Decent result. Surely the Matildas should be aiming for Semis minimum in the next WC

Sammy Kerr. What a gun. Real test will be against the seppos though. Will be interesting to see if they've improved since the Algarve cup.

+xI've not seen any. 1:0 Matildas via an own goal. No steam in Australia siphoned off by Fox. Btw WSF asked you about Patrick Ziegler in the WS Wanderers thread. Quality wise.

+xThailand definitely improving across the board at club and international level. First time I ever left Australia was to watch Chonburi v Victory in 2008. Been to that lovely country many times since. Football is huge there. Kids playing it in every alley no matter the heat. Ads starring European and their national team stars everywhere you look. The most recent trip was when their young national team coach had Ange in his pocket in the WCQs, sadly he has since been fired. The club and national team footballing potential of Thailand is huge. We should feel privileged to be a part of the sleeping giant of football that is South East Asia, but the FFA has seemed to prefer to treat this literal gold mine to our north like an inconvenience.

Shame the girls lost, they played well to get the 2 goal lead but the lack of conditioning really showed in the second half, hopefully the full time environment will help them get better in that regard.
