Regarding the AFCCL kit, all I have to say is that any kit we win games in is a good kit to me. I actually like it's clean lines and approve the better fit. I didn't mind the colour of the kit either, was a better red than my green tinged feed from Tashkent would have led me to believe. Oh and did I mention that we are not only undefeated but with a 100% win record in it :)

Im looking forward to seeing what our away strip is like. Perhaps a return to white? We'll have to have something different for Pohang.

Not sure anyone here lost faith that things would NEVER turn around.

Some of us are just more emotional about things and/or not blind followers and can see good and bad in things

Can't see anyone on this forum that abandoned United coz we were shit this season. Some of us have just been angry that's all and think things could have been done better. Pretty standard fan talk really

So guys has it been brought up yet ? what do you think of the new kits

im unsure about the white stripes but in saying that i do believe you should have your emblem colors on your kit and we have white in our emblem so one and two.

Better then the plain home kit we have now bit more style about it but i think i would like the white stripes to be yellow or even black.

See this is an issue that I just don't care about.
The players could wear pink sacks with their number and names written in texta for all I care as long as they score more goals than the opposition I'm happy.

I know it's an age thing, and I recall my days as a striker - my job was to put the ball in the back of the net, and if I did that I regarded the shift as a good one, then I'd shower & change my clothes at the end of the game.

Edited by redcup: 21/3/2012 07:30:42 PM

Yea but the team is not going to be the only people wearing the kit.
supporters do not want to wear a kit with a picture of a fairy as the mascott to say lol
You would want the kit to look decent to make sure you can get sales from it is my point.
I dont care what they wear on the field but if im to buy it i want it to look good or i will buy a older version or keep my older 3 yr old kit instead. I get you point about whhat your saying but it is not just about what they are wearing game day.

Yeah you're right I never thought about that aspect.
It does make me curious though, how many shirts Cagliari sold when they played in a pink strip, and how many of those awful Everton keeper strips have been sold? ( equally as bad as the Australian camo kit that guys like Robbie Slater wore! )

As far as an investment those kits are probably worth a lot of $ now.

‘Water for the World’ initiative

Friday, 23 March 2012 12:08 AM

Adelaide United’s proud back of shirt sponsor Stratco will make a special cheque presentation to World Vision CEO Rev. Tim Costello prior to the Reds’ match against Melbourne Heart tomorrow night as part of Stratco’s ‘Water for the World’ project.

Rev. Costello will be in attendance at the Reds’ final game of the season to accept a cheque from Stratco for what currently stands at $50,000 after the building and home improvement company committed $2,000 to World Vision’s new water and health project in Burundi, Africa for every goal Adelaide United scored in the Hyundai A-League season.

Prior to heading to Adelaide, Rev. Costello expressed his gratitude to Stratco for their generosity and emphasised the unique connection football has with the people and areas that World Vision provides assistance to.

“Whenever I visit World Vision's work overseas I see kids playing football. Our supporters often tell me they get letters from their sponsor children saying how they love playing football with their friends,” Rev. Costello said.

“This game unites nations around the world and it has been an honour for World Vision to partner with Stratco and Adelaide United this season.”

"For every goal this season Stratco has donated $2000 which means clean water for 100 households in Burundi. I'm looking forward to being at Hindmarsh on Friday night for the last game of the season. Hopefully the Reds win and score a few more goals."

For the launch of the initiative, a moving 60 second video was produced, featuring Reds striker Sergio Van Dijk. Click here to view the footage, while fans at tomorrow night’s game can also join the twitter discussion #water4theworld.

Adelaide United FC is honoured to be involved in the initiative and to be able to help out such a worthy cause. People can donate to World Vision by visiting www.worldvision.com.au.

Hey guys just a quick one

I have been watching dylan mcgowan this season an Adelaide boy back in aus out of contract and can play RB you would think we would of jumped to get him back here straight away for next season
what is going on he can defend and attack really well too. Would love to see the young guy in a red shirt next season
i hope kossie brings the boy home.

I am fairly sure he is on loan to GC, and still contracted to Hearts, so that one might be a bit more difficult than other GC free agents if that is still the case.

Izzo is going to be a star. No question, he is another keeper in the mould of Birra & Hugene.

From what I've seen of Izzo, he certainly seems quite a promising talent. Goalkeeper is probably the one area of the pitch I'm completely confident about for next season.

anyone know if he is out of contract with hearts ?

would be a great pick up for us get the soul back in united.

I don't know.

How much different is he to Mullen though? They seemed to say he is more of CB playing RB than a natural RB.

I think this guy has more attacking instinct can cross has more speed better passer and can beat players good Rb option

mullen is better as a CB in todays game.

I tend to agree with Mullen although how much opportunity he will get there with Fyfe, McKain and Boogaard is another question. Golec as well.

If he is all the things you say and we can sign him then it would be good. Being able to cross would be very good as we have very few who can do it. Cassio is probably the best.

Cassio and ramsey can cross a good ball
im worried about watson i think kossie is going to offload him
he is meant to be a natural midfielder turned RB yet he can defend ok but his first touch and crossing and passing and taking on players is poor something he is meant to be better at.
i don't think there is room for him next year in the team.

I thought Watson was originally a central midfielder and took that as the reason he could not cross. He needs to go.
I think Ramsey's crossing was a bit disappointing most of the time this year.

Watson was a CM correct but as a CM you still need to be good with the ball at foot crossing passing taking players on so forth and at a-league level watson does not look up to it unfortunately for the kid.

After last night's performance, I am reassured at the signing of Bowles. Such pace! AND he can play on the wing or at RB!

But all the rumblings about players like Cassio, Caravella, van Dijk, Vidosic, all leaving make me upset. I know that if we offload them, it will take years before we win anything again. Lack of stability fucked us over this season, I'd hate to see it happen again next season.
