Going to balance out but if only....Rugby 7s, Men's 400m, women's 100m free, women's medley relay. How I wish Australia had won all of those too to see how the medal table would look.

+xA golden half hour for Australia with the men's skateboarding and men's team pursuit. Such a tense final against GB but Australia in decent control. GB were catching in the final 1000m but they had a rider slip up on the final round which might have meant a 2 rider finish is illegal. Australia most probably would've won by the barest of margins. Women's pole vault looks promising. Yer great results - back to back in the skateboarding that’s pretty damn awesum actually ! Great team pursuit go you good thing Aussies. Won the sailing as as well.

That's much fairer as I thought it was you had to win the medal race to secure gold, despite having dominated the early races by a big margin.

Australia USA men's waterpolo quarters to go to pens. Australia came back to lead by 1 with 60 sec to go but USA scored to make it 7:7.

USA win on penalties. That's so gutting after getting so far in a tough group.

+x3 golds today to equal our record any events to watch out for where we can beat our record? Women's pole vault we lead with 5 athletes remaining. Aus rank 1 in foul countback I believe. Next height due to start. Massive throw in men's discuss and currently 2nd after 2 throws each. Quite a few who are some metres off after 2 throws suggesting lower ability or form. Watch this space.

https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024/results/athletics/women-s-pole-vault/fnl-000100--Nina Kennedy the only one to have cleared 4.85 with a single attempt so she ranks highest on countback. Should everyone fail at 4.90 she'd still win but someone will surely clear the next height. Czech and Swiss hopefully to miss their 3rd attempts here then the competition can race to a swift end. https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024/results/athletics/men-s-discus-throw/fnl-000100--Chasing pack not touching 2nd just yet. Lithuanian with an OR throw so he'll be hard to beat.

Bronze guaranteed in pole vault and they're going for 4.90 now. USA and Canada first attempts an X. YES!! Kennedy clears 4.90 first try. The others will need to clear 4.95 in fewer attempts to win gold. Driver's seat but not over.

The American is skipping and going for 4.95.
Now the Jamaican has come from nowhere throwing an OR. Lithuanian going again. He broke his dad's OR.

Bronze in men's discuss.
Stream showing snippets of Pole Vault. Silver guaranteed now. American trying her 2nd attempt for 4.95 to jump and take the lead. Really want that gold.

+x+xGold in women's pole vault. 4th of the day! is that the best day ever? It is our best tally ever We either won 3 or 4 one day in Tokyo. We've cracked the most gold. 17 in Athens and Tokyo now 18. Law of averages but bloody hell there were some early stuff ups too. Hard to grasp given the misses but we've picked up so many elsewhere. Good chances in some cycling, women's water polo, maybe a shock in women's 1500m.

Excellent chances in Kayak racing.
Apparently a very good chance in women's weightlifting at 4pm CET on Saturday.
24 hours until our two boxing semis with bronzes the minimum guaranteed.
Forgot about women's beach volleyball semi. Maybe a surprise in marathon swimming the nest 2 days.
Women's water polo semi against USA tomorrow and women's basketball semi against USA Friday night.

Been an epic eve morning for us here that’s for sure. To think we’re 27M and so diverse across so many sports it’s amazing results considering so so many don’t have a lot of funding. Gonna say a kudos that some may object to but the money Ol Gina has thrown in to swimming and other codes well done. I read she booked a couple of boats for the many athletes who didn’t attend opening ceremony. Many swimmers acknowledge her without her support it wouldn’t be happening as much re their careers. She welcomed each athlete as they boarded.

How's the 14 year old skater? She's just so lovely. Paraphrasing here. Eddie asked her what is she going to get for winning a gold medal and she said 'I want a pet duck.' And what are you going to do with a duck ? Take it for a walk and down to the skate park. Hahaha. How sweet.

Silver in men's 4 kayak by 0.04 sec to Germany. Damn. Highly favoured to win that. Silvers are still great but the golds keep the ranking stronger.

The biggest criticism of the Algerian is she looks like a man. These women in the weightlifting would give her a run for her money.

YESSSS! Australia win the semi against USA in women's water polo on pens. 5-5 then saved the 6th! Silver guaranteed but we want gold.#
Hull excellent 1500m semi final. Absolute machine in final 300m which bodes well for final. Should be able to get top 5 if not bronze but the Kenyans look poised.
Germany with a shocking evening with men's hockey losing the final on pens and basketball out to France in semi. Maybe something in women's long jump.

Charlie Senior loses boxing semi but gets a bronze. Felt he landed good blows while the Uzbek just danced around and ran away most of the time.
Caitlin Parker in ring in 10.
Thrilling beach volleyball semi on.

Wouldn’t be surprised - I’ve missed seeing the weight lifting tbh. yer EPIC waterpolo win - talk about at the death eh. Yanks would be spewing after all their wins well done girls awesum result ! yes bummer about the beach volleyball - was close. I think any medal no matter the colour is a bonus now and good luck in the remaining events it’s been a great Paris for us.

If you think that's the biggest criticism, then either you're just following bogans, or you're missing the forest for the trees. The biggest criticism is the sport's governing body have run genetic tests and banned athletes from their competitions, but the IOC allows them in to the Olympics. Granted, yes.. the results of these tests can be explained as natural circumstances (chromosome disorders, etc - but I don't believe this has been confirmed yet...), but ultimately this whole thing comes down to IOC and Sporting Orgs not being able to do something consistent.
