Definitely going to sleep at 9pm and setting my alarm. There’s no way I’d make it straight through to the 4am final whistle.

XI from the previous encounter: Ryan, Grant, Souttar, Sainsbury, Behich, Irvine, Hrustic, Rogic, Boyle, Mabil, Taggart Subs: Mooy, Duke, Elder, Jeggo, McGree
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

+x+xDoes anyone else find it as irritating as I do that Arnie always uses the same “it was a great performance” rhetoric in the media no matter how poorly we’ve played and never acknowledges our deficiencies or underwhelming performances. Just so predictable after the Saudi game that he says “we created so many chances but the ball just wouldn’t go in tonight” which is such typical Arnie bullshit and such an inaccurate representation of the game. So frustrating listening to him. Yep it really pisses me off. It comes across as either totally ingenuous, or not having a clue. Given the Socceroos games are now on channel 10 maybe hes trying to explain to the non football public are more optimistic view of the game when the ones are watching it have a better perspective of whats going on? Who knows really.

+xPredictions? I think 3-1 win for Roos It depends on who Arnie picks. We're capable of thrashing China if he plays everyone in their best position

So frustrating listening to him. Yep, he's just not connected to reality. We've been poor for our past two games, yes playing good opponents, but still we've been tactically and technically outplayed by our opponents. What's wrong with just saying we were ok, but there's a lot of improvement and we need to execute better if we want to get direct qualification.

Behich simply has to be dropped for tonight. I don’t know how arnie can justify picking him. Elder is banging the door down

I felt he was pretty much the only player that looked remotely threatening last Thursday. Who would replace him?

Yep Australia very naughty compared to China claiming other countries waters and building artificial military bases in them The East Timorese might want to have a word with you.

Mabil is on the outer at his club and not playing hence the loss of form. He should not start.

That's annoying, 10Play doesn't work on Windows7. Ah well, off to bed and up at 12:30 (Qld time).

+xThat's annoying, 10Play doesn't work on Windows7. Ah well, off to bed and up at 12:30 (Qld time). I wasn't able to watch 10play on a vpn for the Saudi game. My hunch is that it's overloaded at peak times and my slow vpn doesn't work. Was same for Wallabies games in Australia prime time. Thankfully paramount player is brilliant so far and the YouTube or Sporttotaltv streams are great and free.

Ffs a fortunate high header's gets over the keeper who's bat's it out but the assistant flag is up and it counts for Saudi. I think it was just over despite the keeper's effort.

All fans have more idea than Arnold. It's clear Elder is ready. He might start and have a shocker tonight but 90min can write off the great past 3 seasons he's had.
We need a solid midfield base. Irvine further up if at all. Hrustic to be free higher up and Boyle with Ruka or Maclaren so we have some proven finishers.

Irvine shouldn't be allowed anywhere near where he can possibly fluff another goal. He is far better playing defensive midfield

Last man in midfield he panics and he can't exactly shot but he's valuable in air paste into box. He plays on the right of a diamond midfield at club level. His position is the 11 is strongly waning.
