Worst number 7 in the comp. He had a perfect chance at F/G 10 minutes out from right in front and put up a crap bomb. Dragons then scored. Tops it off with a stupid cut out in last minute. Not one run with the ball. I thought he did ok certainly in defence. Our kicking game is what skowed the game and got us the lead in the first half. But losing Foran (I knew he wasnt returning) meant we were a genuine playmaker and decision maker short. The wide pass was on especially as we lost 2 tackles from a 7 tackle set on a 6m gain. It's just unfortunate how it ended. It could have just been a knock on but it bloody cane of Montoyas knee and flew into Norman. Anything but that.... Lewis was great in defence. I can see why Pay is rotating the halves an young players like Averillo and Wakeham
Lewis is OK as a half, in some first halves and when Foran is on the field, no doubt he is a much better defender...
Averillo and Wakeham have long term potential to be much better attacking players..
If Foran leaves we need to sign another experienced half, but my preference is to keep him...
Meaney was good at fullback pretty much what I expected...
If we keep Foran, Lewis Averillo and Wakeham, then that is the havles.
Meaney, Averliio and Hoppa can cover fullback...
A starting hooker would be my preference and JMK can be 14.
Or sign an impact hooker like young Starling and start JMK.
So fullback slipped down my list of priorities after Meaney's performance..
And prop slipped down my list of priorities after Odgen's performance..
All that is needed is a good off season with Odgen losing a bit of weight, getting fitter, and getting some aggro...so perhaps a diet of raw meat ... after Dman & I sit him down and explain how props at other NRL clubs don't respect him...
(Don't worry Dman I've got you back ... I'll be the one hiding in the corner)..

That's what I have trying to say. I have nothing against Lewis but everytime he kicks it's a bl00dy bomb. No variety, no thought, no tactic just a bomb. I guess they Drags figured that out and used it against us.

Where would Bellamy put him???.,, I wish I knew where Bellamy would put him, he seems too good to just discard... He hasn't improved over the last 1-2 years, let's see what a new coach can do... I know most fans don't want the club to go with Barrett, but the two things Barrett may do is improve our halves and our attack. if Barrett has something as a coach then 21/22 should be fairly good seasons, if not then I'm happy to punt him, most of what he may add can be done in 2 years.. If there is a single shred of truth at all... It can’t work if he plans on staying at the penny’s first the remainder of the year... If he can’t have a say in recruitment until November/ish, can’t start to install expectations in the current players, it’s pointless and just the excuse he’d love to leverage when things don’t go well... I think he can stay at Penny's and have a say in recruitment... We should be firing the starting gun on recruitment about now, first question is - who is the new coach? So I expect the new coach should be official sometime in the next 2 weeks, some players and managers have probably been given a strong hint.. A new coach may not start work until November, the kind of overhaul our side needs, requires an off season... Gerogie and they boys can work on a few things for the rest of the year, may be the new coach comes on board once it is official.. In some ways his work at the Penny's is already done... why he might stay there is to help them win a GF... if he isn't yet on our payroll, that is fair... once we are paying him, he should be working for us.. However, you are right in that this is all media speculation, the new coach is not yet final and official and it might not be Barrett. One reason a new coach might not want to come on board for the rest of his year, is we don't have the talent, there is a limit to what they can do, if Georgie jags a couple of wins or good performances and the new coach comes on board and cops a bad loss, the media and some of our fans will be right into him and the board ... you know Tony will probably be one of them.. Can't serve two masters. His duty as a panthers employee may be at odds with our expectation of him as our coach. This may be especially the case in player recruitment. If Barrett gets the Dogs job the Panthers have no choice but to put him on gardening leave... it is simply untenable... From a Dogs perspective it’s simply unacceptable with what we have in front of us...

His only run today resulted in a surrender tackle. I cannot believe that a player that is prepared to tackle like he does shirks running the ball.

You are right he doesn't run enough and rarely makes an impact when he does. I'll give him one season with a new coach to show some improvement. I think Wakeham needed a rest this game... Injury to Foz really cost us, if he stays on we probably win.
