I like him and I dont.

He seems to me as a player who hits holes at speed and that is his best attribute. Unfortunately, we dont play like that (yet) and so im struggling to see him as a good fit.

Then again, maybe we need the players to play that way in order to change the way we play....

...but this constant whingeing from the australian workforce the minute they are asked to go abit beyond the call of duty is getting ridiculous...

I'm talking about the health care and ICU resources. 

I acknowledge that they do a great job outside of pandemic and they should be further recognized (financial benefit) for their efforts during this pandemic.

But to constantly cry they are overworked and understaffed when we only have about 25% of comparable ICU admissions compared to similar western countries of same populations is just typical aussie workplace whingeing.

For goodness sake, the state government is asking them to "put in" over the next couple of months as we transition from lockdown to opening up and they are falling like a deck of cards.

Having being part of the construction of at least 6 hospitals in the Greater Sydney and Central Coast areas in the last 5 years I can back-up Gladys and NSW health when they say they have quadrupled their hospital and ICU capacities with more to come by years end. 

I think the simple solution here is for NSW state to give them a bonus over the next few months until we open up and get this virus issue stabilised. Ultimately, the whinge will have its price

Hethrington on an edge was great for us. Wakeham showed what he could do when put in charge and Avo showed what he could do when left to play off the cuff. But we played a team that put in one of the worse performances I can remember. 

Marki. You mentioned our forwards. The last time we won any stats that I could find was in 2014 when we made the Grand Final. We made the most running and kicking meters of any team. Obviously both helped us to make the Grand final.

I do recall that we barely lost the meters gained in games from 02 to 07. All from having strong hard running forwards. And in the early 90’s we certainly beat most teams up front. But we also had very good kickers in general play.

Micko, not sure what stats you got but would those be "total meters gained" or separated as "metres from forward runs" and "line break metres" or "kick metres" ?

My point with Zef is that we dont necessarily need to overhaul our forward pack with metre eaters, as you can still win the territorial battle with other means (line breaks, good kicking game, good kick chase, well operating defence line, discipline etc).

At the moment, we are poor across the board so every avenue should look for improvement. But we are bringing in speedsters next year who can make the line breaks we have been starved of last 5 years. Also, good kicking game from Burton. It's why I didnt want to lose Lewis - kicking game. Too late now I think.

The worst thing we can do is continue to trial Flanagan in the hope he can improve. It will just send us backwards. 

We also need to speak with refs during off season and understand why we cop so many ruck penalties and 6 agains. Discipline must improve but also our perceived discipline issues.

TPJ was questionable defending on an edge for the Broncos.
At least in defence I would have Thommo and Hetho on the edges, in attack players can swap around.
I watched Odgen against the Tigers, he tried very hard, but it is hard for a big unit to defend well in an up tempo game.

I was pleased Wakeham showed some of his potential.

I think Burton is most probably one of the the halves due to his long kicking game.
The other spot might be shared by Averillo and Wakeham with each guy getting a chance.
The one that misses out is a chance for 14 along with BBO and JMK.

I will be surpised if if Cook isn't first choice hooker.

Overall I think that the 22 squad is easily the best since 2015, possibly the best since 2006.
It has been a long time in the wilderness, I am looking forward to being back in our rightful place as a contender.

All of the ingedients are there, good options in the spine positions, good forward pack, fast outside backs, some footy smarts, lots of young players with plenty of improvement in them.

I think if our forwards are going forward it gives every one else time and maybe more importantly space to operate, allowing those other things you mention to happen

It was easily the best. 2009 was also very good. 

Our next years team is an improvement on 2020 but that's all you can say atm. They will have to prove they are better than any year before them.

Are you in an LGA of concern or are you a concern to the LGA (liquor and gaming authority) ?

2012 and 2009 are covered by the first part best since 2015.

Best since 2006 is possble but not certain...

We will need to see, I was very happy with the 2009 rebuild, less happy about decisions made 2013-2019.
I'm liking the current rebuild becuase most of the quality players are young, many are home grown and more good young kids are in the system.

A fool can get quick results importing experienced NRL players on backloaded contracts, then 3 years later it is a mess. I don't think Gus will allow that kind of mess.

I have always had a strong preference for talent developed in our lower grades.

Dman is an LGA of maximum concern, luckily he now worships Villi and myself, he is almost down to being a suburb of minimum concern.

Des was looking for the "quick fix" and spent lavishly in an attempt to achieve it. I think he was hoping for 2 or 3 premierships so he could boast being in the ranks of bellyache or skellator. It didn't happen and club (and fans) have felt the fallout for years. I really hope the club learned from what transpired 2012 to 2021 and have decreed that the debacle will never be repeated.

Once we had a GF team all he needed to do was focus on the lower grades knowing he would have to sacrifice some first graders who's value was too high on the open market or were simply asking for too much.

As mentioned in earlier discussions. Once you have a top 4 team that challenges, you need to start a production line and conveyor belt system where you willingly release expensive players whom you have ready made replacements in the junior ranks.

That's how you stay at the top.
Try to keep your top players and you will either fuck your SC cap up or lose your good juniors.
