+x3:2 Australia. Teague can redeem a sluggish display but tapping it in from half a metre. It was good reflexes to get a finish on it I thought.

pitch was good so can better evaluate the players. I thought there was a big gap between a league players (getting game time) and those not getting regular game time in terms of performance
We probably don't concede those two goals if this team had played 10 games together (assuming the coach is at least competent) so these games are crucial
I also think we should have our youth get in the gym
why are u23s so frequently outmuscling our players?

A better second half performance than the first half, you can tell this team doesnt have alot of cohesion out there but they were better in controlling the game and created some good chances towards the end as well. Tilio proved to make an difference as the No.10 as opposed to Jelacic, Hollman's evolution is interesting given he's also a No.10 as well but he did quite well controlling the midfield in a deeper No.6 role especially in the second half.
It will be interesting to watch this team evolve and how it develop over time, plenty of talent...

I must admit the French team looked quite strong physically but also the referee did let alot go too. Agree on Teague I would like him to come back to the a-league to get some match minutes too, unless he can break through over in Portugal which he hasn't done yet.

More and more evidence that club minutes matter. These silly Portugal odysseys need to stop. Bility looked blind. Teague has improved his minutes but I think we can safely say the A League is ahead of Portuguese U23. Italiano was surprisingly quick and fit. He had glandular fever I believe. Holman generally ok. Mauragis, nothing spectacular, nothing horrendous.

Mauragis, nothing spectacular, nothing horrendous. Absolutely agreed, playing U23 football and second division Portugal hasn't really worked for any young australian so far. It's obviously difficult to say whether he would've been better off with SFC and their horrific record with AL minutes. But even before Teague left Australia he didn't really leave on the best of notes, where he gave away a penalty or scored an own goal or something I cant quite remember, in his last game for SFC. Goes to show how much that game-time and professional opportunities really matter. If you go to these leagues you have to be playing, if you're sitting on the bench it is incredibly disadvantageous, and you can actually pinpoint the exact moment that Australian players start fading and their similarly aged european/african players begin emerging. Teague was an absolute stand-out at the 17s WC.

How does Ryan Teague start all 3 matches when he didn’t play a single minute of football this season.
Surely D’Arrigo, Jelacic and Hollman are all ahead of him to start in midfield.

Also odd that Francois is starting on the wing ahead of Garang.

Happy to see Tilio start at #10 though - I really like him in that position.

Bit of mix and match really. Hope we advance but we'll get a fourth game regardless for classification. I want him to succeed but I have a sneaking suspicion Teague is the poster boy and has been around the set up the longest. He's going just ok. Remember Zach Duncan? Will he end up like that or a Socceroo?

+xOur u18s look sharper than the olyroos I was thinking a similar thing. I feel like the under 18s would run rings around this olyroos side. That said it's a bit hotter in southern France than Portugal at the moment.

thanks, watched the last few minutes. Defence looks good but struggling to hold the ball. Missed an open goal (headed chance)

How is it pronounced, Bilokapic?
I've always said, and never even heard a commutator say his name. Bill O cap itch
Just heard the Mexican commentators say Bill aw cop itch. Which makes me think this one would be right.
