+x+x+x+x+x+xFans involved should be held responsible, and Glover too. He's not innocent. If there was any chance what Glover did was an accident you would have seen him run towards the crowd with his hands in the air apologising, not fucking death staring and standing staunch. you bring flares to games and throw them on the field and then whinge when they get thrown back? are you like a child? Jesus Christ. I think your reply is childish. I haven't had a whinge. I'm just saying the keepers actions were deliberate and not a mistake. Putting any blame on the keeper is ridiculous, they get thrown back into crowds all across the world. again, for the 100th time not condoning his being assaulted but frankly I'd love to see where his flare landed. If he did that and it hit you or your kid would you not want him punished? Not saying by bucket to the head but a suspension and fine for sure and likely legal action why are people sitting in the active support with children when there's flares around? if anything thats child abuse. Richarlison pretty much did exactly what Tom Glover did when he was back at Everton.. No red card, an "investigation" happened... missed 1 game and a small fine.. people want this guy banned for years? are you insane? Just kick em out and bring south melbourne in. I dont think we have many "criminal Bosnian illegal fan groups" in our membership base these days... may not be to the APLs liking ...... +x+x+x+x+xPeacock said what I said victory thugs were gonna storm the pitch regardless what Tommy did. Obviously he shouldn’t of chucked it and if he gets in trouble he’ll have to deal with it How F would he know? Were you at the match? You could feel it in the crowd victory were throwing fire crackers city were throwing flares that match had negative energy Yes I was, I was also in the terrace and I was also at the boozer before the game with OSM. I agree there was negative energy but the pundits have no idea what was or wasn't planned. PLEASE tell me you are the funny dude that "danced" his way up to Glover, did a little shimmy, and then danced away again??? HAhahahaha I laugh every time I watch the replay.... lol I am not a fool :) And would never get that worked up over something so utterly pointless

+x+xI just find the whole thing interesting. Person A throws a flare into a large empty area with only Person B around. It hits nobody. Person B picks up said flare and throws it straight into a crowd of people. Said flare hits person C who was 50 metres away from Person A. If the pitch invasion didn't happen I wonder what would happen to Person B. If that happened outside a football field I wonder what would happen to person B, who would defend person B and what people would do to person B But a cameraman got hit? ? Different scenario to what I presented. It was just a thought experiment if you will.

I went through a few Rebecca Wilson threads last night and I'd hate to think what her writing would be on all this not to mention shooting down our tournament success.

I think they got it right. They obviously realised that punishing Glover would provide comfort and an excuse for the morons still trying to justify the assault (see Balin Trev's posts). That's the last thing the league needs right now.

But i will never agree that Glover doesn’t deserve red card or suspension for deliberately throwing a lit flare into a crowd.

Nah man, you are. There are a few of you here. "I don't defend the assault, but... (Glover! APL!)". By qualifying all your comments like this, it is clear that you find the invasion at least understandable on some level. Glover is not the existential issue the league should be focusing on right now. I think most people understand this.

Glover should have been suspended for a lengthy period. Throwing a lit flare into a crowd of people was incredibly dangerous. It's second only to the assaults on Glover, the Officials, security in terms of how serious it was imo. The only reason he hasn't been disciplined is because of what followed. That's wrong.

Glover’s actions were not only more deliberate than Topor-Stanley’s straight red (which will be an automatic suspension) but also far more dangerous. Apparently he just accidentally hurled a lighted flare 20 metres toward a crowd, just after he threw one 5 metres off the field. Article I saw said “the ref thought it was an accident” implying it was his call alone.

Bottles, rubbish and flares have been launched at players at keepers since season 1. Even this season half full bottles were thrown at Izzo by the cove. However every occasion the keepers stay professional and move them out of the way in a controlled way.
So now I guess it’s free game? A bottle lands near a keeper when he’s taking a goal kick, that’s alright accidentally throw it back in the same direction it came from and there won’t be repercussions.

++xViolent conduct - red card This will be the first thing that happens at the restart. Not sure if he needs to kit up and go through the motions or if MC just start with reserve keeper and 10 men.

+xHow do line ups work for injured players...nani obviously out with his knee How do we allow for how tired the players were after 22 minutes and how that will have affected their pressing? The players should be made to wear headsets watching the first 22 minutes of the last game and replicate their exact movements. Nani can use a runner like in cricket nad have an earpiece between him and his runner telling him where when and how to move and pass. Jesus people

I wonder if the APL need to rethink their plan of continuing this game from the 22nd minute. The MRC allegedly could not "deal with" the Glover incident and said basically nothing they could do. Glover has been seen by the APL as the injured party, and escaped sanction at this stage. Reconvening the game demands that the referee deals with the dangerous action of Glover in throwing the lit flare into the crowd.
This also raises the point of how can the MRC deal with a game before its conclusion? If the game is started from the 22nd minute, then it has not concluded. By commencing the tribunal hearing into the game, surely the APL have deemed the game to have been completed.

Yep. This article confirms it. JJ said ‘Glover gets away with it on this occasion’
He threw a lit flare into a crowd of people and could have seriously injured someone- whether it was deliberately thrown into crowd or not. Piss weak FA. What’s the point of Fifa Red card rules if they are not followed?!
Victory as a club are paying a price- why not Glover?!
