+x+xIs this team they’re getting done by even in season? Long way to go on this game but not looking good. Not played in something like three months or so. quite surprising eh and what a Rangers result - polar opposites. Missing Haaaland but cheeez we know where they stand in in full flight comp mode. Impressive win.

Terribly limp performance from Celtic this morning. To think I wasted activating my free seven day Stan sports trial on it! Some of the passing was badly off the mark, from many players but even CCV, on several occasions. Bodo were good to be fair. That’s two shoddy performances from Celtic in a row now and Ange will need them back on track and firing on Sunday in the League or the narrow one point lead may have been a false dawn. A few key players looked flat, including Jota and Abada. And Rogic sadly was well off his game. Fun times though, just three days and another match will be here!

Not that I saw the game but a match summary came up on my feed. 82% possession for Celtic. 18% for Dundee. 3-2 win for Dundee. Again without seeing the game what's going on there? Seems pretty poor from a stats view to dominate like that and still cop 2.

Celtic win 3-2 after being 0-1 down and Rangers drawing, so Celtic slightly extend their lead up to three points, with eleven games remaining. To be fair, Rangers were away in Europe last Thursday and then away again on Sunday, whereas Celtic played both their last two games at home. From reading various reports both sides looked a bit flat in their respective league matches. Last night’s Celtic match wasn’t televised so I can’t form my own view although the five minutes highlights show Celtic also missed a lot of chances. My concern is that this Thursday, Celtic have a seven hour flight to the Arctic circle in northern Norway to play Bodo then a match away on Sunday in the league - they may suffer Rangers’ fate next weekend and suffer a Euro hangover. Anyway, the highlights from this morning show Giakoumakis with a perfect hat-trick of right-foot, left-foot and then a diving heading to win the match. He is a first touch finisher. Nice time for him to find his scoring boots, showing topping the Eredivise goalscorers last season wasn’t a fluke. If last season’s J-League top scorer, Maeda, similarly finds his scoring boots then Celtic may well hold on. But who knows!

Other than that though they are controlling games well (midweek euro game aside) and it feels like some high-score results in the league are inevitable sooner rather than later. Celtic have some really quality and depth in the squad now and since it appears they have kooked the conference league + Rangers likely to progress, they will surely be favourites for the title.

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+ximagine scoring 26 from 30 games in the Eredivise, winning golden boot and your team still gets relegated that's insane lol Makes the stats even more impressive. Imagine what he can do now with a gaffa that speaks the same language? Isn't that racist? Greeks daring to speak to each other in public? Not sure Pauline, what do you think? The FFA was called racist for not signing Beisla as NT coach because he didn't speak the same language. Now you're suggesting that it's important. Why is this instance different? No the FFA was criticized as being STUPID for not bringing Bielsa in as NT coach but that's besides the point. The casual racism aspect was pretty much expected from an organization (and ALL that support it) that had championed apartheid based on ancestral ethnicity and obviously still does. Put aside your rather feeble attempts at anti-Hellenic baiting for moment and re-read my post. Greek player, plays in Holland under coach who would have communicated to him in English and scores a bag. Same kid now playing for an Irish monoethnic social club in Scotland has a coach who speaks the same language thus can relay instructions a lot more efficiently - therefore should score a bigger bag of goals. That seems logical to me. I hope he does well. Indeed, Celtic have had a very good signing window. Only lacking a really tough holding midfielder for my liking but maybe McCarthy will get fit. Over 100 games at Everton so he must be ok although I can’t ever recall watching him play. Its not apparent how much of these signings are Ange's choices though. I think Giakoumakis is a decent up top partner for Kyogo, is a hungry scrappy goal-sneaky kind of lad and will do extremely well against 90% of the Scottish Premiership teams.... Eduorde, to me, seemed like he just gets in the way so surprised to see him go to EPL? He really only seemed to have a decent game against AZ this year every other match seems to go missing. Dont know much about the American with the double barrel machine gun name (pardon the pun) on loan from Spurs that Ds mentioned previously. Any ideas? GIAKOUMAKIS!!!!!!!

I couldnae find your (CanberraHarry) comment re: "It's not apparent how much of these signings are Ange's choices" – So sorry in advance. Out of all the signing over the last two windows, I am fairly confident that they are all his, with the exception of... Jota, CCV, McCarthy and possibly Starfelt and Abada (I'm not 100% sure on the last two mentioned) as they were the board and scouting team signings/recommendations. Either way, what Ange has achieved in such a small time is nothing short of magical. He (along with the scouting team) has done a find job so far when it comes to unearthing gems.

Obviously Celtic are a big fish in a small pond. From my intermittent watching of Celtic they appear to be quite good (in Scotland) but almost every game they've played in Europe they have been beaten. Are they actually that far behind the rest of Europe? (I notice on the talkceltic forum they're whinging he doesn't have a plan B. Something we know well here.)

Getting embarrasingly pumped by a minnow out of season would be very tough to take for their supporters. The fact Rangers dumped out Dortmund in a superior comp is going to make it worse.

Optimistic take: Ange is putting all his eggs into the domestic basket. Rangers still has the depth to take on both fronts.
Everybodys favourite lurker.
