Ok Dietz, here's your chance...
Just cut them to bits, draw the fullback and score.....

+xGeez Barrett spoke very confidently on Fox a short time ago. He even mentioned coming away with a win with a sense of nonchalance. Get on people. GET ON! Thanks for killing us

The six again has to be the most inconsistent rule application in the history of the game. Game to game, ref to ref, half to half, tackle to tackle. No consistency. On a par with the old scrum penalties.

We look good but still lacking the go forward. It is hard having that many six again calls go against us. But good to see the big hits

Just havent handled the wet conditions well enough. Being down by 8 with the breeze now in our face will be a tough task.
Real poor ball control from Allen and Cotric. Cant believe we didnt kickna 40-20.
The positives are K Flanagan who is playing well in attack and rushing in defence (although cost us with that last try), the angled runs by Elliott causing disarray in the defence line and Hetherington making good metres.
Also note the genius of Dietz scooting from dummy half after a Cotric quick PTB.
Interesting to see Meaney swap into centres with Cotric on wing.
We really needed to be a good 6 points up with the wind in our faces. We will now need a high completion rate, very good kicking game and need to win the territorial battle to have a chance.
Its disapointing that the weather has made this game harder than it should be....

It’s these 6 again calls and simple handling errors allowing Knights back in it

It’s these 6 again calls and simple handling errors allowing Knights back in it Our players have never been able to adapt to gameday variables. With the 6 again, it's clear that we are trying to slow the ruck down, but FFS if you are getting pinged in 6 agains by a lopsided count, you need to fekking adjust and play to the refs timing. I blame Jacko as captain who isnt telling his players to play to the refs calls.

We need a captain.
We need to sign a player who knows the rules, knows how to approach and speak to the ref, know how to speak to his players, know when to challenge or not.
We dont have anyone that fits the bill.
Make Flanagan captain in the interim.
But find someone please....
Please

That allowed quick play the balls. Every side gets caught out when they lose the forward battle. Nothing to do with Jacko

One positive.... Cotric has made more tackle breaks in his 1st game for the dogs than Holland/Montoya did all year

Unfortunately there is no one that screams for it, but I feel when you havent got a captain, the smartest footballer in your team should be captain. And that is Flanagan or Hoppa but Hoppa too quiet and away from the middle. Must be Flano.

Knights smashed us thru the middle.... only Elliott looked to make some sort of dent on the edges! A lot of work to do up front with David Furner!
simple dropped balls led to tries...!
my biggest gripe tonight was that we didn’t even look like executing 2nd phase play with offloads nor was there anyone running up in support!

Not sure what TB can learn from this game coz she shot ourselves in the foot with poor ball security, cheap turnovers and inability to play within the ref rules or speed of game.
We definitely get a spark with Dietz at hooker but he wont play 80mins so need a decent rotation with him. Katoa was particularly bad today. His missed try chance was a perfect example of not respecting the conditions or Murphys law.
The only other positive I see is our sweeping attack to our left side with Cotric breaking tackles or straightening the attack. Its probably our go-to move.
Averillo didnt have a good game today. He'll get better and is better but has put doubt in TB mind and opened the door to Lewis /Wakeham.

Nothing to do with Jacko Size of the pack and the defense of Flanagan, Hoppa and DWZ consistent issues in the trail and round 1. Forwards were no bigger last year and were competitive. Reseeve grade won well, so maybe some players impressed. Too early to judge, the game swung with posession after handling errors. I hope Baz can fix the defence, we have a lot to work on.

No, what I think is funny is u would still assert after watching this game 17 backs would beat 17 forwards... Get back to supporting the rorters and give us a chance of a few wins...

But I do think we might need to let go a few of our props and bring in some new ones. Hethrington was by far our best prop and he is a bench warmer in most other teams.
I hate Klemmer but would love to have him back. Hopefully we have a couple of young props coming through

Our line speed is still absent. I know its Rnd 1 with unfit players and heavy heavy track but the signs werent good. The amount of post-contact metres we concede vs what we gain must be the highest in the league. It's like we are trying to catch eggs and allow the momentum of the runner decelerate into our tackles rather than smash them dead in their tracks. God forbid we bend then backwards. And in attack, we get completely dominated 8 times out of 10. That kind of play will have you in contention for the spoon pretty much every year.

Round 2 Panthers at Bankwest... hmmm ... you never know.
I don't think we were over confident or lacking confidence. We just need to tidy up our game and build combinations.
