Round 2 in VIC.
Port strong against Knights. Choakleigh struggled to keep a point against Bergers Dandy City scoring for fun under Tolios The newbies got their first win at home South struggled to score against Moreland Hume looked good and Avondale got pushed all the way by Dinamo.

+xGood win by Port although I see Adam Piddick has left. They used to be one of my favs to watch as a neutral. I heard a rumour about why Piddick left Port on the weekend....... Hahahahahahah Ah the VIC NPL, its like an episode of Days of our Lives sometimes. hahahahahah

Round 3 of the NPL VIC season rolls on tonight with Hume and South looking to go top of the table with a win as everyone else stumbled.
I cam on here to aks if anyone was at the Oakleigh game yesterday and knows why it was abandoned? Was it the head clash late in the half that did it?
Looked terrible but then didnt hear anything else from commentators???? Hope both players are OK?
Knights last 30 mins was nuts at Somers Street.... Was cheering them on like a maniac

Glad he's doing ok it seems Pretty much happened bang on half time.... The ref whistled for end of half, they headed to the sheds and that was it. Must have been a pretty heavy head clash as the cameraman didnt show anything right after it.... Hope the kid's alright.

Oakleigh were running riot and the score looked like it was going to blow out of all proportions..... Lets hope Magic recover and are a lot stronger when the fixture is replayed, would be glorious for them to come away winners.... :P

We are the absolute WORST fanbase to coach or play for..... Self entitled, cry baby delusional pricks the lot of us :P .... and it will NEVER change. We arent winning then "we need to start winning" We are keeping clean sheets "we are too defensive" Winning matches by 1-2 goals "dour football, cant keep on grinding results" We start thumping 3s and 4s past teams "what about all the missed goals, coach is shit, team is shit, we need better strikers" Its always been like this at Hellas, we could be playing like Kloppy's Liverpool and we'd still not be happy.

Meanwhile, anyone remember Stephen Lucas, now former A-League referee? Here he is in a Football NSW NPL top tier game. I have only linked the 5 minute package, not the whole game. https://youtu.be/vVpbQHjjjeY?feature=shared

South and Bergers are the form clubs after 4 rounds in VIC, with Hume proving they are serious finals contenders early in the season.
Avondale looking vulnarable and Oaks suffering a bit of early season jitters.... Tolios has Dandy City zining along... will be a fascinating season.
Meanwhile the Sydney derby was match of the weekend.... OMG what happened there Sydney United 58 fans?

Manningham were winning and it's a big deal because I don't think they are a big club in the npl. Then south just take it up a gear almost like the big European clubs doing when they are losing to smaller teams and start belting then for having the audacity to try to beat them

Manningham came out of the gate like a bull in a china shop, they've got goals in them but defensively very shaky.. They'll have a fun ride in the top league this year and, considering only one club goes down this season, will probably get to stay up over Moreland.... Nice little set-up at Pettys reserve, apart from the synthetic pitch, the clubrooms and terraces are decent enough and offer good viewing.. Puts alot of the "traditional" powerhouse VIC clubs to shame. Souva was decent enough too.

OMG what happened there Sydney United 58 fans? can't say didn't see the game but from Kalac comments, Mmmmm BLeague lol : United 58 coach Zeljko Kalac whilst disappointed, maintained a very balanced approach to the loss. “Yes it fell apart in the second half and we just didn’t manage the match,” the former AC Milan and Socceroo goalkeeper stated. “The first 20-25 minutes were good, and we had a couple of good opportunities to score but we didn’t take them. They then got their noses in front. “To be fair it was a fairly balanced match until really the third goal which was the nail in the coffin for us because it came out of nothing. It was disappointing then the way we fell apart. “It’s a big change for us this year because we have a lot of new, young players which is good but it’s still something that we have to learn that at this club we can’t just have scorelines like that. “We will evolve this year and give young players an opportunity and see where they get to at the end of the year and then we’ll move onto the B-League.” Good strong APIA win importantly. Early days for all.

This year is a "holding pattern" for the NST clubs, just getting systems and structures in place and then look at recruitment later in the year. NPL NSW is going to be a completely different beast without the four clubs. Same in VIC. Funniest match of the Round was Bentleigh falling 1-7 at home on Friday to a bunch of franchise kids.....

In Vic it's only going to be the 2 clubs though since Preston aren't in the top tier. Even if they push the teams up to 10 surely they'd be looking at a Adelaide/Brisbane team before Bergers/Knights

Im hearing that there are two more clubs from VIC waiting on the "green light" Knights and George Cross in VPL1 How true that is, who knows? Apparently the dilemma now is if its going to be 12 in first season or 14 clubs...... We find out in May ?????

TBH I'm heartened for the viable Clubs currently in League1 as called today. Some old established Clubs once in top flight sometime ago like Spartans and BWE and some good up coming Clubs having come up through the ranks so a great spicer and juicer for the lucky ones who will get promoted replacing the going NST Clubs. Good point not much of a game changer as NTNP mentions re VicPL. Mind you losing SMH will be a huge changer down there. Wow Greens got smashed, then again so did SU and SO with SU only won 1 of 3. Sutho Manly normally strong clubs have started off with no wins.
