Honestly think the midfield is light-as at the moment.

+xHonestly think the midfield is light-as at the moment. Featherweight, particularly in the goals department. Macca is going to have to have 20 goal plus season. Mells and Akbari have never scored at senior level. Daley has scored 8 in 5 seasons and O’Shea got one all last season.

Roar have Ridenton training with them even though he is not wanted by the Moonman. Just sign him up again. There is Lesiotis out there as well.

No news is good news? I don’t know what the answer is - Roar seem to fly under the Media radar unless there is a crisis but surely there’s something so done could write about lol??

+xHonestly think the midfield is light-as at the moment. I would take Ibini and Ugarkovic from the jets. that would round out the squad pretty well i think.

It would (we all know they’re going to WSW’s of course) but they are the type of signings this squad needs - it’s not a bad one, just incomplete atm

Wish I was excited but I'm not.
Dont see the squad being any better than last season, which was ok but I'd hoped we could improve on last season not just tread water.

With 12 weeks to go there’s still time to bolster this (17 man?) squad but there’s currently no rumours to that effect. So will they?

Backs are fine but a 6 and 8 needed badly Imo 8 is presumably O’Shea and Akbari as back up 6 is anyone’s guess .... most likely Ridenton - who is a shoe-in looking at the current squad even though he’s not contracted 👀 then it’s a question of (lack of) depth.
Agree the 6 is problematic, but I’d say 9 more than 8 is needed. ,

+xClub apparently planning to fill the two remaining visa players plus one more Aussie player signing. That sounds promising. You would think with covid rampant elsewhere in the world we might be a chance at getting players who otherwise might not consider coming here. If the club is serious about a potential AFC place I would expect an asian federation player would be on the cards (they don't count under the AFC rules as an overseas player do they?).
When I wear their colours, I am the club.

That’s not what I was told yesterday (in a meeting with club re membership pricing and where games will be played next season etc - they’re doing member comms later this week, on Wednesday I think) Theres three players in consideration, and Ridenton isn’t one of them ... two in Europe and an AFC player BUT that’s as much as I know

Nice to know,we are looking at two Visa players and an Australian. We lost Inman and AAH.Also AON earlier and Neville who was useful. I hope that the impending Independence brings a different mindset ,where clubs can seriously think about building value in their intangible assets, that used to defer straight to FFA.
We need a good DM who can breakup play, hold the ball and get it forward. We need a fast winger who can score and can help fast counterattacking. If Macca is going to play striker,we need an AM assuming JOS will be playing deeper with a DM.

Checked on Neville - he’ll still count on the squad list as he’ll be back in March so they’ll have to band-aid that position for three months.

Can confirm all games are the Dolphin Stadium next season and for the foreseeable future, Source is old colleague at the club. Looks like there will be a cull of backroom staff soon.

Roar are one of the few clubs benefitting from the crisis - the move away from Suncorp Stadium is a massive financial boost to the club with a likely positive cash flow impact of around $2.5m through a combination of reduced stadium expenses and an actual ability to make a profit on game day.
The reduction in distribution from the tv rights directly affects the payments to players and there’s never been any surplus to fund “backroom staff” anyway so (the few) staff thry do have should be unaffected.
