+xPisshead Buzz reporting:- Dragons want pathetic Floppa immediately for a mid season transfer Even with the injuries/Covid-19 idiots etc…. I say let him go now! I can’t understand how he’s escaped being dropped under T baz when he along with Waddell, Katoa & others have done sweet FA for the entire season & continue to get selected Unfortunately there haven’t been many players better than Hoppa in the team.

He was one of our most stable and reliable players afew years ago but last year and in particular this year, he has been rubbish. Dragons just want a bargain depth player. If they are open to a swap with Dufty, we are all in.

+x+xQuestion needs to be asked to T Baz….. why the heck isn’t Renouf, Ogden or Lewis ain’t playing? Not so much that we have any chance of winning the bloody game, but to at least be a little more competitive and defensively tighter than the shambles that’s currently unfolding right now…. Anyone called fu#king Katoa should never play 1st grade for the dogs again The way things are going Lewis should even be considered for the centres. The Flanno, Manu, Katoa combination are turnstiles. Even Jacko is having a very poor game, something I never expected to say. I am not sure if Katoa was really to blame as Flanno and Manu were up and out of line and he was left posted every time with two or three players at him. Why is the winger to blame when it is the infield players causing the problem? Flanno proved again why he was dropped. Manu tried but maybe a bit too hard. He is a goer.

Coaches on rotation with no roster absolutely farcical Dean Pay was a good coach.. Members are fickle and demand turnstyle leadership on Board etc.. Players want to play in stronghold winning culture!
Falling into NRL trap of chasing our tail when it comes to decision making.
This rounds off what has been a very testing 5years for the club.. things have to start to gain momentum the process can be painful but you expect the association of change to format results

But a weaker squad last year ultimately achived bettef results. Defense and energy was better under Pay, the attack is better this year. But a lot of that stems from Thompson, Meaney and Averillo, our other forwards and centres haven't had a lo if impact. We are stuck with Baz now, just have to job he can do the job. Getting a team from the bottom to the top is hard.

+xWould anybody consider signing Milford a good idea? I would say as fullback / 14 if his attitude is right and the price is right. He has to understand NRL isn't guaranteed, hevhas to earn it. Coul easily develop into a Nicho Hynes type player at his best he was a gun fullback.

The half has to organise the defence on their edge, Hoppa and Flanno were a shambles, Flanno and Manu were a shambles. Flanno tries hard and can tackle, but team mates don't seem to be on the same page. While Averillo is a brilliant attacker his defence can also be ordinary and Hoppa has been ordinary most of the year. Part of it is also down to the second rowers, we don't have experienced second rowers who are good defenders. Playing Jacko in the middle is the right move. This is frustrating as it has been a problem most of the year.

Jacko might have a long service extension, but the next contact should be a bit lower.

We were disappointed even though on paper our game was a mismatch. The Raiders probably thought that they were a good chance of winning.

Yes, he is just busy teaching the Roosters, the Raiders, and the Cowboys. I've never seen Dr Marki and the defensive coach in the same room.

I just hope Barrett learns from his mistakes made today. As a young coach in charge of this team, its expected he will try things and they wont succeed. But he needs to own the mistakes, learn from them and ensure they dont become frequent.

Under the new rules…. A Dean Pay coached team would look worse no doubt about it.
Back then we were able to give away the cheap penalty or two, re-set our defensive line & back ourselves to hold out the opposition & try and win games by scoring 2 tries. Can’t do that now.

In previous years, you only needed about 3 or 4 clever players in your team, the rest could be robots. Nowdays you can win with about 2 or 3 of these dumb players but the rest have to be smart. In the lead up to Manlys first try, we allowed a break along the left wing to give them field position and then gave away a 6 again on 4th tackle (Jacko to blame) followed by 2 penalties. At 6-0 down it was clear we had to settle the game down and instead cop another try. After the 3rd, which a replica of the 2nd we were shot to bits. Manly senses it and turned the game into a training run. We need to be smarter and start games smarter. Even if we cop a try, we cant just tire ourselves with repeat sets of 6 due to stupidity or some intent to slow the game. We are not a team that can defend mistakes or multiple attacking raids.

We will never know but I tend to agree. When defending up snd in the team needs good line speed, if the opposition wins contract at the ruck is is very hard to get back into position in time. On the edges the team needs to swap to up hold slide when the line speed isn't fast enough. I give Des and Cherry credit for spotting a likely weakness and exploiting it. All 3 young players seemed happy to get the run, if we are thinking of including them in the 30 next season then the experiment wasn't a dumb idea. I think Schoupp and Wakeham need to come straight back in and the team needs to work on our edge defence. It is all about next season, I still think we might get the odd win, but the team was surprisingly flat, I thought that the young guys might have lifted the energy levels. Appart from defence, starting games well is critical for us for the rest of the season, we can't recover from a slow start most of the time and in games this season the team that gets on top tends to stay on top. Appart from that it is all about attitude and energy, the team needs to fire up.

Burton and JAC will add a lot, at times Averillo is our only significant attacking weapon. A team with only one threat is easy to defend.

With DWZ gone, Thompson is apparantly our highest paid.
The amazing thing is how few Panthers are on the list. They only have athan Cleary (No.11, $940,000), Viliame Kikau (No.67, $635,000) and Apisai Koroisau (No.95, $470,000). Shows how well they've done building a great squad through Juniors.

However they have set up a very good young team. We need to do the same. But we still need at least one or two experienced players in the spine. They can be replaced by juniors eventually but we need them now.
Most likely we will sign Brandon Smith or somebody similar fir 2023. I would also throw long deals at Haas, Paps etc

At that point, all players off contract will demand premium money for each position because lets face it, half or 3/4 of the panthers team is either the best or in top 3 of their relative positions. I think they need to win a premiership either this year or next. Will still be top 4 after that but will be closer to the pack.
