Tweet by FSV Quote:FSV-President Julius Rosenthal at halftime: "Mathew Leckie is incredible. Things are going well for us."
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Leckie with a very nice run and cut back for an assist to follow up his goal. Needs to be given time in the upcoming friendlies against France and Canada.

If we don't see Leckie, Davidson, Lowry, Ryan and/or Langerak, Rogic and Williams get hardly any game time in the upcoming friendlies... then good grief, Holger. Just good grief. #-o

What do you base this on ? last year the following players broke into the starting line up r mcgowan, oar, sarota, kruse, leckie, lowry(had played championship before but I believe last year he signed a permanent deal) and holland so about 6 if you account for mcgowan going to china this year: d mcgowan, mat ryan, o bozanic, jackson irvine, vidosic, davidson and hopefully ruka. So thats 6 hopefully 7 current number of aussies in european starting lineups is about 17 though wilkshire may not be there next time round so lets count 16. 16+4*6=40 not bad...

Leckie just scored a beautiful goal for FSV Frankfurt against Ingolsdadt. I believe it is 1-0 to Frankfurt after around 20 mins.

Edited by grazorblade: 22/9/2013 02:37:19 AM All younger players as well. Our problem really has been those who should now be 25-32, those who were in their key stage of development when the NSL was dying/first couple of years of the A-League. Plenty of young players coming through now, are you watching Holger? Besides Sarota anyone know when Herd should be back? Also, really nice to see this from the OS Aussies update: Stoke City U21 v West Ham United U21 0-1 (0-1) Alex Grant played a full match for Stoke while Dylan Tombides also played a full match for West Ham. Stoke remains in 14th position while West Ham went to the top. Edited by SC03: 22/9/2013 12:20:48 PM

Also does anyone have an expected date of return for Sarota or Valari from their respective injuries?

As much as I love Rogic and want to see him do well if he isn't getting the minutes at Celtic I really think Bozanic or Vidosic should be the back up AM for Cahill for the next qualifiers I think its only fair.

If you go here you can see what individual J-league clubs spent on wages in the past. 1 yen = 1 cent. http://www.j-league.or.jp/eng/data/index_03.htmlyoung Japanese players have a cap on wages and foreigners got paid a lot more than locals. SInce 2009 I assume wages have contracted and foreigners no longer get paid many more times than locals.

Very good by Kruse. He needed to make the most of his opportunities and scoring 2 plus an assist is doing exactly that. It should mean that he at least gets some good time off the bench even if he is not starting.
