+xFraser Park have dropped out. one ponders, with 5 possibles from NPL still in the "ring" to NST I wonder how FNSW will re stack NPL1/2 for next season retaining 16 team comps. FP may end up going up a Div despite finishing 5th this season.

Good step up to grow the depth depending the Clubs reach and ambitions.

some of the club reps have been told there is a good possibility the NSD sides will fill U23s squads in NPL. i guess we will see what happens, everything is still up in the air.

There's no way that NSD reserve teams would be good enough for top-level NPL though. They'd have to be demoted to League 2 if anything. But to be honest, I'd rather keep the number of reserve teams in the NPL to a minimum. Better to promote some district clubs up to League 2 (some of them are desperate to get into the NPL pyramid).

Can't read into their lack of noise as anything because they never made any before this.

Stay quiet until there is something meaningful to report. For other bidders like South Melbourne, they may as well start shouting it from the rooftops and start getting the fans excited as everyone knows they will get a spot, but a bunch of the others won't be so fortunate.

To be fair, apart from a brief statement of confirmation that we have submitted the application, not much "shouting" going on.. Hard to start crowing about something which doesn't yet exist, and may yet not even get off the ground.....

Yeah I agree with this... Dont think its necessary nor productive for NST clubs to have bloated First team squads for NST, NPL AND normal U21s NPL. Plus this make pro-rel to from the NPL a "muddy" exercise... I would prefer whichever club has a current NPL team for that to be pulled out of the NPL mens competition to give others in the pyramid below a chance to step up and the "regular" U21 NPL comps can stay as they currently are.... If a new NSD entity doesn't have any other teams at various age levels, well isnt one of the criteria for them to establish a set of junior teams?

+x+x26 started the RFP How many will drop out this week ? you'd assume no one. why go this far, just to pull out now? OK, so just heard that the second ACT bid is/was confirmed this week. 6 x NSW, 2 x ACT, 2 x QLD, 1 x TAS, 5 x VIC = 16 clubs so far :) So far, either directly by the club or someone "in the know" it appears that the following bid submissions are in: APIA Leichhardt Avondale FC Brisbane United (Brisbane Strikers/Wynnum Wolves/Virginia United) Canberra Croatia Green Gully SC
Gungahlin United
Marconi Stallions Melbourne Knights Preston Lions South Hobart South Melbourne Sunshine Coast Fire
Sutherland Sharks / Cronulla Sharks
Sydney Olympic Sydney United 58 Wollongong Wolves
Still waiting on: Adelaide Juve Brisbane City Brusnwick Juve Football SA merger bid Rockdale
All others are "out"

+xMake that 5 x NSW ? Who knows but I wouldnt think the APL and their pet would know anything about anything when it comes to the NSD. Lets wait to see what is announced by FA at the end eh? Speaking of APL shills, is it just a massive coincidence that in the 2 odd weeks since the FA announced moving into Phase 3 of club selection there have not been ANY articles by Inside Sport, Rugari or those old fuck-knuckles at The Roar???? Not one?And yet there are a dozen about some Spanish dildo kissing a player on the mouth?????

Hearing a couple of bidders are silent not to keep it from the public, but not to have their federations on their backs.

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xgreen gully rumoured canberra croatia confirmed brisbane united submitted too according to wynnum wolves That makes 14 if true probably would like another 2 since there would likely be a bit of culling. I really hope we start with 12 teams minimum Just need to have an Adelaide team or two now and all complete :) There is a rumour flying around that both FAs in QLD and SA have advised their bidding clubs that if they announce their bids for the NSD they will NOT be included in next years NPL competition if they are not successful in getting into the NSD ... apparently they have been "gotten too" by the APL .... just rumours but who knows how much truth is in this.... Already grumblings amongst the state federations about how the NSD will rob them of some of their "cash cow" clubs..... every pig in the trough is getting worried I suppose. Again, just Starting teams will be announced in October, and part of the criteria is that you drop out of NPL for 2024, so why is this a threat ? How does announcing an application in September make any difference ? He's saying the rumor is they would be dropped from the NPL regardless of whether they are successful in getting a NST spot or not. Not sure they could legally do this, but it is football in Australia so there are always new and wonderful ways we like to shoot ourselves. Whole idea is proposterous and nothing to gain for anyone, even if they could legally do it. Plus wouldn't effect Brisbane United It WOULD affect the three clubs that are combining for the Brisbane Untied bid though mate, thats the problem. The Brisbane United bid circumvents this issue. Strikers and Wynnum are 'foundation members' and Virginia are 'Tier 1 members' they aren't applying as an existing club None of them are going to relinquish their places in the Queensland ecosystem. I don't know how the FA are allowing this kind of bid in. (inc Sharks and SA), given other clubs applying will be forced out of their current league by the criteria But that's a seperate issue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHc0p37zijo&t=15s Yeah mate, that was from 5 months ago and was the understanding at the time... I hear they are now "back flipping" on their original good intentions...?!?!!? honestly dont know if true or not but wouldnt be surprised considering Rabbiehs butting heads with Football QLD before. Who is backflipping ? Well the rumour is Football QLD (or whatever the acronym is these days). Also (and again these are rumours) Brisbane Olympic and Gold Coast Knights were told that if they went ahead with the final bid for the NSD they would NOT be considered on the roster of teams lined up to play NPL QLD in 2024, OR something along the lines of playing fixtures will be drawn up without them..... Both these clubs may have bid with the realistic expectation that they may not get into NSD and that they would then play where they were.... Federation basically telling them to decide if they are in or out...... +xGold Coast Knights and Olympic may as well confirm they're staying in the NPL because they have close to zero chance for the NSD with the better alternatives. The President of Knights said initially he didn't think their bid would work anyway because the Crayshan community isn't as strong up in QLD & they would have to rebrand to be successful +xconfirmed submissions NST, APIA Leichhardt Avondale FC Canberra Croatia Green Gully Cavaliers Marconi Stallions Melbourne Knights Preston Lions South Hobart South Melbourne Sunshine Coast FC Sydney Olympic Sydney United Wollongong Wolves withdrawn from NST, Gold Coast Knights - as per their facebook page Gold Coast United Olympic FC - as per their facebook page no official announcement from the following 10 at this present time, Adelaide City Brisbane City Brisbane United (Wynnum Wolves, Brisbane Strikers, Virginia United) Brunswick Juventus Football South Australia (Campbelltown City, MetroStars, West Torrens Birkalla) Fraser Park Gungahlin United Heidelberg United Rockdale Illinden Sutherland Sharks Why do you keep saying Gold Coast United have withdrawn with no source?

Or are you asking me what my source is that Rugari is an unreliable APL shill? I would have thought I didnt need to point out the obvious. :) Just surprised that they haven't tried to dug up ol Frank Brunoskevic this time round but I suppose even those charlatans cant invent ANOTHER ex NSL legend and financial wizard :) Every listed "bid" I have tried to link the social media link and others are just hearsay and rumour....
