+x+x+x+x+x+xare we getting a U23 comp ? Don't think so. Due to Arnold 4 or 5 u23s allowed in A-League NPL squads from next season. I can't recall if there will be an allowance for 4 or 5u23s in u20 match day squads. Academy sides are doing quite well as it is, hopefully adding 4-5 under 23’s doesn’t see the academy sides all at the top of the NPL1 ladder. Currently, In NPL1 Northbridge (aka Macarthur Bullsh1tters) 10th and Sydney FC 12th In NPL2, WS Wanderers 2nd and CCM 6th. In NPL4, Newcastle Jets 2nd He probably meant to youth teams because talking that way about the seniors teams is clearly off. In the U14 to u18s based on Championship NPL Youth 1.1 (top division) 1st WS Wanderers 6th CC Mariners 8th Sydney FC NPL Youth 1.2 (2nd tier) 11th Northbridge (Macarthur Bullsh1tters) NPL Youth 2.1 (3rd tier) 1st Newcastle Jets And to emphasise, Macarthur Bullsh1tters bought out Northbridge to get an NPL1 team un case they made Asian Champions League. And their academy teams are shite. I'm pretty sure the Northbridge youth are not Macarthur boys. The only Macarthur FC footballers are in the first grade Northbridge team.

PL1 Sutho, whats doing there mate ? That was a very good Manly win vs Rockdale. APIA have really turned their season around. WTF going on at the Wolves. Bloody SFC result wasn't expected. Marconi not looking good. BC and SU58 fighting out the top. PL2 Pretty tight top 5. Alot of snakes and ladders there to occur. StGFA on top having lost only 2 from 14 - not a bad season to date with many on their heals. Mounties/Spartans/Hills likely to stay planted at the bottom. PL3 Rydalmere showing same as last covid season the Club to beat. Dully is a surprise compared to seasons past whereas their stronger neighbours of the past the re named Inner West have nose dived. The 2 Bankstowns will be vying to climb higher. GRM need to improve to stay vying for a top 4 finish. IWH's definately staying ont he bottom,Berries likely and couple of others will be around that mix int he end. PL4 Fraser as expected on top, 3 draws keeps them within close distance to the chasing Jets. Then a nice 6point gap to the others chasing ie Camden Tigers and Parra. Bottom, Western NSW will finsh there and 3 others will be tossing it up, poor ol Rage one of them.

+xhas there been any talk about this season kicking off again? as it currently stands, i dont think this season will resume at all. I don’t think there’ll be any resumption whilst lockdown is in place. Semi pro league not gonna be seen as essential nor are players able to stay in a bubble of any sorts. Just gonna have to wait it out.

Not sure how we can finish 6 rounds and finals without risking the welfare of players (rush into games and/or several games a week). Hopefully they don't expect people to play into October.

yer season is not looking good how it will all end up. Agree re the players welfare, match fitness gone down the tube, IF and when we ever get out of lockdown how are they going to schedule games in the remaining window. Real issue as well being there is the whole changes planned re each DIV for next season..... Back on 2 July my comp being the NWSF our management got the below intended re schedule BUT as we know our current circumstance I doubt anything more is going to happen for the grass roots comps. NPL another matter and we all wait and wait on the zombie control outcome. - return to play next week 17 July 2021 - play ALL rounds (i.e. Rnds 11, 12, 13 & 14)
- plus only 2 Finals games and GF on Sat 28 Aug
- return to play next week 24 July 2021 - play ALL rounds (i.e. Rnds 11, 12, 13 & 14)
- plus only 1 Finals (knock-out semi) game and GF on Sat 28 Aug
From my perspective, all I see is countless injuries waiting to happen, especially us weekend warriors :) As much as I'd love to get back on the park, not this way.

We received something similar from FNSW about starting training this week and playing this weekend. It would have been ridiculous to expect players to play 90 minutes after 1 week of training.

1.5 spots for promotion/relegation in a 16 team competition. The people at FNSW have no idea. I was born in the wrong state and country for football. :hehe:

What will FNSW do next :alien: I spoke to someone at Football NSW yesterday who was very confident that we'd finish the season. I don't know how - season is meant to finish at the end of August. We still have 6 rounds to go. I'm not sure if they know how to do math.

don't mind 1st past the post, like it was back in my young days...... The Minor Prem is the real winner of the comp period. Finals, I did get to enjoy playing them, it is fun brings new intensity and opportunity But they should have made sure getting the msg across the Minor Prem takes over precedence of a GF winner. Trials/pre season has got going late Oct early Nov from my recollections ?

oh ok, understand, I was on the same train of thought. Well the season can go to the end of Sept I guess, leaves little time for a break but covid is covid. Look how the eruo leagues had to suck it up without much of a break. I'm not being harsh just saying, how it goes in these unsual times. Just like covid, the strong survive, bugga if your an injury prone sportsperson not getting enough recovery/free time.

FNSW have committed to finishing all NPL competitions. They have already collected participation fee, registration fees etc. Interesting article in the Australian Financial Review on Olympic today. They seem to be in real trouble. Quite sad what Papas has done.

Nothing at all, haven't heard from our local league as well for sometime. Man, never had weekends like this with no football, I'm sure were all having massive withdrawal symptoms. Keep safe fellow Sydney footballites.

Whatever occurs I hope they make the call on going ahead with the changes for the following season of 16 team divs. Yep such is life - 3/4 of the season about done, the ones to complain are those on the cusp finishing out of the promotion spots, they'll complain even the season finished off normally. We've lost 2 seasons in effect, we just got to get on with it for overall better outcome.

We can't do it all again - especially NPL 4 clubs who have no been able to play for promotion for two seasons now.

2021 NPL NSW season set to be cancelled as the NPL Victoria match commentators Neal Symons and Michael Thompson mentioned it yesterday morning during Kickoff on Southern FM at about 13.18 into the show as that they both reckon the 2021 FFA Cup national rounds and 2021 NPL national finals and in serious question marks now as well. https://omny.fm/shows/southern-sport/kick-off-august-1st-2021
