Didn't mention this but noticed that the lads were all wearing the training strip rather than the released kit. TBH I liked that top more than the official one. Might get one of those.

I have to agree with you there.

I thought it was a fresh change from the all red strip.

The training kit definitely looks better than our proper one. I've also noticed that our Errea kits seem to fit much nicer than the old Reebok ones did.

Still waiting on a hands-on inspection of the new shirt before I can commit to getting one. Would love the away shirt though.

Can anybody help me out here?

me and a few boys are heading over to the jan 13th 2012 united v victory game at aami park. flights are already booked.

how does it work with tickets? is there any priority for me and the boys since we have season tickets? I remember there is always an away allocation of tickets when you go to a website to buy tickets, I assume this would apply to us, is it just first in first served? basically i want to know if there is anyway of guraranteeing tickets for me and the boys. i know nothing in this life is guaranteed but can i organise anything with adelaide united perhaps?

I can only go on what I did when i went to AAMI for the 4-1 win(sweet)

Just make sure you buy a ticket in the away supporter bay online with ticketek. There was no priority period etc

There will be an away bay reserved and just make sure the day they go on sale you are on the website hell early coz I imagine a fair few are going to travel and the game will be be pretty packed

Others here have far more experience than me but im pretty sure they all just organise their own tickets online in the away supporter bay like i did.

make sure you go along to wherever the red army is drinking before the game. One of the most fun days of my life and i went over by myself. Only took all of 5 minutes in melbs to meet another bloke in United gear on the same plane as me

It will be my first trip to seeing the Reds away in Melb for me. Went to a Glory match in Perth a couple of seasons ago but that was boring as batshit.

Is there much drama over there for these games? Not that I'm looking. Far too old that rubbish now :) Just interested.

Will be going solo as well. Got a plane ticket for the match for my birthday. Yay. Staying with my sis who lives over there. Can't wait

Melbourne is great for away trips, very easy to get around and very affordable.

RedTillDead wrote:

There's always a few people looking for trouble but the area around the stadium is usually packed with cops so it's kept under control quite well.

Thanks davide82 for the advice. 2 questions

1 - how far in advance do the tickets go on sale on the tickettek website for the game?
2 - is there any built in checks into the tickettek website to stop victory supporters from getting an "away supporters" tickets and then standing elsewhere because of the harry factor? i.e. do you have to quote your adl united membership number?

there's a fair bit of banter between the groups but nothing that you'd call physical really
Cops did a good job of shepharding us through the one entrance

After the game a few little punk kids in MV tops tried to get in amongst the group all marching back to the city(everyone met before hand for the march as well which was awesome).

To be honest I went out for a smoke at half time and was chatting away to several diff MV supporters

99.5% of people there are all the same and good natured.

Holy crap that MUST be a record

I've been wondering what we will get in the way of identifying us as members actually

Will it be a second card? there must be SOME way given what they say we will get as benefits ie. entry to AGM and merch online

I was dumbfounded, I spent 30 minutes prior to last season's home opener standing in line to get my damned season ticket....to have it 21 days before kickoff is unbelievable tekkers:)
As for membership ID...last year my ST had "MEMBER 2010/11" written on it, this years ticket says "SEASON TICKET HOLDER 2011+12" so I'd reckon we'll be getting another card to slide into the little plastic sleeve that came with the ST + red lanyard.
PS: pax 2333 and 2334.

ok I have bought the 50 general admission tickets for the Perth Glory game on October 9th from the FFA internet pre sale

Please be advised though I want to contact Perth Glory about this because on the NIB venue chart they have classed the away supporters bay as Gold reserved (2 bays E13 and E14) which I think is a joke. Plus how is this for a joke of a price ($27 adult to sit in general admission) hopefully security don't be complete dicks about this but if they are the closer bays unreserved to the away supporters bays are S1 and S2.

Will work with Perth Glory about the seating arrangement because if you get a free ticket of me you might have problems sitting in that bay.

You shouldn't though because I honestly don't think we will seat all two bays.

All set now just awaiting to get tickets from registered posts.

I will be in Perth sunday morning in a rose coloured Portland Timbers jersey (aka Timber Tim 11) and walking around the Murray street and Hay street mall hopefully I meet some of yous who are going to the game and want a free ticket just yell out to me. If you don't see me then meet at gate 3 NIB stadium (corner of Pier and Brewere street) at around 2.30pm (2 hours kickoff)

Hope to see you there.
