Theoretically Bielsa is now available to become Socceroos manager, if he doesn't decide to retire. I can't see Arnie being booted though or, even if he was, Bielsa being appointed. In any case, whilst I still have great respect for Bielsa, he's not the trailblazer he once was. Ange, for example, is showing that he can probably match it with him these days, at least in club management. The jury is still out at NT level, imo. 

Arnold admitted in recent interview that he knows he is gone when Roos don’t make Qatar. So many people on here only believe a European or South American coach should be hired from then on -  sounds like a good plan

Hope we can get Circatti and Volpato to play for Olyroos in under 23 Asian cup in June. We could have a very decent squad. 

Roma are firmly opposed to Volpato playing for the Olyroos. They’ve said something along the lines of - they’re open to him playing for the Socceroos.

I doubt he’d accept an Olyroos call-up.

I think that’s more of an in season opposition. If it’s in June they might be more accomodating.

As you say though the biggest issue is convincing him to play for Australia at any level.

I am all for an O/S coach, but only if its a highly credential and decently successful coach. If its another Pim or Holger level coach, i would prefer it go to an Aussie tbh. Staj would be a good replacement (although with his history doubt it), otherwise Poppa has shown he can get a lot out of weaker squads.

Currently at MV it had a flush out as needed and look what he bought - you can't call it a weak squad.
You hardly win a Prem with a weak squad let alone at NT levels.

Bielsa's game we wouldn't even have the cattle that could run the game he likes to play.
Plus his troubles barring having not adjusted his game tactics he had 3 of thier players out with injury to date AND when your competing in one of the most competitve comps with the lowest spend for players (nil spend though last window) no coach is going to see light at the end of tunnel.
I'd be curious to see Ange how he goes and adjusts losing his 3 best players as a real comparo and no money to spend.
One of the best coachs in the world ala Klopp lost it last season due to injuries he had to deal with for all to see.
It all comes down to your cattle.

There would be little time for Bielsa to implement he's tactics anyway, we only have 1 window with 2 games to play.

Our first two seasons we had a weak squad and he got us a premiers plate and ACL win. The first season WSW had a team of left over players tbh. Even that aside in the ACL we outperformed much better teams than ourselves.

Fozz is bang on the money here, we need a cultural revolution within our football.

The question is Aus football ready? Or are we that insecure here to listen and learn to try and improve our football acting as we are world beaters?

Would be interesting if we were to get Bielsa what he could do with our exciting crop of young players coming through. Timing wise it would be perfect and he really could give help give us a very exciting generation of footballers and coaches. 

Imagine he was part of educating the next gen of coaches with his methodology, that will leave a bigger legacy! 

I think the first thing FA should do is appoint a new TD, they haven't had one since the last one resigned before the pandemic started, they need to get their ducks in order before they are going to appoint a new coach and overall a new direction.
