Thanks.

I’m going to refer to this analysis next time I watch him bat.

I just wonder if he is another batter who will just get the job done in Aus, but fail away?

Hopefully, he rectifies this weakness.

Good bowlers will work on any weakness their opponent has. That is why only those with the soundest of techniques prosper as long term Test cricketers.Unless of course you are either Don Bradman or Steven Smith.. these two are freaks.

Dec, Paine didn't get the Wagner short stuff. He got the Southee dross. Wagner was bowling when Paine came to the crease. He bowled 4.2 overs more and gave Paine around 8 runs of his 17. Paine was on 63 runs when Wagner came back. All up Paine took Wagner for about 11 runs in that innings.

Paine attacked and went after Santner. Smashed him. And he found it pretty easy to score regularly and easily off Southee.

Thanks.

Cummins looking good already. Beautiful inswinger just going over. I rate Latham.. he may be the fly in the oitment for the Baggy Greens.. not Taylor. Latham is in the mould of Edgar of SA or Burns of England.. good grafters.

De Grandhomme and Sayers are effective at only 120kph.

De grandhomme is elite with accuracy and movement. Not sure if Wade can do that. Symmonds was surprisingly good though so you never know

Cummins strikes!

Taylor caught in slips by Burns for 4.

3-46 after a well pitched up ball outside edge.

Good over!

His shield form over a sustained period of time is mcgrath like. I wonder what he could have been. Not too late to have a decent test career though

slightly fuller than the usual good length is so deadly on this pitch. Cummins has really adjusted

Has he struggled prior , or been unlucky?

his first over was the 8-9m back of a length region going a bit over the stumps but he has gradually adusted his length to fuller

there is a bit of variable bounce in a pitch around the 4-6 m mark I'm guessing

That nick whizzed to Labs.. he looked far too close to me. Lucky with the parry to Burns.

pretty dominant session really. Somehow pattinson and cummins have to play, I don't know who makes room but they both are capable of averaging in the very low 20s!

I’ve missed a few hours play, but Aus seems to be keeping the ball at a fuller length than NZ, as Cummins induces an outside from Latham to Paine.

NZ now 7-112 with Southee in and facing a 140kph short pitched Cummins thunderbolt.

A good backs to the wall knock by Latham. He did not need to play at that. Perhaps the pressure Cummo had built drew him into the drive.

Well DC I said Latham was going to be a thorn in our side.. needed to at least double that gutsy 50..

Now Santner goes for 3.

Caught behind by Paine from Patto’s bowling - pitching on a good length.

Wagner now copping it from faster short pitched bowling from Cummins.

They aren’t getting into the ribs as much, but that one did dropped by Wade at bat pad.

yep normally 6-7m is the dangerlength

on this pitch its a touch fuller and we've hit the right length much more consistently this morning than last night

would love to hear some stats on how many balls Australia faced that would actually hit the stumps compared to when we bowled. I reckon its a big difference. Even when they weren't playing bodyline tactics NZ were back of a length or wide of off a lot
