Personally I think that Breeze in general has gotten better lately as a ref - he at least appears to be trying to give each side a fair go.

The exception to that rule is when we play the Victory. For some reason he always makes a critical error. He also is very lenient on Muscat.

The best we can hope for tommorrow night is Breeze making bad calls for both sides.](*,)

That is what I am afraid of BU. Hoping he fucks both teams over equally.

I bought my tix @ members day - but then again I'm an ol' fart that prefers the Western G/stand with seats on the half-way line.
I actually prefer the old days when Venuetix just gave you the same seat you'd had ALL season - none of this first in, best dressed stuff.

Can United still get players for the ACL...or has that ship sailed?
A couple of strikers who can actually hit the net would be nice!!

Its sad to hear the demise of VenueTix. They provided a service perfect for South Australians.

On the players front, I dont think you will hear anything until the new owners are confirmed.
Our squad for the ACL will be confirmed next week, so yes the ship has sailed.

I'm not completely sure, but the list of players was supposed to be submitted to the AFC by January 23.

Here's the excerpt:

ACL 2010 Regulations wrote:
35. Preliminary Registration of Players for Play-off Stage and Preliminary Stage: Play-off matches, Group matches, Round of 16

a) Depending on which round in the Play-off Stage or Preliminary Stage a team enters, for all match days in the Play-off stage, Group Stage and Round of 16, each club participating shall submit to AFC Secretariat, via email and courier, the AFC Official Registration Form for the Players and the supporting documents in accordance with Art. 30 to 34 by the deadline below.

i. Teams entering from Play-off Stage : By 30 December, 2009
ii. Teams entering from Preliminary Stage : By 23 January, 2010

b) Once the AFC Official Registration Form has been received by AFC and seven (7) days prior to the first group match day (MD 1) of the Competition, up to three (3) players may be replaced in the event that they are medically unfit to play (certified by doctor in English). AFC must receive a detailed medical assessment to be reviewed by any member of
the AFC Medical Panel which confirms whether the injury is sufficiently serious to prevent the player from taking part in the Competition. The club shall then immediately nominate in writing a replacement player in compliance with Art 33 & 34 of these Regulations. Until the replacement player has received his AFC Eligibility card, he will not be considered to have been registered for the Competition

c) Seven (7) days prior to the first group match day (MD 1) of the Competition, teams may replace or add five (5) players in the official registration provided that the team does not exceed the maximum number of 30 registered players.

I cant stand Aust cricket and that is one of the reasons
They constantly do racist chants for Aust games (show us your visas) to Pakistan and Indian fans.
Yet they are percieved as a bunch of larikens having some fun.
FOAD Cricket with your racist, yobbish behaviour that should have left back in the last century when them views were tollerated.

There's a good ol' socialogical reason, however, as its not written down and is really an unpublished theory, ( my theory ) I will not bore everyone here with it, as it's veering away from football talk.
Suffice it to say, I feel there is racism present in our Anglophile society but the media will ALWAYS deny it.

On the news today they even managed to turn a story of misbehaving fans at the cricket into "it's soccers fault "
It pissess me off, royaly, but you've just gotta suck things like that up otherwise it'd be way too easy to get on the train stopping at station paranoia.

Anyways back to Adelaide United. With Owusu trialling in China and unavailable for the Nix trip, will we finally see Montorosso?

Yep i saw it on the news... it was chaos at Adelaide Oval. I even saw ferral women howling abuse and drinking like animals.

And i think it was Hussey the wanker that said "these people have been watching too much Green Street Hooligans"

What a real fucking wanker to pin the behaviour of cricket fans on soccer. Nothing new though hey.

I thought owusu was just comming good. He said it himself that he didnt get a pre season and got chucked into the team before he was ready. i think if the chinese team doesnt pickl him up we should stick by him take him in the dressing room and say we want you here show us what you and we know you can do he will be good against those small chinese defenders. and i thought when christiano came on against melbourne there were glimses of what they could do together

I like Owusu, but I just don't think too much of his foot skills. We need a more complete striker, rather that an unbalanced one like Owusu.

Owusu's been selected in ACL squad, Cristiano & Alamao have not.
AU have a squad of 25, they can add to it by 5 before Feb 16.

Maybe Aloisi to come home? - just wishful thinking on my part. There is no doubt we need strong strikers, and then maybe Viddie will play Flores in his correct posn.

Yes, get Aloisi over here. He doesnt belong in Sydney. I think he would enjoy coming back to his hometown and proving everyone that he can infact still play football.

If he were to come back, I just hope that he doesn't turn out to be the next Paul Agostino. :p
