio

Which now come to think of it is missing Dodd too...seems a stretch but im sure thats what i read...

... interesting line up, would be better to push Jamo up the park though and play a back 3 using the 3 CBs on the park and put Reid in front of them, have Barbs, Sarkies and Jamo forward of Reid and then play Leckie, Cristiano & Cassio high up the park.

Doubt thats how we line up though!

Sorry guys again! I got there 2 minutes into the game so headed straight to my grandstand seat. And yes, I am Asian... but no away kit with Owusu on it - that quip back then never turned into reality :p

Gonna get some sleep before the world cup draw... will discuss our (non-)performance tomorrow. :p

Sorry, couldn't resist. :p

Seriously guys, just hang in there, it'll come good evntually, I mean you have an ACL to look forward to. (Or not look forward to, whatever way you look at it.)

You know the team's struggling when the supporters show much more pride in the shirt.

I was engaged in deep conversation with my mate when driving home after last night's shocker. We talked about English league 1 and 2 teams... they all have buyers lined up, queing up to buy those clubs. Here, it's just a franchise. And a shitty one at that. The club has lost it's soul and Vidmars "Pissant" comment essentially aired the dirty laundry. And nothing's come of it either. So who would want to buy a shit-stained club with internal bickering all over the place?

I get the feeling Baker Young are just waiting for the miserable season to end so that they can screw the price down, and hopefully if they do, they will make a TRUE cleanout. Get rid of everything and everyone and start again. The club has ZERO touch-feel with it's fans and i wouldn't want to pay millions for it.

Every team has a bad patch, unfortunately yours is worse than others.

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

It was all looking good General, even before the game started. WHY? BECAUSE OF THE LINEUP. And even though we were down at half time due to some childish defending, we played with some gusto, creativity and flair.

ENTER HUGHES AND PANTELIS: And the game was over. No one wants to pass to them. The other players don't feel confident in them. THe players don't feel confident in the coaches decisions to play them.

And what happened boys? We lost the game as soon as Cassio and Barbiero were taken off and Hughes and Pantelis were brought on.

What does it say when all the fans don't want them playing but the coaching staff do? What does it say about Stubbin's character? It was his chance to 'defy' the President of Saudi Arabia. Instead we make a DOUBLE substitution and remove Cassio??? ANd Barbiero??? Barbs was a little less refined, but please, fkng please, don't tell me that Hughes and Pantelis are better. Stubbins is Vidmars puppet. We are Adelaide United's dildo. Keep us in the top drawer, then take us out once a week to f**K us over. Piss off Adelaide United.

well here is the thing if it was not making a profit then the price wont drop any further and here is my point we start making a profit which we must be doing even tho they will say there not. the price goes up baker young has come out and said they want a consortium of buyers respected business owners and very smart minds but they cant get the deal done my arse. ffa is ruining football in adelaide we could have had a lesser socceroos game but we didnt get it they could find us a marquee but they dont and they could find a owner but they dont. adelaide united is run like a corner deli

Thanks dt, you're lucky to support a club that seems to actually care about its supporters by fielding a winning team and not being scared to change a losing team.

The A league team should take a leaf out of the youth team's book!
5 past Newcastle last night - a penalty that was up where the spiders live @ 100kph = keeper no chance. Montorosso & Shin scoring AGAIN
Why did we sign these guys and then let Dodd, Hughes & Pantellis start EVERY game.

I say give the young guys a go, shit Owusu's in the youth team and he's still going down when anyone breathes on him. I thought the English League had tough, no-nonsense defenders. On Owusu's performance they must be skinny pen-pushers!

What pissess me off is that it's been said there's not good enough talent in the local league for us!! Mori ( even though he's old he's still quicker & smarter than what we've got ), Karlovic, Pezos .......to try and list them all is pointless, surfice it to say that Hughes & Pantelis would battle to get into most starting 11's

pantelis is in the side purly because his name he is nothing great i know of two 18 yr old kids as good as leckie 1 is a midfield player and one is a defender who dont get a go at there clubs because they dont flash the money or have parents that are in the club they have now looking at new clubs and will be getting paid by me to play . why is the ffa not doing somthing about these clubs politics. same problem is evolving with adelaide ie pantelis mullen bros just to name a couple and in the office is all friends and family of the board time for things to change i say people dont like the afl but we should be modeling alot on what they do it works less kids play but they get the best talent

I understand bindiboy, same thing as NEVER have a relationship at work ( that's REALLY difficult sometimes, especially if you've got a hot co-worker ) it just invites too much trouble, but as a client of Baker & Young I'd like it if the ownership was floated and we could all join the crew.
But as you say, there could be even more " powerbroking " going on than there is now with a small board.

Shit the lady I sit next to doesn't even know the players names or understand anything about team shape or tactics, yet she would have every right to be a co-owner and have an equal vote!!

This is why you need a good chief someone to stand at the top and bark orders not sit back and wait the coaches are there to coach and tactics and the receptionist is there to pick up phones the janitor cleans the toilets if the toilets arnt clean he would be sacked but if he was a mate then he would not be. im a paying member i expect my money to go into building a good club not into the pockets of family I expect adelaide to be making a profit if they dont it is time for the members to ask for a independent board to come in and find out were the money is being spent. the one thing which has suprised me with football comming from a aussie rules background is not having a dedicated place for supporters to meet ie the crows shed alberton etc why cant adelaide united own a pub or a shed near hindmarsh atleast that would make a profit and could cut the loss .adelaide city has better facilities than an a league club fancy that

Sorry, couldn't resist. :p

Seriously guys, just hang in there, it'll come good evntually, I mean you have an ACL to look forward to. (Or not look forward to, whatever way you look at it.)

You know the team's struggling when the supporters show much more pride in the shirt.

Nothing to be sorry about. I would have felt exactly the same if we had won AWAY.

Sorry I missed you guys. Was in Sydney for a farewell from the employer I have been with for nearly eleven years. They just had to do it on a game night! As it turned out I'm almost grateful that I didn't have to watch. Got back to the hotel just after the game and in time for the post match stuff on Fox. They made it sound like we were ok but couldn't score again. How bad were we? Not that it matters. Lose 2-0 at home to the second bottom team when we needed a win and that's bad. Really bad.

But, how was Reid? Why was Cassio subbed. Did anyone see Owusu in the Youth game? Why was Barbs subbed? Why do we bother. Lucky we diehards have no choice, eh?

And the Hammers were crushed by Man U. Great weekend!! NOT.

Stephen, we played OK. It was our best since the Sydney match. Everything before the Sydney game and since has been completely shithouse. Friday night started off really well. It was always going to start well with Barbiero, Jamieson, Reid and Cassio starting with a striker up front (Cristiano). On the topic of Cristiano he missed a beautiful chance to put a goal away. Admitedly it was a good save, but surely, surely, times are tough, JUST BLAST THE FKNG BALL and give the keeper NO CHANCE!

Newcastle persevered and popped the first goal (nothing new here for AU fans) achingly just before the half time whistle.

2nd half we started off reasonably good. The game changed momentum and Newcastle began to take control. We still showed some will but then the 71st minute spelt doom. A double substitution. Yes you read that right. And mate, what a substitution it was. Hughes and Pantelis both on for Barbiero and Cassio. And that was it. You could see the life of the game sucked right out into emptiness. The other players don't feel comfortable passing to them and they don't feel confidence in the coach's decision to play them. Dodd let all AU fans down when he stood there lost in space with his hands on his hips while a Newcastle players was receiving medical treatment.

It was a chance to rally the troops, say something inspirational, give some advice or discuss a team tactic. He stood there and approached no one. The fans on the east stand where yelling at him. So was I.:x

By then we had a few handball calls that were not heeded by the ref, then on the other side we had a handball (Jamieson) from memory, and the ref did call it. Penalty. Goal. Game over. Red Army were chanting "Were not gonna take it" and "Bullshit". I believe there were sections of the Red Army that had turned their backs onto the team in protest. Whether the chants were aimed at the team, the ref or both is a bit hard to identify. I believe it was at both.

So in the end we showed some creativity for some of the game. There was some real flair on the left hand side (gee look Cassio and Jamieson are there).. we were able to build up play from the back (gee Reid and Barbiero are playing). So this made the game a little more entertaining than most of the games all season. But we finished poorly. If it wasn't for Rudan and Galekovic in defence, the scoreline could have been worse. Much worse.

Reid was okay for most the match. He did look tired and gave the ball away a couple of times. so the substitution was warranted. But taking Cassio off for Pantelis was such a stupid move. You could see as soon as both Hughes and Pantelis came on, the game had dropped down a notch. And we were down low enough to begin with so it was pretty shit. Barbiero was excellent, I thought. He worked well with Reid and Sarkies who were both in the holding roles.

Owusu in the Youth League was pretty disappointing once again. I didn't get to sit behind his wife in the Grandstand this time round though. :p Shin was good in the game, and Joel Allwright was good too. Monterosso needs some senior squad time because when given the chance, he's a gun!

I had a better weekend overseas. Villa crushed Hull 3-0, and Barcelona overcame Deportivo 3-1 thanks to Mr Ballon d'Or.

PS Stephen: caught the last 65mins of the Baby Reds game and we were already 3-0 up! It was their best game i'd seen them play all year. They've still got a long way to go but based on their recent form and their demolition of Newcastle, i think this will build their confidence immensely. I want to say that Lloyd was excellent, outstanding and made a huge impact. But the truth is he was fairly quiet. It's interesting how much the other players love him though. Birighitti was being subbed off and he specifically called out Lloyd's name in the distance and waved to him - almost as if to say "keep trying". It's sad that it hasn't worked out for Lloyd.

Thanks guys. Sounds like some good and some bad. Also sounds like some radical changes are still called for. Now Reid is back, despite Sarkies good form I don't see a place for him consistently. Especially as he's off to Melbourne. It may be time to roll the dice with some youth team players before the ACL.

OK, here is my take on the game.

We can't score. We do everything else either above average, well or excellently. But we cannot score. I counted at least 6 great opportunities for us to get a goal. Each time we either hit the ball straight to the keeper, smashed it into a defender, or Doddgy swung at air - hit the ball with his knee - or just plain fucked up.

Doddgy needs to be dropped. He is not Captain material full stop. I was one of those yelling at him; he doesn't seem to get it. Heard a few yells about them being where they deserve, bottom of the table.

Was disappointed that you weren't there Stephen (I was late as well RU, got there about 15mins into the game), but being a personable lad got chatting with a few older people from England about the state of the game, the shape, our players, how the youth team went. We commiserated a fair bit, in between me yelling at the team ;) and the ref

How he could call Jamo for a deliberate hand ball when he was about a metre away from the kicker was disgraceful, especially as at the other end he opted to not call a similar hand ball! He also should have given one of the NJ players his marching orders, just because a bloke has a yellow card doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give him his second and marching orders after he makes a professional foul on a player near the box.

I didn’t recognise the ref so it might have been his first HAL match in charge, does anyone know?

I am still so upset about it I can’t formulate my thoughts coherently! Will try again later after I have a cup of coffee and some lunch…

Funniest thing I've seen this season :

Towards the end of the game(I think we may have just conceded the second)a guy from behind me somewhere stormed down the isles to the fence, took off his membership lanyard thingy and threw it on the pitch in disgust and stormed off!!!! Pretty much summed up my feelings. If it had not been for anti-streaking laws I was considering how amusing it would be to jump the fence and actually hand the membership to the nearest player.
I got home and watched (with the aid of fast forward) the game and did anyone else see the dressing room at half time? They were disconsolate but did we all see what was written on the whiteboard???? I felt like i was watching a kindegarden team or school kids on retreat. Cathphrases like "effort" etc in capitals and "earn the crowds respect" or some shit like that. I had to laugh(and shed a tear)
I genuinely feel sorry for the boys coz it wasnt as if they didnt try. I think they did. They're just shit.
i think Fyfe wanted to kill me as well. I was booing after the game(not proud of myself but i was disgusted) and I was standing quite by myself and my sister said he was pointing straight at me swearing and threatening me. I caught the end of his tirade as Dodd saw Fyfe yelling at the crowd and turned around to look at me. I booed again but felt bad coz i dont hate Dodd and he looked like he was about to go and top himself to be honest. Though this is how he looks DURING the game. Can't inspire a great deal of confidence when players see their Captain looking like that. Fyfe also may have had it in for me as i abused him when he lost control under minimal pressure towards the end and let the ball run out. You could hear me quite clearly on the fox coverage "You're a fucking genius Fyfe, you're a fucking genius".
Im not proud of any of this but I will be even less proud of myself if I dont show up to the next game. Which for the first time in AU history I am contemplating doing. Still...Ive felt like this alot on a Monday this season:cry:
I guess all we can do is keep showing up and show we still care. My girlfriend heard from my sis about my heckling antics and the crowd turning their back and called us all fair weather supporters. I dont think any of the people acting like me can be called that as we are there every week rain or shine. We just happen to be pasionate people who simply dont know how to act when your team(that we all love dearly) has fallen apart and is rotting from the core. I feel bad that i booed the players coz if i were able to put a face to, or get close to all the "piss ants" behind the seasons im sure the bulk of my ire would be aimed at them.
Oh and speaking of pissants(i know this isnt new info)but Valkanis "director of football" ....WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!No favours for old mates there.
GOD DAMN I HATE MONDAYS
