9 changes to the starting line-up AGAINST AVONDALE??????????? WTF did the clowns think was going to happen, playing kids with no minutes of senior football in a cup game.. OK I get we are publicly pushing the "focus on the league above all this year " but clearly we have the squad depth this year to at least turn over a one trick pony like Avondale.... FFS not blaming the young lads and the debutantes  but looks like, if rumours are true, we have Graham Arnold picking match day squads at Hellas now... good farking grief.... how deflating.

We lost this game on purpose, the question is why? Avondale's odds came in dramatically before kick off once our lineup was released. Our goalscorer that pegged it back to 3-1 and was threatening to score again and make a real game of it was subbed out, almost like an admission we were getting too close. The coach has allegedly told the fans that half time that he hasnt picked the team.

Something very very fishy went on last night. We recruited a top quality squad to compete on all fronts, what must these players be thinking?

If the looks on the faces of Sawyer, Norts and Marcus in the stands last night is anything to go by the playing group was/is disgusted.... As are the rank and file members and fans. For the first time in many many years i don't want to go to Lakeside on Saturday. I mean I probably will but I just feel so let down right now. 

Hard fought win by the lads last night, Elmazi with a screamer of a strike ALMOST scored a golazzo for the ages..... Sharks on Saturday night in the local derby, will be a very tasty fixture on form. 
Hats off to the Altona committee for arranging the last post prior to kickoff to commemorate ANZAC day, love to see it at suburban level.

I might give opposing players a spray (who doesn't?) but usually the lads on the field are doing a job for their club and deserve a bit of respect, win lose or draw. Something about Scamondale and their shitty culture makes them so easy to hate. The way Towns and Valentini carried on as if scoring against us is this huge sign of achievement.... and then the poor little lambs looked like they where going to cry walking off the pitch at full time .... What did they think was going to happen? 3 nil and they fucked it up ... and boy did they hear about it..... heheheheheh First team in a long while to leave straight after the game and NOT come into the social club for a customary feed with the hosts... poor sports, poor culture, shitty club .... SUFFER!!!!!!!!!!

After the end of round one of H/A Ive gotta say that 11-1-1 is a pretty damn fine achievement by my lads... Very happy so far, have seene very other club and really, apart from Oaks and a possible return to form for Gully, I can't see anyone else troubling us this year..... Not saying we wont drop points but am gonna enjoy the second half of 2022 :)

yer Oak should keep the pressure on by the look of it, Gully may recover depending injuries but close enough if they string some wins.
Seems both Cro clubs struggling meaning here as well.

I watched some of the APIA Syd Cro game, bit of a goalfest but yeah, all 3 Cro clubs, Dinam, Knights and Hajduk are struggling this year down here.

I watched Knights vs Collingwood City (state 2 VIC S/E - 4 divisions beneath NPL1) for the Australia Cup round last night and Knights only managed 1-0 at home..... pretty sloppy all round against part timers who hung on for a gutsy effort.

Green gully are the ones I’d be looking out for, played good football all season but went through a patch where they couldn’t buy a goal, now with Salmon back and Bonada still there they should be fine, when we played them we basically scored 2 early goals and then they bombarded us rest of the game we could barely touch the ball. 

Wallen back and Chrissy Irwin getting more minutes give me a little bit of hope that this could be "patched up"  Agree about Sawyer... he is having an immense season, easily my favourite player right now and praying every week he stays strong......

Well..... ummmm.... we lost :(
Credit to Croatia, they just wanted it more... Our fist half was disgusting, hoofball, crap that Esteban has been playing all year. They targeted Wallen (makeshift right back) and took advantage of defensive errors aplenty by young Djiba on the left to get in behind us time and time again. Their opening goal was well executed but not spectacular... We had NOTHING until Mikkola came on in second half (rumour is that he didnt train during the week as he was on trial at CCM and thats why he didnt start but I dont buy it as the only reason) We peppered the Cros in second half and just couldnt score from open play.  Farcical scenes every time we had a throw in in their half Mikkola would launch a monster throw into their box and the Croatia fans would be screaming for "foul throw" ... South have been found out as a one trick pony, Sawyer was double teamed all night (Brice had a blinder for them) and they just had to ride out or ineffectiveness... Albano scored a classic turn over goal in the dying 4 seconds to give them the win....... Knights probably wont play finals this year but for them, they won the derby at home and thats all that counts.......

Dominant, display we didn't get out of 2nd gear and didn't need too.
Jurkovic second yellow and send off killed it for Dinamo but they had parked the bus well and truly by then anyway.... Hume away next week, let's hope Erdogan doesn't decide to invade Santorini and Mykonos this week otherwise it might be a spicy affair.... :)
