Why was Foxx on the right wing and crighton and To'o on the left? Turbo looked half fit and played like a busted arse why was he even chosen? So many questions and fvck all answers. NSW should have romped that game in and yet they let it slip away (as usual).

Freddy's team selections are always littered with controversy. Is he the right  man for the  job or are we just  know nothing fans.

A good back against the wall performance from QLD.

I must say, it was basically gifted to them by NSW with Teddy having a shocker and Cleary awfully quiet when he should have stepped up and simply taken control against 12 men.

DCE schooled them with a marvellous kicking game that split teddy and his wingers numerous times and found ground. Even nailed a 40/20 to swing momentum.

Collins was also supreme, but I'm abit surprised he wasn't taken off for HIA after a head clash when Fifita copped a HIA in the first half and Tualagi copped one in second half. Even Frizell copped one and also didn't go off. Very inconsistent by the HIA reviewer.

In any case, this game proved that you needed players who grind out a win. Tommy Turbo isn't that type of player and neither are a number of NSW players.

I was very sceptical on whether the Hammer would suit this type of game but he sure surprised me with a great performance. Valentine Holmes who has been rather average for Cows also stepped up and played an origin game.

But when you have origin players like DCE, Hunt and Munster in your team, you'll win games even if your team is on the back foot. And that's what happened tonight.

Campbell G gotta be first bloke picked…
Freddys job on the line now… loyalty out the window if he wants keep it…  he’s gotta pick on form…
Let’s get TK like team list crazy!!!
1 Trell
6 Cody
7 Nicho
9 Cook

I would replace Nicho on the bench with Cook and start Cook.

Latrell at fullback instead of Teddy is the other change I would consider.

Chrichton was very good and deserves to keep his spot.

Appi plays with a slower tempo than Cook. NSW tried to work over the middle and with a fit QLD side and a slow tempo game it was never going to work.

Appi, Cleary, Yeo and Teddy all slowed the tempo down, strike centres and backrowers need early ball.

I don't know if the problem was a poor game plan, or poor execution.

NSW defence and yardage games clearly dominant. Normally when a team clearly wins those areas they win the game.

What a great day it is in QLD Warm and Sunny. Origin 1 win against Fredo Frogs F*%#wits.... Cleary an Origin Player hahaha Luai an Origin Player hahaha, good first graders at best and one kicks a ball 18 hours a day 7 days a week.
What they are is DCE's and Cameron Munsters children ....  Sounds familiar. Think someone else said something similar once.

I would be more concerned if they picked Hynes, Reynolds, Townsend or even Flanagan

You last paragraph is very important because it has close resemblance with the way the Dogs play....

Qld may have lost the yardage battle but they compensated with a strong kicking game and chase.

Their points came from 2 penalties early in the game that gifted them attack inside NSW 30m zone, a turn of posession when Pangai tried to offload, a long range break and a flukey bomb result.

This bares close resemblance with how the Dogs play whereby we also don't win the yardage battle and we score off the back of picky back penalties and attack inside the opposition 20m or score long range efforts from breaks (Averillo) or score flukey tries off bombs or defensive errors.

It just goes to show that if you have a good long kicking game, and good kick chase, you can compensate for loss of yardage.

It just seems as though he has no contingency plan or thought to how the opposition might play the game.....

Let's face it...it was an ugly rugby league game. No room for any skill or backline movements with defences rushing in and shutting down plays. It looked clunky for both teams but QLD were more ready to get into a grind and slug it out.

It looked to me as though Fitler had an idea that it would be played in an expansive style and didn't account for any other gameplan.

Played straight into QLD hands.

Sadly the Mock is a QLD supporter… so the obvious solution when it comes to coaching genius is a scratch…
Imagine what Mockstradamus and Moses would do for that side…

Normally winning the yardage / field position/ posession battle is all important.

When you don't win it, a team has to find another way.

I only question the spine when a dominant team with a lot of ball at the right end doesn't post enough points.
That was the case for NSW.

For the Dogs our lack of field position has nothing much to do with the spine, in fact the kicking game from Burton, or a long range try often bails us out.

It doesn't matter how a try is scored, they all count.

We will do better in yardage with more size in the forwards, until then we have to find a way.

If I was in the NSW camp I would still be confident, there is a lot they did wrong that isn't hard to fix.

NSW had plenty of opportunities in that game but for the fact that Tedesco and Frizrll tried to be the almighty hero and murdered any attack we were building. They both need to be seriously reviewed.

The coach has to take some of the blame.

The attack was too slow and over elaborate, they need to move the QLD forwards around and tire them out before attempting to go through the middle.

At times the defence was out of sync.

NSW looked like a team with limited preparation, trying to be too fancy and not all on the same page.

I can't remember a game where I thought Freddy had a lot to do with a NSW win.

QLD coach is an easier gig, the players always find an extra effort, they are always underdog, and they have guys like Munster with a real x-factor. The selection of the hammer did look like a good call.

Fekk QANTAS…

Nah. Fekk Virgin.
I flew to Perth last week and my usual preference is Qantas all the time, mainly coz they use dual aisle A330 planes. I flew Virgin on the return leg (even though it was a single aisle B737) but only because I have lounge access with virgin. Both flights were economy.

Qantas leg provided free Wifi, a small iPad and a free meal.

Virgin had only paid Wifi plan, no device for entertainment, and no free meal.. Only water/coffee/tea or paid snacks.

I couldn't believe that they have become a no frills airline on a 4hr flight! I may as well have flown Jetstar and saved $250.

Disappointed.

I think that is true in all sports, stats don't always tell the story.

Teddy was trying hard, but he was trying to win it by himself, most of those runs posed no threat to the QLD defence.

The QLD fullback was more dangerous in attack.

I am not for wholesale changes, but Critter deserves to keep his spot, if fit Latrell should be picked.

IMO the side is more dangerous with Latrell at fullback.

IMO Turbo didn't get many opportunities, not enough ball and never early ball with space.

Some of our players not playing direct enough.  I'm  thinking Luai and Tedescco. Too much running around like chooks with their  heads  cut off.

When you have the strike players Qld do you are always a chance of scoring.

Munster, DCE, Hunt, Harry and the Hammer could win a game for any team.

NSW desperately needed Trell in that team. It would also help if the ref called Qld for being offside

Teddy has been doing this his whole career. Always has stunted the attack. Fantastic player in almost every other aspect of his game though.

The problem was the rushing defence from Qld put pressure on the first and second receiver. They never had space to pass and just got pushed back into the inside space.

Unfortunately that’s how origin is played. Line speed is king. And refs rarely call you offside. Qld have known this for years. One day we will figure it out too
