The other option is Averillo and Harper in the centres, Smith and DWZ on the wings..
In that case make the bench:-
14. Lewis 15. Sue 16. Odgen 17. Matt Doorey/James Roumanos

+xhounddog if you watched the game lastnight averillo let the 1st to trys in so why would you leave him there ? i would put hopa & harper in the centres , with dwz & r smith on the wing & meany @ no 1 with foran & try averillo @ 6 & id put katoa in @ 9 jm k offers nothing there He is young and I don't really blame anyone for the first Roosters try.... I want to get Wakeham in the side as I think he will add a lot.. and like Averillo is he a quality young player who can use the experience. The options for Averillo are then half, centre, wing, fullback or bench or Wakeham on the bench.. Foran, Hoppa, Elliott and Averillo are our major attacking threats, Wakeham is another attacking threat 5 are better than 4. Wakeham is more like a halfback and Foran/Averillo are more like 5/8s... IMO... I hope Wakeham has the confidence to play his game, and run the team with Foran there, that will suit both players.. The first Roosters try was very well done.. for the 2nd one Meaney should have taken the intercept, the whole outcome is different. Young guys are rushing in in defence because we are shot in numbers, and typically the opposition has a fast play the ball, the real problem is a number of plays back... Our forwards are not hitting hard enough often enough in the middle of the park... Watch the first Teddy try, Napa had his back turned and I don't think he even got to attempt a tackle, our middle forwards had been worked over. Pay had it spot on in the press conference, our slow play the balls were from the Roosters hitting hard, their fast play the balls were momentum and us not hitting hard. If we want to change the momentum a good hard tackle will do that... Not many teams play with that much energy in attack and defence, throw and catch so many passes in slippery conditions.. and have a top shelf player have an outstanding game. I will not be surprised if the Roosters never play better this season... I'll be disappointed if we don't play a lot better.. In previous season the Morris Bros used to make a lot of great defensive plays on the left edge and shut down messes before they became tries, they also made a lot of good yardage coming out of our end.. The young guys are finding it hard to do that, we need a bit more experience on that edge... But we also need to be competitive in the middle of the park.... when the props are beaten badly, ,, the team is always beaten badly..

Have the teams been named yet?
Guaranteed, Pay will select the usual suspects.... Newsreader, Britt, Lewis, JMK & co
God I hope he proves me wrong & drops these poor performers this week

+xHave the teams been named yet? Guaranteed, Pay will select the usual suspects.... Newsreader, Britt, Lewis, JMK & co God I hope he proves me wrong & drops these poor performers this week I've had a quick look at the draw, the next 5 weeks are big for us, starting this week. I think we need 1-2 wins before we get Tols and Tommo. Dman's convinced me about Lewis's lack of leg speed, so JMK is the only name above I would have in the side. I'm happy with our attack, defence is the problem, with a bit of luck we would have put 16 on the Roosters,... most other sides we score 16-20.. 3 really close shots that were nearly tries.. I'm concerned Pay might persist with Newsreader, Britt, Lewis, defence look adequate again the Dragqueens , but their attack was pathetic.. we need to fix the left side and get more energy in the middle... Shame we don't have Joey Tramontanna...

Cogger named in 22 has me nervous...
Renouf to start is a positive
IF Averillo and Smith are playing outside Foran... that should be good... DWZ might be able to fix the leaky left side...
I like Crichton...
Still think Wakeham should be in for Lewis..
.... hot off the press... we are hearing strong rumours the entire Shark side has said insulting things about Odgen's family.... that should fire him up.. :)

Napa made 42 tackles against the Chooks otherwise his stats are ordinary.. only 62 running metres and slowest play the ball in the team..
In this case the stats back up what i saw, Sue have fewer missed tackles and a faster play the ball otherwise much the same
Renouf and Tommo for starting props when our pommy saviour gets here.... boy we need him....

If Pay plays Britt again this week then I will be convinced that he is as brain dead as Hasler and it shows he has no intention of fixing this team up. If this is the case then it's time to go Deano.

If this is the case then it's time to go Deano. We are down on forwards at present the only options are the young guys:- Matt Doorey/James Roumanos Not named this week .. so it looks like Britt Matt Doorey :- a 2018 Australian schoolboy and NSW under 20s representative in 2019 Doorey looks like a good player to me. most of our forward pack are not that inspiring, maybe worth a shot soon.

We have to do something hd because what I have seen of Britt so far is very uninspiring. It seems odd that we don't have any forwards available, because that is what the fans have been whining about constantly saying "we always seem to be buying forwards when there is a spine to be fixed".

And while I am at it why aren't we giving Wakeham and Katoa a shot? We cant go any worse than we are going atm.

I agree with your points .. especially on Wakeham..... Britt isn't quite up to NRL at present... but might come good eventually... Tols and Tommo are currently in hiding due to COVID-19... Smith and Stimson are out injured... Even Montoya might be worth a try in the back row.. The squad is 1-2 forwards short IMO... we have a couple of young backs taking up slots,,, I assume just for Salary Cap reasons.. I hope our Pommy import is good he might make a big difference, even Smith is a significant upgrade on Britt.

I am not sure on the validity of the rumour, but I have just read that Katoa refuses to take a flu shot, so he will not be considered for FG until he does.

I didn't find his trial form that impressive... I don't overly rate JMK .... This is an area I would like to strengthen via recruitment, or promoting a talented young hooker,,,, We apparently have some good ones in the lower grades ... but they are way too young I think... Katoa has been in the squad a fewer times...

hd, if Pay continues to overlook Wakeham he may just look elsewhere and that would be unforgivable, considering we have already lost what looked to be a promising prospect in Harper.

If KP is getting $1.1M Teddy’s gotta be worth at least $1.3M or $700K under the Rorters sombrero...

We had Damien Cook at hooker, we were chasing Teddy and he would have come as a package deal with none other than Mitchell Moses. So we would have effectively had 75% of the NSW origin spine if you consider Moses as a halves option. In the end, we got none. Thanks Des - idiot.

Teddy was going nowhere but to your crooked mates in Bondi... Just like Loltrell was going nowhere but Souffs... Teddy probably would’ve backflipped once he got his mate a job with us... Ekther way your two favourite cap rorting teams got Ted and flat track Mo so what’s your problem???...
