There were a few Aussies in the Afghan team

Kur Kur of Adelaide City got called up by South Sudan.

Looking at their most recent squad, they called up just the one in Zelfy Nazary who plays for Dandenong Thunder.

Matthew Davies started for Malaysia a few days ago in a 4-0 loss to the UAE.

Former Jets players Abimanyu and Krasniqi both started for Indonesia and Malaysia with the former getting an assist.

Former A-League players Roly Bonevacia and Michael Maria both appeared in Curacao's 8-0 win over the British Virgin Islands with Maria scoring a brace. 

I was wondering where roly ended up 

Currently a free agent too.

Wouldn't mind seeing him back in the AL.

Newcastle Jets wish to congratulate Valentino Yuel on his selection in the South Sudan national team.

The 26-year-old left for national team duty this week.

The men’s team will play Jordan on June 21 as part of the 2021 FIFA Arab World Cup in Doha.

Yuel will be with the squad until July.

Maria was unappreciated at AU- a good player but often played in the wrong position.

He left the role and now Patrick Kluivert is in charge.

They played this morning and lost 2-1 to Panama. Maria started while Darryl Lachlan came off the bench.

Hiddink hasn’t left. Apparently he has (or recently had) covid, and Kluivert is filling in while he recovers. They’re expecting him back for the Gold Cup later in the year.
