I've heard the Veneto Club deal has fallen through. Anyone else with any more information on that?

They ususally send an email out to ST's/Members for this type of thing and I don't recall seeing one of them. Could be wrong. How did you get wind of it?

We need this venue if we are to cement ourselves in the community as a football club. The last official comments from the club was: Greg Griffin wrote: "We're very close to signing contracts," Mr Griffin said yesterday.
"We're going through the due diligence now and this is not only great for our club but super for the entire community."
That suggests that it's not a done deal.

I like the drums. when they are in sync with the chanting, it really adds to the atmosphere IMO.

No the 8 was just a random pick....Last year I had VAN DIJK 9 on my shirt. 8 rhymes with hate, where the WAF stickers are I could further customize the shirt if required down the track. As in 'we' 8 'mv'...just throwing ideas out there:)

I think the source of the problem is the lack of people who actually sing in the north end.

My six-year-old thinks the drums are one of the best things at Hindmarsh. At the moment the drums help I reckon. When the Red Army triples in size and the chants fill the ground the drums may be superfluous. And maybe not...(but then I'm a drummer from way back and I love the skins).

Drums are fine with me. Guess it depends where in the stadium you hear them from.

Brisbane WALKED the ball in on almost every goal. Basically, the furthest goals scored were from the bloody penalty spot! What does that tell you?
I can't work it out. It's a new team. Yet they're still, somehow, carrying the scars of previous years. WHat the bloody hell did we do in that entire pre-season? Photoshoots, glitterati and attending parties? FMD.
Well well well.. what did i tell you all? AdelaideNow wrote:Thrills and spills at Cup afterpartyTHE Moet & Chandon Melbourne Cup afterparty, one of our top social soirees, didn't disappoint in 2011.The French bubbly was flowing among Adelaide's A-list at Hotel Richmond's First Bar with revellers partying well into the morning. Attendees included former 36er Mark Davis, businessman Francis Wong, celebrity chef Adam Swanson and one-time The Block residents Amity Dry and Phil Rankine, as well as the requisite sports stars, fashion designers, models and TV types. One of the best dressed was Adelaide United player Evgeniy Levchenko whose bow tie-cardigan combination had the ladies charmed. And speaking of dressing to impress, fashion designer Liza Emanuele had a much fussed about wardrobe drama after a glass of bubbly was accidentally spilt on her cream floral dress. The girl about town was most displeased, and was asked to step outside to calm down before returning to the party - but Liza didn't kick on much after the incident. One party-goer who was well and truly in the spirit was the new-look Dorinda Hafner, who made the dancefloor her home for the evening, living it up to the sounds of DJ Leah Mencel. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/entertainment/confidential/thrills-and-spills-at-cup-afterparty/story-e6fredq3-1226183958850

Curtain raisers @ Hindmarsh - even though you think it's amatuerish I scratch my head at your logic :-s State team full of amatuers??? - don't get what you're trying to say, but if you mean playing for the shirt - then yes, but really? :-s :-s

you dont want any imports so do you want the team made up of players from the state league?
I scratch my head at you bitching and crying about the owners who saved this club all because its too far to see the youth team play. Those "loyal supporters" will go but most people dont care

Where did I state that I didn't want imports? Obviously state league players are nowhere near good enough - otherwise they'd get contracts with the top Premier league teams or Super league teams like Barbiero, Costanzo, Freddy Agius, Malik. DaSilva, Dodd, Pelligrino, Veart, Porter, Alagich............. no point in trying to name all the players who were brought up here & played for local clubs and have a vested interest via family in Adelaide. Also " saved the club "? Long bow there mate. I agree though it's nice to have owners. By your comments about bitching & crying and loyalty not being a two-way street I can see you don't understand my opinion. You have an opinion as do I and we're both entitled to them - end of!
