+xJust as long as fcking Arnold isn't allowed anywhere near it as long as he lives Dude, I’m a Sydney fan and I firmly believe he isn’t the man for the Roos job. But he did qualify us for Tokyo. I know he bottled it against Egypt but he deserves some respect for qualifying.
This complete arnie hate is ridiculous. Like I said I DONTthink he should coach the NT but he deserves credit for the olyroo’s job he did.

Decent squad, it looks like a more talented squad to work with compared to the Tokyo 2020 side it will be interesting to see the final squad for Paris if they qualify because there is alot of talent to choose from.
But for this tournament:
Gauci
Miller/Rawlins Jay-Rich JCP Bos/Farrell
Yazbek Francois
Brook/Bernardo Najjarine Hammond/Peupion
Kuol/Wood
Throw in the likes of Tilio, King, Folami, Teague, Watts, Volpato(if he wants to play for us), Circati as some that could be in this team...

https://sport.optus.com.au/articles/os43264/australian-football-news-socceroos-rich-baghuelou-accrington-stanleyGood JRB write up. I would rather he get picked for the Roos squad in June but I think Wright is a lock for the squad now as Degenek hasn't been playing much. Add Arnie's love for Stensness and probably Rowles. Is Good fit? He'll be in. McGowan will be selected for cover unfortunately. Grdic, Ryan and Ouzonidis are just injured or not playing at the level or at all to warrant selection for the Olyroos. The clash of camps means we need to spread carefully but the Roos take full priority here.

Just seeing the squad has been named. Very happy with it. JRB in there so that answers a Socceroos call up question. https://www.socceroos.com.au/news/confirmed-squad-named-australias-u23-asian-cup-quest

Any disappointments who missed out? Wow Hammond and Francois too. What an exciting bunch. G Kuol can get some U20 exposure hopefully.

At first I was like where the hell is Tilio, but completely forgot that the camps overlap and he’ll be with the Socceroos.

Overall this is a very, very exciting squad. 90% of this squad is also eligible for the Olympics which is fantastic to see.

+xJust wonder where italano and Teague are? Ah yes. The former hasn't done much. The latter has some time yet. It would be nice to see Teague as he did well in the camps.

+xAny disappointments who missed out? I’m trying to think. Watts is still injured.
Grdic definitely should be there so not sure why he’s not been picked. Must be injured. Circati and Volpato have declared for Italy, at least at underage level.
For those who could feel a little unlucky, maybe Mo Toure, Cameron Cook, Gomulka, Aquilina and Natta.

Circati would’ve been good. Wonder if he is a smoky for Socceroos squad. Mo Toure could feel unlucky but Peupion, Kuol and Hammond as sub are an exciting frontline. Maybe John Iredale is unlucky? Pretty exciting squad, shame about the Timezone. Would love to be able to go - loved the WCQ in Tashkent in 2008. Hopefully it’s enough to get through

Any reason why Thurgate wasn't considered? He was outstanding this season.

+xAny reason why Thurgate wasn't considered? He was outstanding this season. A lot of social media asking that. I think Thurgate is going to be the new Dougall who fares well in club life but will be the 5th or 6th best midfielder for the Roos.

I wonder. It says on Paramount+ whereas the 3 June Socceroos games say Channel 10 and 10 play. Maybe Paramount doesn't have extended rights to these 3 Socceroos games? You'd think they'd be on Paramount too.

Onefootball for UK or hopefully the AFC YouTube. If we make it, the Intercontinental is a slight concern as 10 Play with a VPN can be very laggy. Being Peru there should be plenty on Youtube.

Perhaps Thurgate not being in the squad is an indication that he’s getting called up to the Socceroos. I remember at the start of the season it was looking like he was going to get picked before he eventually got injured just before selection time.

Unless you are like me, and don't mind watching things like the AFC Cup that don't get shown on Paramount+. Through a VPN, the Eleven Sports live stream works best from a Chrome browser connection. Their app doesn't seem to like live streaming with a VPN.

Player 23 added appears to be Peupion. I can't remember a more satisfying selection of players. So many names we've followed and we'll get to see them all together in a gold shirt. Undoubtedly we'll see some exciting things and experience some disappointments but I think we'll learn a lot about this bunch in this tournament.
Soccerwhos Podcast mentioned the future of Bos and Rawlins. Both still very raw but so talented and clearly identified as such. We saw Brook beat his man. Add Peupion, Hammond and Kuol and there's a lot of flair. John Iredale would've made it I think but for his jaw op. Clinical finisher. In hindsight Dylan Ryan has had a horrible last 3 years since qualifying for Tokyo. If only he'd had 3 solid back to back seasons.

Mo’s out injured. Yengi was definitely robbed though.
