Love to know his training methods over the years ..... the balance he has when he runs is uncanny its like he glides add to this his speed off the mark .... has the potential to be anything... thank god he went to an A-l club that treats juniors with respect ...

Just saw the twitter feed, you may be right. It is also being reported in Newcastle now as well, probably off the same source

Natural dribbler and goal scorer that makes attacking football look so easy- as all great players do.
Creates opportunities from pretty much nothing. must go to Qatar as ‘super sub’ at least for me

4 goals in 199 minutes is a pretty solid return.

Otherwise I actually agree. Once again we are getting carried away over very little real world evidence, although still think he should be on the plane to Qatar.

I’m going to play a slightly different tune for once.

He should stay in the A-League for the reasons maxxie said. Needs a season where he’s off the charts with goals and assists.

But, in the unlikely event that we qualify for the WC, one of Karang Kuol and Mohamed Touré (if not both) should be in the squad.

Spot on johnszasz about Daniel Arzani at the last WC. Say what you like about Arzani’s actual accomplishments at club level (or lack thereof), Australia looked utterly useless breaking through defensive lines before he came. Arzani is brought on for just a few minutes and suddenly we have a guy who is going past defenders. A guy who can sprint fast while retaining good close control of the ball. That’s 1 vs 1 ability.

If you don’t have at least one player out wide or up front with tiger characteristics, there are a lot fewer paths to goal. And a good defence will manage just fine.

I will 'never' support any young player 'staying in the AL' whilst the season is less then 6-7month long.

Players do not develop properly there simply isnt enough game and the code is played over summer making it slower then most leagues.

Terry Antonis is a good example Everton F.C wanted to sign him at 16-17 he would of developed into a better player and had a better career imo if he went - he chose to stay at SFC and he didn't have a 'bad' career but he certainly never unlocked his full potential.

The AL is simply too short, and if you 'fall out of favor' we do not have a proper 'reserves' system like in say Germany or Spain were the 'reserves sides' of the big clubs actually play in there 3rd-4th divisions thus still getting competitive match practice.

Until the AL and State leagues a line we wont ever have 'good development' they need to match up the competitions

Hopefully not

Arzani had all the potential in the world but a major injury ruined him imo

Hopefully he stays injury free and develops into the player we all hope he can become - i personally want him to go to Newcastle United as i reckon he will get a run in the Cup games early on

I too am extremely weary of hyping him up too much at this stage.  We all know he will likely do his ACL in the next 2 years. /s

But for me what stands out is he seems to have no fear, no nerves. Getting a socceroos call up at such a young age with so little big game experience would make a lot of players very nervous - yet a few minutes in and he is gliding through defences like he was playing his brothers in his backyard.

That "no fear, no nerves attribute means he should go to Qatar. Just being in camp will be an amazing experience for him. If we need something special during a game or if we are badly losing a game, chuck him on and see what he can do.

Has anyone seen any commentary from Guus on Kuol? He would have seen a hundred wunderkid's like Kuol in his career, would be interested in how he rates hm. Also hope he is giving Garang some wise advice.
And the sooner he leaves Oz, the less hype and media attention he'll have to deal with.

He has the potential to have a really amazing career, but it is only potential yet.

Let's see how it goes. He hasn't even managed to become a first team regular yet at the Central Coast Mariners. It's crazy this talk of Newcastle United that pops up. He'll waste away in the reserves.

I hope he really kicks on this next season for the mariners. Gets first team football and really impresses. Once he does that, his stock will rise and then he may be the real deal.

I think a good example of what a player at least has to do in the A League is Mooy at City. Mooy was fucking fantastic, he was clearly at a level beyond everyone around him during the time and it was a pleasure to watch him. He had a fantastic two seasons there where he proved himself and then was able to move overseas and really kick off into the next level.

Simply put. If a player can't dominate and be a first teamer in the A League, he's never going to truly reach the top level. Let's see if Kuol can do that.

Please go Austria or Belgium mate and start playing ASAP. Best kid I've seen since you know who .. miles ahead of arzani. Or go melb city and let them setup the pathway. Must of been surreal for Leckie to see a young guy come on at LW and just start tearing up and knowing your playing ahead of him.. knowing your not better.

Love him to bits. Reminiscent of Arzani (who I still hope may recover fully from his injury one day) but levels above.

People are wary of comparing him with Harry? Bugger that... I'm comparing him with Killian MBappe. Blazing pace, great awareness of team mates and incredible finishing. Would not be surprised at all to see him at one of the very top clubs in Europe.

Expecting him to go to the WC and blow the world away with his impact.

I'd even go further and say Arnie needs to take Cummings as well - if only because he's a striker used to playing with GK and we all know how important existing combinations are.

Kuol will do even better with Cummings on the pitch in Qatar.

One of the most exciting talents we've seen in a long time. Not only is his finishing superb, he's got such a silky touch, a fantastic passing game & he's quick. Not often in Australian football when a player has "got it all". I think the sky's the limit for this lad. Every effort should be made to bring him into the next Olyroo's squad with his brother

I think he is already in Socceroo plans.

He might have circumvented the Olyroos!

Agree. He is an awesome talent.

They are not that poor if we've qualified for 5 successive World Cups!

Only 10 teams in the world have  qualified for the last 5 successive World Cups.

Three times we've had to qualify by playing intercontinental sudden death quaffers, beating CONMEBOL twice, and CONCACAF once.

Kid is scarily talented. Watching those highlights again of him against Barca, their defenders are completely all at sea against him. To be that fast and then be that balanced and calm on the ball whilst flying past players is a lethal combination- Henry, Mbappe and R9 like.

Of all the 'next harry kewell's over the years which has included Ruka, Oar, Burns and Arzani, this is the best one since HK himself. Also as talented as Kewell was he didn't have this quality (balance at top top speed). Kuol doesn't have the same striking technique, first touch, leap or strength as Kewell but is faster and probably dribbles, finishes and passes better.

That run he made against NZ was like something yo see on a video game or an R9 highlights package.

Kid will go to the very top (have mercy injury gods!).

Only 10 teams in the world have  qualified for the last 5 successive World Cups.

Three times we've had to qualify by playing intercontinental sudden death quaffers, beating CONMEBOL twice, and CONCACAF once.

Thats like using possession stats to figure out who won a match, useless in isolation and only provides temporary comfort to the ill-informed.

Speaking of ill-informed, there are actually 12 at 5 or more consecutive appearances including 2022:

Team Current consecutive appearances
 Brazil 22
 Germany 18
 Argentina 13
 Spain 12
 South Korea 10
 Mexico 8
 France 7
 England 7
 Japan 7
 Portugal 6
  Switzerland 5
 Australia 5

And funnily enough, of those with 5 or more, 3 are from AFC. Hmm, wonder why, because AFC is easy to qualify from (which is why we joined) especially after they got 4.5 spots in 2006 and the fact we went from direct qualification in 2010 & 2014 to needing playoff's for 2018 & 2022 tells you we are getting shitter.

Why you may ask again? Not hard to figure out, GG is gone and despite the promise current development pathways are poor (seriously, when was the NYL run as a proper comp?).
All you need to do is just look at where the 2006 or 2010 squad were playing club football compared to where the current lot are. No comparison (but I am sure there are plenty of excuses)
