Knocked out of the Australia Cup by NPL2 team Kingston
They have a pretty woeful cup record, especially after some of the PR they have done pre FFA Cup games over the years before games and then performed badly.
However I won't rub it in - Northcote were up 3-0 the other night and lost 3-4

First game this season I have missed ( 8.15 kickoff on a "school night") but watching the highlights it was a poor effort all round.... We finally got found out and can't say Im very surprised...

I havent heard anything about the APL franchises joining the football pyramid here in Australia at all mate, have you? Last I heard they were trying to find investors for two new franchises in Canberra and Auckland... Apparently they would be sorted by June as overseas investors were knocking down the doors trying to throw money at the APL.... Dont know, don't really care. Just want this NST to get up and running soon.

Yeah that sounds lame, two new clubs with hardly any supporter base :( Was talking to a south Melbourne supporter last week, said a b league coming, south would be entering. Mentioned there would be promotion/relegation. I hope it happens personally.

Weve been supporting and developing Australian women footballers for 50 odd years (yes there were a few periods there were the women's program was neglected, wrongfully so) but your "better late than never" implication is dogshit.... At least you didn't ask what the "effnicity" of these players was ..... maybe you are turning into a human?

Thanks now to the A-League that has broad base appeal, and the follow-up professionalism of the women's game by the FA, participation rates immediately boomed and continue to do so. And you think SM Hellas don't need catching up, LOL.

I posted a link saying that South has seen a massive (120%) increase in participation for our community women's teams (Not just NPL level) and your response was we are playing catch up??...... Absolutely there are many other real clubs that have had women's teams in Australia, going back almost a hundred years now.... Your broad based appealing, professional, mainstream, financially shaky franchises dont even HAVE (mostly) women's NPL and junior teams, let alone community programs.... I think I know who I (and the rest of the football family ) think is playing catch up........ Your hatred really blinds you Paulie doesnt it? I love that about you.

AL broad based appeal ? yer right. W football built up heaps from grass roots levels more than anywhere else first and foremost - glad the FA got behind it as needed, AL jumped on board more like it in dribs and drabs much like they did/have with Jnrs. W football was gonna boom and continue with or without the AL.

+xAL broad based appeal ? yer right. No you're right. The AL has / had no broad based appeal and there was never a boom in player participation rate after it commenced. But 8 girls, not enough to fill team in a Greek club was the broad based boom......lol

Gotta hand it to south, impressive win over ladder leaders Avondale. If they keep this up, they'll win the lot.

Cheers mate, Clean sheet and 3 goals against a previously unstoppable Avondale is no small feat. Nice thumping for Oaks against Geelong also, we play them at home next week so hoping to get our GD up ... still, last 3 weeks have been extremely happy with the lads... The buzz in the stands is back and we are scoring from open play again... Defensively we are a fortress FORZA HELLAS. https://twitter.com/smfc/status/1655191464920616960?cxt=HHwWgMDQ3cT3tfgtAAAA

A rare TRIPLE HEADER this Sunday South fans.
On Sunday we pause to remember Senior Constable Tony Clarke who tragically died whilst on duty – 24 April 2005. He was part of the Region 4 Traffic Task Unit and was highly respected as an efficient and dedicated police member. 💙Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues.Tony had a great love and passion for soccer and each year his former colleagues organise a ‘Tony Clarke Memorial Game’ between ex-Socceroos and Matilda’s and Victoria Police Soccer Club (Copperoos) hosted by South Melbourne Football Club at Lakeside Stadium. Great day for the kiddies with police cars, Blue Ribbon merch and sometimes even a fly-over by the police chopper :) The FA "celebrities: sometimes grace us with their presence so good time to ask your NST questions lol....
