+xOver 2000 tests played... 54 scores over 350 in 4th innings... (including timeless tests)... Only 11 of those 53 resulted in a win.... So does knowing what you have to score in the 4th inning increase the likelihood of victory???....

Its irrelevant. We have 1 Test to win and anything other than a win is not good enough.  It's like having a 90% completion rate in a rugby league GF but lose. No one gives a shit about your 90% completion rate. They only remember that you lost.

+x+x+x+x+x+xLike I have said many times over..... we must win this Test to not lose the series and that means we need to put India in if we get the chance and if we end up batting first and get India out cheaply we MUST enforce a follow on otherwise we run the risk of losing the series due to time. So why would any Aust Capt, player, or fan want to win the toss and give them what they want, and what gives them the greatest chance to achieve a result in their favour?  Whoever wins the toss on Fri will bat first, I doubt even a foot long green top in 100% humidity would change that.
And it will be the ONLY correct decision.
But we are not talking to a C, player, or fan.... We are talking about a bloke that thinks he could win aNRL premiership with 13 fullbacks in his starting side... The only reason why there arent wins from batting second is because there havent been enough of the scenarios.  I’d dare say plenty of tests that went to a fourth innings were an opportunity for a win for the side batting... just very few of them resulted in a win..., And your new best mate crapviz is definitely stupid... Maybe look at some actual stats instead of relying on crapviz...,
Also, you keep crapping on about how batting second gives a team the best chance of winning but are now saying those winning scenarios don’t eventuate...  No. I never said best chance of winning. I said best chance of getting to a definite result by not losing time to weather or unnecessary runs. Had we won the SCG test, we'd be pretty rosy and it wouldn't matter. But now that we must win, we need to tread carefully and make sure there is a result in this last Test.  Your best response on this topic is that the Gabba usually has results inside 4 days let alone 5. But if  the wicket is a batter's paradise, and 3.5 days are lost to 1st innings, we better hope we are batting last to have any chance. Don’t make me scroll back and bump that post... cos I can’t be fvcked... your posts about cricket are the equivalent of 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag...

I’d reckon a post conoaring footy completion rates with cricket stats is irrelevant..., I can’t figure out if you’re a complete trioll or just plain stupid some days... +x+x+x+x+x+x+xLike I have said many times over..... we must win this Test to not lose the series and that means we need to put India in if we get the chance and if we end up batting first and get India out cheaply we MUST enforce a follow on otherwise we run the risk of losing the series due to time.
Statistics are not a pointer to the future but interestingly over 10 years the win percentages  in Brisbane are. Bat first 33% Bat second 55.6% Draw 11% Those stats also show Australia is Australia has won 100% of those wins... So if we use overall stats Markis original assertion that batting second gives the greatest chance of winning is wrong... If we use global warming type stats his revised assertion that batting first gives the greatest likelihood of a result being achieved is wrong in Brisbane...

Bott off which support the stat of Marki being wrong 99% of the time, with his comment about your post sounding like an insurance ad the 1%... ;)

I'm still not happy about the Hill sacking.
The more I read it seems to confirm my suspicion of amateur hour petty politics.

Looking at the the composition of the board I think I know why -

 Norman Gunston
 Basil Fawlty
 Donald Trump
 Donald Duck
 Stan Laurel
 Oliver Hardy
 Groucho Marx

But at least this new board is better than the Dibbies.

I’m not convinced he was “sacked”. Pushed maybe, but I don’t think it took much. He was ready to go, and they were ready to let him go.

+x+xI'm still not happy about the Hill sacking.
I’m not convinced he was “sacked”. Pushed maybe, but I don’t think it took much. He was ready to go, and they were ready to let him go. I am going by media reports, which we know might not be accurate. Peponis also weighed in saying it was a bad decision, and that is what I am talking about. Egos saying too much in public, and putting their agenda ahead of the club. Hill will probably wind up at the Storm and do very well, meantime I think his replacement will be a step backwards.

+xmeantime I think his replacement will be a step backwards. Don’t know who it is yet, might be Steve Hanson. .... probably not. But anyway, don’t get too caught up about Hill. Competent... yeah I’d say so, irreplaceable - not even close. It was just a square peg and round hole thing in the end.

His best chance of securing something better is right now... he can talk to how he turned leagues greatest club around without a game in 21 being played... I think his deal was three years so it’s not a sacking it’s just not an extension... I reckon he had something on the boil...  it’s also a reasonable position we are in now to attract an equal or better CEO... They will be the face of our next premiership in ‘22!!!!... mutual agreement in my humble opinion...

Let’s help msm out with a possible fabrication cos that’s their thing....I heard Uncke Arthur was not a fan of Hill and wants to bring his preferred candidate in to lead the Dogs, continuing the clubs history of Bored savagery and in- fighting....
