+x+x+x+xI didnt know he was signed before? I presume he is an Aussie, not a visa player. In any event was previously nominated for POTY in the Qld NPL,so good that he is given an opportunity. A replacement for AON? He’s ex-Academy. I guess they’re filling the midfield. Rumour they’re chasing a 6 to fill the hole left by AON/Pepper looking forward someone with more experience. Matthew Ridenton announced this morning, I am guessing he is the person they were looking for for that role. Be interesting to see how we line up in the midfield on Sunday That's underwhelming. Not at all.

Well, Corey Brown looks a different player, right on the pace. Ridenton might aim up in the different environment as well. The very least, plugged a gap pretty quick after O'Neill exit.

Are spectators permitted at CBUS? 25% capacity rule? Wouldn't mind going.

No no no not straight up “fuck I’ll sign me mates” fed up tbh I dont see how that is an example of signing his mates, he has brought in a player he is familiar with and who has been pretty good at NPL level for what is in effect an lengthy trial (it’s a loan deal). If it works out great, if it doesn’t Kim goes back to the NPL, no harm done. Managers do it all the time, Ange brought in a heap of players who played for him in the Joeys and that turned out alright.

The best part is that we have a "Head Coach" and that the results next year will be his to own. As I've previously stated, he had Lions performing extremely well in the NPL. It's fair to ask how much was coaching and how much was budget? I think he it was more him than budget, we'll soon find out. One area that may be concerning is foreign recruits. Our coaches recently have had good networks overseas. Not sure who will be responsible for identifying the new batch of imports after this lot leave.
Looking forward to seeing what Warren can do.

As much as Moon's Lions record is certainly good ....I would point out that Miron Bleiberg also coached Lions to Premierships before coaching the Roar ...just sayin'

Have just noticed Pourre has deleted his Twitter profile. Wonder when that happened and if it was a result of all the social media back and forth that went on before Robbie left.

“...Redcliffe Dolphins rugby league club received a $500,000 community sport infrastructure grant (CSIG) for female facilities, despite not offering women’s teams above the under 12s division. According to a leaked version of Sport Australia’s assessment, the project in the Queensland marginal seat of Petrie received a score of 65, below the cut-off of 74 which the auditor general determined would have been required for funding if former sports minister Bridget McKenzie had not intervened in the program....
Sport Australia told Guardian Australia the CSIG grant was “for the construction of two new unisex change-rooms and an officials change-room”, which was co-funded by the club. “This project was to provide appropriate facilities for female-users of the venue now and into the future, including as participants, officials, committee members and volunteers,” it said. According to the link provided for registrations on its website, accessed on Thursday, Redcliffe rugby league club allows girls to play both contact and non-contact in the under 5, under 9 and under 12 age categories. But in the 13-16, 17-18 and 19+ brackets, the club does not appear to accept female players. Guardian Australia has contacted the club for comment....
“Our change-rooms were built at a time when only men played here and are very adequate for that purpose,” chief executive Tony Murphy said. “However they do not provide the additional privacy or amenities we’d like to give the growing number of female athletes competing at the Dolphins.” “Along with women’s rugby league and touch, we have had the Brisbane Roar W-League here on several occasions, and cater to our female players with some temporary measures in the dressing sheds. This isn’t sustainable long term.” Sport Australia said the Dolphins’ stadium was also “used for other sports such as football, rugby union and Oztag”. “It is an important community facility, set in a multisport precinct, and is used for everything from school to elite competitions.” Asked why the club received $500,000 despite a score of 65, a Sport Australia spokesman replied: “Sport Australia is not providing further detail on individual applications.”...
Its purpose was “to provide a large multipurpose sports stadium capable of hosting large-scale sporting events such as Football Federation Australia grand finals, encouraging greater engagement in sport, including more female rugby players”....”

That entire stadium has been built on public money, it’s a great little stadium - but 11,500 capacity for a RL club that averages less than 500 is questionable.
The real issue for me remains why football in Brisbane cannot get something similar

It will be very interesting to see the line up, for me the style of play was boring to say the least. If not for Jamie Young it would have been a disaster. Also there is a player in this squad who has been cast aside , for political reason with the former duo UK coaches. But I’m a great believer if they change there style and attack with right formation, The results will be favourable. My opinion

That’s so not even close to reality, you’re stuck in last season.
Roar have one of (if not the best) defences in the competition.
Granted it wasn’t the most “entertaining” of football that’s only an Australian problem where people want to be entertained by sport so change the rules of codes constantly rather than being entertained by the competition between two teams.

Agree with that. I bloody enjoyed knowing that our manager and team actually cared about the result, and that if we scored we were a good chance of winning because we’d do what it took to defend the lead.

Ask yourself another question do you believe O’ Neil would have left Roar he new these fowl mouth individuals where leaving. I guess the intel from within Burnley is wrong. No disrespect meant .

Apart from the fact your response has nothing to do with my post, a simple search would show you that only two keepers have made FEWER saves than Young this season. https://www.a-league.com.au/stats-centre#!/playershttps://www.a-league.com.au/stats-centre#!/playersOr perhaps the intel from the A-league stats centre is wrong?:

Young has indeed saved good shots on target....as have all others.....that's the Keepers job ! however if you have a leaky defence then doesn't matter whose in the net he's not gonna save the team too often.

I am hoping we have not lost too much cohesion over the break. They worked hard to continuously improve throughout the season and obviously were at the point where they could start challenging for a decent spot in the finals. Maybe it is easy to forget how effectively we were playing so long ago, but I am both nervous and excited about today's game. Come on you Roar!

To be completely honest, I had forgotten that we had a problem conceding goals in the first 15 minutes. I have slipped out of the habit of fearing for the first 25 minutes of every game. It was a fantastic cross that beat us, and a player running with intent into space - but still conceding early. We showed enough tonight to know that we have more and better things ahead, but how we missed a dominant striker this game.
When I wear their colours, I am the club.
