24 years since I've played against those clowns and nothing has changed. (Hellenic were just as bad.)

Whole families were banned when I played there following pitch invasions, abuse of officials, fighting between spectators etc etc. LoL.

Sorry cant read the NT News articles behind a paywall (Not subscribing as not interested in news stories about crocodiles and firecrackers) but its interesting to note that the ONLY mention of Greeks in the the article you quoted and linked from ABC is your assertion that a Darwin football club is Greek.....

Darwin Olympic have been banned form entering sides in the senior men’s competition for the 2020 season
DARWIN Olympic FC have withdrawn its appeal on a season long ban for 2020, confirming the club won’t field any teams in the men’s senior competition this season.

A statement from Football NT said the federation will work with the club and its new president Peter Mousellis to ensure Olympic FC will return in the 2021 season.

The club were the NT’s representatives in the 2019 FFA Cup round of 32.

The ban came after a series of poor behaviour throughout the 2019 season.


FNT president Stuart Kenny said he was confident the club’s new leadership understood the importance “of the steps that need to be taken” to meet the competitions expectation.

“We will provide a clear pathway for the Club’s senior men’s football players to re-join the

competition for the 2021 season on the condition the club adheres to and commits to the values of football in the Northern Territory,” he said.

DOSC President Peter Mousellis said this season would signify the start of a renewed and

positive relationship with the FNT.

“We have made many great contributions to Darwin Football over the years and we accept that standards need to improve in some areas, we are focused on joining all clubs in maintaining a competitive and safe environment, making changes for the better in fostering respect to all in our football community,” he said.

“Darwin Olympic is ready to move forward and work with FNT in contributing to a stronger game here in Darwin. As the current Darwin Olympic President, I’d like to thank Stuart for his efforts in assisting the club to find a way forward for the good of the game.”

FFNT CEO Bruce Stalder believes Darwin Olympic won’t be involved in more nonsense.
ONE Darwin Olympic supporter has been banned from attending matches for 26 weeks and officials are hunting others involved in a shocking confrontation with match officials.

This disciplinary action stems from spectator aggression during a match between Olympic and Mindil Aces. Allegedly three Olympic fans descended from the grand stand following the match to threaten officials, two of them needing to be restrained.

The NT News understands that following the match, Aces players and referees required security escorts through the car park at Darwin Football Stadium to avoid aggression from Olympic associates waiting outside.

Football Federation NT CEO Bruce Stalder said it was some of the worst spectator behaviour he has seen. FFNT are still pursuing a number of other spectators who are yet to be identified.

“We have identified four people, one of which has been banned from Darwin Football Stadium for 26 weeks. There are three others who have either a fine or a suspended sanction on them,” he told the NT News.

“Most of them we have not been able to identify so far.”

These revelations come after FFNT referees elected to boycott officiating any matches involving Olympic FC for a minimum two week period.

Olympic president Charlie Kathopoulis said the fact a Mindil player had given the crowd in the main grandstand a one-finger salute post match when emotions were high, should not be discounted in the overall context of what happened.

Stalder is confident that Olympic’s behaviour will not be a poor reflection on the Darwin football community in next week’s FFA Cup match against Edgeworth.

“This is an isolated incident, we’ve had many weeks of quality football without bad behaviour. It’s a small percentage of many thousands of members that we have,” he said.

“It’s the most disgraceful thing I’ve seen in a long time, my view is that they’ve learnt their lesson and they won’t be involved in more nonsense.”

Olympic FC have been penalised competition points and Stalder said they have a sizeable suspended sanction hanging over them pending any further misconduct.

“They have received a fine and a sanction, as well as a fairly heavy suspended sanction. There has been a penalty of three points in the men’s Premier League competition, the additional suspended sanction is seven points if there is any more poor behaviour like this.”

That does make me wonder if South Melb got in trouble would you be asserting they're not Greek also?

Basically a fan that abused a ref or whatever he did only did so because he was a greasy filthy wog, not because he was a dickhead? To be perfectly honest I preferred Darwin Olympic's gyros stall over Hellenic's at this year's GleNTi Festival. But WHY WERE THERE NO CHIPS INSIDE THE WRAP?!?!

Why are you bringing stuff up that happened two years ago? Just this year Rockdale and Sydney United were involved in a brawl that was covered on MSM. I'm neither Greek, Maco or Croatian for that matter...
