From memory sega had a version. When you crashed on sega rather than re spawn you had to find your bike. Made crashing way worse

Im 33 my first gaming experience was my uncles commodore 64. I wanted one for xmas and got pissed off when I opened my present and saw what I thought was a vcr, turned out to be a Nes lol

It was a good game, I liked road rash jailbreak more. Had an awesome soundtrack as well.

Two more classics, Simpsons hit and run and Crash Bandicoot.

H2 was good but severely flawed lol.

Perfect Dark was one of the best shooters ever made.

So many modern FPS games, modes etc can be tracked back to PD and the N64.

Going up against Dark Sims with Laptop Guns on was pure madness.

Those purp 64's are worth shit loads now if they're still in good nick.

As for the limited edition Cube, I always wanted to buy one of these back in the day (Panasonic Q aka GameCube + DVD player);

Also a shame the 64DD never got off the ground.

Had they not fucked around they could have had a real competitor to the PS1 in terms of disc based games for a fair whack before the PS2 came along.

I don't know if its just nostalgia, but I feel like gaming really peaked around Halo 3. I remember 2 years after launch there'd still be times when over a million people were online.

Just don't get that these days with the rise of PC gaming (less of a niche market now) and how many AAA fps there are.

More to do with the likes of Activision pushing out the same shit every year (Call of Duty) and not doing anything to advance the genre. EA is now doing that as well.

PC wasn't really niche back then either. I built my first PC when I was about 10 out of dead/old/recycled bits and played all the old classics on it :)

Don't know if its just the fact that I'm getting older but yeah, I feel like there has been a real drop off in quality with a lot of modern games today. The only game I can think of that has really stood out was Demon Souls. I really thought that game was innovative one of my all time favourite games.

Only if you play Mario Party. They last forever if you steer clear of the Party.
