+xInitial thoughts. NSW should start McGuinness and have Cook come off the bench. At hooker or lock McGuinness should stiffen up the defence. Cook will have more impact coming on fresh after 20-30 mins. Gutherson isn't a centre, more than handy back up fullback. Mcguiness is rubbish. Cook is the man, you just have to get him confident enough to make his plays. He came into his own in the last 15mins. He was probably waiting for his halves to do the job prior. Qld dominated the game and field position. It would have been a travesty to have lost that game. But NSW wasnt far behind. The enthusiasm and home crowd and atmosphere was the difference.

I dont know who captained the team after Teddy went off, but I actually thought NSW would have been better served with Gutho as captain. I know he barely makes the team but he is the best captain out of all the NSW players - even ahead of Teddy.

Good fullback, but he hasn't played centre in years. The problem is playing one position in club football and a different one at SOO. If he can fill in at hooker then potentially a good bench player intead of McGuinness.

It would have been Cook presumably as at the press conference.Again picking players out of position is not the best option as is not having a reserve who can hold his own in the backs,

I wasn't able to watch the State of Origin but have been reading about it since and the number of seemingly farcical decisions just seems to be rising. The latest one I read about was the successful captain's challenge regarding an incorrect call made by the referee with 10 or so seconds. Surely the fact that challenge was successful overrode the full time whistle which only went off as the result of a refereeing error....that "incident" seemed like a comedy of errors. It is okay to say NSW wouldn't have had time to pack the scrum but...

It is okay to say NSW wouldn't have had time to pack the scrum but... The referring was ordinary at best, QLD seemed to get all the calls, until the last 10 mins. But there is plenty NSW should have done better. For example, Brown off the bench only contibutes a bit of grubby niggle, Pap-en-housen should have been on the bench. NSW were too flat in attack, the forwards didn't aim up. It wasn't as bad as some of the ref performances in the past, but a long way short of capable. Am I the only one who thinks a deaf, half-blind 80 year old would do a better job than our current refs? Refs are influenced by the crowd, that is home ground advantage, but it seems to be getting worse.

Suburban Grounds
The NRL & Peter Vlandys completely missing the mark with the proposed standing on suburban grounds the heartland of community and the presence of the suburban warfare of rugby league
There is a distinct difference between the club's indicated that have a retrospective piece of community built into there DNA. Fans aren't asking for mini-mega stadiums that are devoid of character without a hill or local keepsake that makes their home ground feel so unique.. the recent conceptual development of Manly Sea Eagles home ground being right on the money! But the association and ownership of a team has to relate to the people within said community teams like nthqldcowboys SeaEagles PenrithPanthers have the unique advantages of stability in their location and community base.
The development of the game, leading fans back to the grandstand has to relate to the people within the local jurisdiction allowing that sense of ownership developing access to the club.
Our fans thrive on the passion that is built on the back of hard work and development to install rugby league as the greatest game on earth they deserve nothing less than the best when optioning that piece of turf that stands for so much more than a few bums on seats!
Create a future that represents what our game is all about!
REF - Centre of Excellence seaeagles.com.au
As it stands what team plays out of Liverpool?
The NRL has missed the mark entirely, nothing will change by making multiple clubs play out of the same venue to ensure these grounds are adequately used based on funding.. There has to be a reflection on community and that's just not happening with the current plans. With the current infrastructure spending to create jobs and focus on our economy the conversation has to be had to get the right amount of funding to do the right thing by these projects and get it done right instead of minor upgrades that do nothing for Rugby League

They are full of shit. The bunker reviewed the incident and it was found to be a dropped ball. The correct call was made and hane was finished.

Ne c'est pa?

Ne c'est pa? The challenge was successful but the ref had let the game clock run and decided that there wasn't time for the scum. A 50/50 call IMO, a scrum and one tackle to win the game is more entertaining, lots of times that is what happens. But if NSW played better they should have had the game won by thst stage. The important points are no dogs players injured, and most importantly the TV cameras didn't pan to a shot of Dman in his jocks.
