+xI love the Australia cup I really hope people can get around it this year Best comp we have in Australian football imo, a true representation of what the sport actually looks like in this country at club level. Have always thought the fa should be doing more to really push the cup as the premier club completion. Given the logistical difficulties of a truly national open pyramid, the cup format is probably the best way to do it

correct Glenardo. It should recieve alot more exposure and I suspect the FA only tweek something come R32 with the AL Clubs coming in unless I'm mistaken. Many of those supporters need to realise to support football in this country is get down to local Clubs once in a while, helps with crowd figures and the game.

+x+x+xAustralia Cup – New South Wales round 7 draw result: Rockdale City Suns v Phoenix APIA Leichhardt Tigers v Marconi Stallions Inter Lions v Blacktown City Sydney Olympic/NWS Spirit v Sydney United with four winners advance to Australia Cup national round of 32. Wow, So APIA v Marconi and Olympic v Sydney Croatia( more than likely) .. very tasty NST preludes coming up up there. The bar has been set at 6,400 attendance on a mid week cold night, surely Sydney football crowd will beat that easily considering there are no gay AFL Melbournians to spoil the party? Surely? Mate I’d love for a huge crowd unfortunately the clubs are not doing anything to promote themselves so I think we will be lucky to get 1.5 maybe 2k if they push it I’ll be happy with 2 and half for a mid week cup game . It’s upsetting and disappointing the clubs need to be doing more in the community. This is a good chance man. I reckon alot of eyes were on South v Preston in OUR circles... I hope the Italian derby is a HUGE one.

Good haha. I mean finals are fun, but once everything is aligned, with the Australia Cup, there's no need for finals anymore. We don't need to cater to having a grand final winner every year just because we're Australia. Sporting seasons can still exist as a playout of the whole season. V8 Supercars doesn't have a grand final.... no, they still use a season long points structure, as is the norm for championships worldwide (except for stupid NASCAR)

However, next year's Australia Cup could be a springboard for greater exposure of football at the lower levels. Imagine bringing in 12 ALM and 12 NST teams at the plus 104 other teams at the 128 Rd. Or even 12 NST teams at that round and the ALM added at the R64.

Do junior teams from the same club watch the senior team play? If not that's probably where you wanna start encourage the junior, youth, the women's team, the dad's club, walking etc to watch the seniors.
Then you need to promote yourselves around the local businesses. The qualifiers should aim for for 1-2k depending on the club then the Rd of 32 every club should want to get at least 5k hopefully we can get there one day

MCG, not sure you played as a kid onwards. Even back in my youth days there was always a group of us + others who would get back to the local field and watch the Snr games, 1 and 3pm koffs. As time progressed with academies, YL etc I've always seen Club management encourage Jnrs supporting their Club big boys play. Many are ball boys/girls, mascots etcetc from way back. So some young fams are always there. In some other socials I frequent depending the Club some supporters nark up how some Clubs are quite agressive how they request for Jnrs to support. Its all in the delivery I suppose. Ofcourse the Clubs do alot around the local business community and surrounds, hence where alot of the sponsership comes from. Totti10 is right, Raciti is so so passionate for the Club, infact 45yrs as Prez incl the Jnrs, got to admire anyone who serves so much of their time to a Club, we always need football loving people running our game.

+xSydney Olympics season just got worse. Knocked Out of the cup by spirit 2 seasons in a row they are meh and with the squad they have is pretty ordinary. I have a friends son in the squad, needs to get out of there imo. Spirit are PL2 standard but a well run Club, as they say Cupset ! Good on them, playing SU next will sort them out ! Wonder what the crowd was like at the Lions BC game. Looking forward to next rounds games.

I think Apia can rest a few as they play CCM academy. Marconi on the other hand have league leader Rockdale. Can’t wait for Tuesday

except Wednesday June 19th likely will be getting banished given the fact that's the official confirmed date for national round of 32 draw as per Football West article few weeks ago on Tuesday May 14th. https://www.footballwest.com.au/news/ashfield-meet-sorrento-australia-cup-full-wa-quarter-final-draw
