May need to change that view as Patto has pinged the skipper in front for a duck egg.

Now Taylor plays on. Black Caps imploding due to massive scoreboard pressure and some decent stuff by Pattinson..

Paddles love knocking our pace attack.. not world class. Then if Cummins, Hazlwood, Pattinson and Starc are not world class then mr so called cricket guru, the current Black Caps attack is barely Sydney Premier cricket class.

It is a bit of a shame all four of Starc, H, Patto and Cummins are a similar age. If they had been playing in an era with a stronger Aus batting line up, they would have had resounding success at home.

In other eras players like Bird, Tremain, Richardson, Meredith and Neser would probably be playing more Test cricket than they have to date.

I’m hoping for a big innings from Williamson soon. He is a class batter and good to watch.

BCs have to be admired for battling so hard against scoreboard pressure for so much of the series.

I suppose that Baggers and other TCA Members are identifying technical weaknesses in Burns, Wade and Head, who all have a predisposition to have too big a gap between bat and pad for vertical shots, yet the Kiwis have struggled to contain them is a significant issue.

Yes DC that and spending double time as us in the field in sweltering conditions.. they are unfamiliar with and that are frankly unsuitable for cricket.

I have to say I am disappointed with this display by them all the same. The contest we all hoped for has not eventuated. Their bowling has been below par.. and with their batting being their strength.. have never reached anywhere what they are capable of.

I mean how do you have pride in a cap that has represented sportsmanship for so long when you play bodyline

its no mystery to me why one of the most mentally tough teams in the world have shown no mental toughness this series. Same reason we struggled for mental toughness until recently

in india (when do we tour next?) you need to rotate your quicks. Starc pattinson and cummins can all make a mockery of the conditions and if we get a spin partner to lyon who knows what could happen

At 3-35 chasing 488, the BCs are really in strife.

I’m not sure if they can just defend for another day hoping to be saved by forecasted rain late  tomorrow?

Have the performances of Wade, Head and Burns this series against NZ been good enough to comprise  enough batting strength for a title winning team?

I often got told that however you finish the last game is how you start the next

so there is always something to play for. If they force it to a 5th day and we bowl first in sydney then they might face a more fatigued lineup

I don't know but between them with khawaja and patterson knocking on the door there might be some decent quality over 4 years with different faces

True.

DC I can see why Tim batted into today to give his quicks more time. This deck looks the easiest to bat on for the entire match. Even Blundell with little footwork looks reasonably comfortable. Those three important Patto wickets has sealed the deal but the BCs will battle it out.

Cummins bowling some 145 kph plus short balls.

That is very quick for short pitched deliveries.

Wasn’t it Hussey who predicted the pitch would play more easily as the game progressed?

I am keen to see how GOAT will bowl today on this pitch.

Baggers, Grazor, et al,  Nicholls seems  to be getting his bat close to his pad with his vertical shots.

Is that correct?

Good sharp stumping from Paine off a sharply spinning GOAT ball. Hope those Whirlpool naysayers saw this!

Nicholls gone, but he played a decent knock  under pressure.

Kiwis 4-89.
