Nandos is quite good, but apparently they going to stop making them halal, so it will be once les option for me when I go out. Lucky this new place opened up near the city. Bit of a drive from home though.

Which Nandos was it?

Nandos Calamvale. But I don't think it was undercooked. It was probably because it was left unrefrigerated from about lunch time yesterday till 7pm last night. It was in an Indoor Centre which was ridiculously hot.

It's definitely not as good as it used to be.

Yeah I know. I only realised it was that one after I ate it of course. I didn't even think at the time I was eating it.




Well. Nandos Australia has been bought over by the UK Nandos. They want to change everything here apparently. They starting by doing away with Halal, and apparently looking to introduce Bacon and Alcohol in all their restaurants.

...and? That doesn't have anything to do with the sliding quality of their food and service.

Well, it could. New owners come in and want to change the way things are done. They've changed the sauces now twice. They also have changed their meat supplier in most of the stores and hope to have it done nationally by January.

I had Nando's a couple weeks back, and their 'Hot Sauce' isn't as hot as it used to be. They seem to be going down the Oporto path of wimping down the hot stuff.

Yeah. I got told by a mate who used to be the franchisee of the Oporto Store in Balmain that the reason why Oporto's "legendary sauce, with irresistible force" got wimped down to nothing more than spicy ketchup was because some lady got a allergic reaction from the chilli sauce. Apparently there wasn't enough bullshit about 'chilli sauce actually being hot!" She took them to court over it and won a settlement.


I suspect Nando's are doing the same thing to cover their own arses. It's people like that woman who make me ragequit in society. Same shit is going with Subway, although I'm fairly sure their 'chilli sauce' is watered down Masterfoods chilli sauce. Had the same issue a couple weeks back when I got 'Habenero Sauce' on a burrito I bought from Mad Mex in the city. Fairly sure they just now re-lable 'Habenero Sauce' as 'Jalapeno Sauce' :roll:

I understand that, we in theory should pay our respects to both of them. However, my gripe is about people garnering support/popularity on social media by making note of something different.
