Barrett's attitude has me on the wrong side atm

declared he's cleaning house (which is fine) ( i only see 2 players off contract worth keeping) but basically put writing on the wall for season 2021

with a decent coach and playing group willing to fight week in week out we should be pushing for the fringe of the 8 - definatly winnable games throughout

CARN THE DOGS!!

intrepidarts, I totally agree regarding the new rules. I really hope that some poor cvnt/s don't drop dead of a heart attack. Why speed the game up it will just become a tackle version of touch footy. Letting the game create a natural flow where the players have just enough time to think but if they react too slow they're fvcked, now that's what I call exciting football. AND bring back the scrum in its proper form where the ball is fed into the centre of the scrum tunnel and both hookers can have a crack at raking for the ball.

New rules Suk they have been invented by 50 60 yr old men who played the game at a different level and were sucking in the big ones with all the stoppages that were inclusive of the game.. they think because player fitness levels are higher they should be pushed harder..

Solution is to lower interchange and develop natural limitations..

I've  noticed with Wakeham he tends to fade out of the game when paired with a dominant halves partner. Last year this was obvious when he had probably his best  game after losing his partner and  assuming  control.  On Saturday he was, apart from a few tackles, virtually invisible  in the first half.  Immediately after half time he got involved and was very good.  I suspect Barrett got in his ear  at half  time. This will be the benefit we get from Barrett, as with Penrith maximising the output of both halves, not having  one totally dominant a one making up the numbers.

I think Wakeham has the ability to be a good half or hooker, but you have pinpointed an issue he does get less involed when playing with a more experienced player.

IMO Flanagan has a few limitations, we need his halves partner to do some of the kicking and spark some of the attack, His edge was a mess in defense first half against the Sharks, but all players were equally to blame.
Defensive combinations should improve.

All 3 of our tries had some good footy in the and Flanagan was involved in the first 2, so his game was a mixture as was the team performance.

He was smart enough to leave, or truthful enough to be sacked.

I've found the nrl.com articles to be usually reasonable & consistent. They're not going to trash their own product but they don't sugar coat every article until they're sickly sweet either. Just football articles about football without all the rubbish.

With the Telegraph, if Aaron Woods drove over an ant the front page would be "Canterbury player on murderous rampage" or something like that. It never ends.

In latest E.L news.

Volvo is going fully electric by 2030. India is trying to outbid China to have Tesla cars manufactured there. And one of the big Japanese car companies... can’t remember which one... has criticised the Australian Gov for being behind on EL car readiness and infrastructure.

It’s coming, it won’t be stopped, and having already missed the boat, we can’t afford to pretend there is no f***in’ boat.

Yes if you are a  bad driver, a Volvo at least gives every other driver fair warning and time to change their route or find another parking spot.

Every single Volvo driver I encountered was abysmal, evolution at work, survival of the species.

Having copped a speeding fine last week (clocked at 57 in a 50 zone on O'Riordan st) I agree with others in that the nanny state that is NSW needs to first figure out how to slug its citizens for maximum $$$ before it fully supports the uptake in EV transport.

Another example is Andrew Constance having no appetite to consider legalizing E-scooters.

The last thing these guys want is to lose $$$ from fuel excises or insurance levies....
