Always made too many handling errors. He is probably worth keeping given the nature of the rule changes but not for too much. If the dragons are offering him more than good luck to him. I don't believe Tolman is asking for an upgrade. He is already being paid way more than he is worth as he signed when Hasler was around and Hasler rated him one of the best props in the comp. So given I expect this to be his last season and considering Elliott may leave it doesn't give us much depth in the backrow. Stimson comes back but he didn't look impressive earlier this season. We'd definitely need to recruit one or two props if we plan on continuing to play Thompson at lock. Can we please not even consider Tolman. Enough of sponging off our gravy train. Let him go to the Sharks - if they take him. Better still....let the Roosters have him

I really don’t think it fair to put Elliots improved season down to being off contract... Has always given 100% he is just improving in most aspects of his as he matures... His best tears as a forward are still ahead of him...

I've said before and I still believe it that if Elliot was coached by Bellamy he would be right in Origin mix and probably have already played it.
It's the danger of dismissing Elliot so easily. Maybe Tom can get the best out of him to turn him into an Origin type player, maybe not. But to dismiss him so easily is setting ourselves up to be bitten in the arse as one of those players we'll regret letting go.
Of course the price has to be right, but we shouldn't just throw him out with the bathwater thinking there's a better and cheaper replacement.

The cheapest players are nearly always home grown, everyone is replaceable, but often a replacement is not as good or costs more. I think the issue is Elliott wants to play semi final footy and make rep teams. That was always the danger in fixing the cap mess the way we did, players can get tired of losing an restless. So first off Tom and our recruitment has to convince players we are heading north.

NSW blooded twice as many players as Qld during Qld's domination. This would mean twice as many bonuses for NSW.

Love what Arthur Laundy had to say..... he wants in & will do anything for the club & players! Great stuff! Article up just now on SMH that Andrew Hill said the club is NOT after Addo Carr. He said the club wants another prop ( that’s goodbye Tolman then) a playmaker & another backline player.
Can’t believe there was NO mention of a bloody No9 in the article.
Couple of English guys being looked at & the club IS interested in Jack Bird if the Broncos tipped in $500k out of his $900k contract to get the deal over the line.

Always made too many handling errors. He is probably worth keeping given the nature of the rule changes but not for too much. If the dragons are offering him more than good luck to him. I don't believe Tolman is asking for an upgrade. He is already being paid way more than he is worth as he signed when Hasler was around and Hasler rated him one of the best props in the comp. So given I expect this to be his last season and considering Elliott may leave it doesn't give us much depth in the backrow. Stimson comes back but he didn't look impressive earlier this season. We'd definitely need to recruit one or two props if we plan on continuing to play Thompson at lock. Elliot has gone okay but he's never struck me as anything other than a fringe first grader. If someone wants to get into a bidding war for him then they're welcome to him. Agree 100%.

Well I heard this... ”Phone tennis and it was me future coach so I’m glad I picked up”... ”Coach Tom is the right fit for the place and it’s really exciting”.... ”Bulldogs supporter since 4 or 5”... ”at 25 I have to consider other offers”..., So for mine there was nothing in that interview that says he’ is closer to leaving than staying... If the Dragons offer him a stupid deal then it has to be considered... But the sell for us is easy if we’re close to their coin... Were on the way up, chance to be a part of something special, chance to play under Tom and not Mary, Captain after Jacko retires, oh and don’t be a Klem... So I wait her hear what u want to hear as an Elliot hater, or u based your post on TK comments as I alleged in the first instance...

+x+xJack bird ? He be a risk BUT the broncos look like to part ways with Anthony millford & are looking for anyone to take bird & Milford Crazy to think Milford is only 26... A fresh start in a team with an organising 7 may do him some good... So not us... Bird a risk, an even greater risk if we intend to re-sign Foz... Milford was great at fullback for Canberra and when he first went to the Broncos. Then the coach changed his position. These days when they put him back to fullback he doesn't have it. If he runs a bit more he is a good running 5/8 , no doubting his natural talent. Thing with Bird and Milford is both are risk, but both offer a attacking threat that we don't have. Foz is already a gamble we can't afford too many. I would probably sign Milford at the right price and play him initially at 14. When Foz is injured he can replace Foz. It is a gamble but not a sportsbet 100,000 to 1 gamble. Like all longshots if we win, we win big. But we have to be able to afford to lose. Elliott sounds like the issue is money, so maybe there is a deal that can be done, or we are sticking to our valuation. Coming off a serious injury like that there is no guarantee his 21 form will match his 20 form. He could even surprise and go better, but my hunch is worse. Again it is another gamble and that is a good reason to stick to our price.
