Crowds will drive ratings because of the atmosphere factor Keep any game with Western United or the Bulls well away from FTA.

+x+xArgentina vs Saudi Arabia 439k Wow Reporting Aus v France as only 461k. Surely this is significantly incorrect, there is no way that is right.

Australia vs Tunisia got 1.034 mil Metro.
Mediaweek expecting 1.5m once you add in regionals and online.

+xAustralia vs Tunisia got 1.034 mil Metro. Mediaweek expecting 1.5m once you add in regionals and online. Seems like a pass mark. Must be one of the highest rating SBS telecasts in a while (along with Eurovision I imagine). I reckon if the Denmark game was at 9pm it would go close to 2m. Hopefully if we do get through the group we end up with something more favourable than 2am.

Interesting article on Channel 10 and its focus on younger demographics. Interesting reference to the A-League. https://www.mediaweek.com.au/how-10-has-mixed-things-u-as-australias-youngest-tv-channel/

"In sport, Network 10 reached 11.9 million viewers across the year. The 2022 Melbourne Cup Carnival reached 3.51 million Australians, the Australian Formula One Grand Prix reached 3.2 million Australians, while the A-Leagues reached over 6.5 million fans. 10 Play was up 6% year-on-year, with more than 6.2 million registered users. 10 Play has also seen growth in live streaming, up 21% on the same point of 2021"
I'd say they may well be pleased with the contribution sport has made.

Same for the QF, SF and Final when we eventually make them too.

The NBL did OK with their Christmas Day experiment. The game made a loss for the owner but the ratings were the best for the season. "But the all-important ratings figures show the NBL’s groundbreaking venture proved popular from the lounge, with more than 300,000 people tuning in across ESPN, Kayo and Channel 10 platforms to make it the most-watched game to date of the 2022/23 season." https://www.smh.com.au/sport/basketball/season-high-nbl-ratings-spark-food-for-christmas-day-double-header-thought-20221226-p5c8tf.html

For the NBL, a 300k rating is absolutely enormous (but a bit hard to believe to be honest)
