sydneycroatia58 wrote:So today Blacktown and Sydney United both missed gilt edged opportunities to go to the top of the table. With Sydney United drawing 1-1 with West Sydney Berries at home while Blacktown drew 2-2 with newcomers Rockdale City.
Manly got their season back on track weth a comfortable 3-0 win over APIA. While Sydney Olympic continued their poor start to the season drawing 2-2 with Bankstown. the match highlights are up on youtube. sydney united got robbed big time, IMO we had a clear shout for penalty when glavas was brought down...the berries player didnt even make contact with the ball... but then again we should of berried the game in the first half.
Not a Phase, Not a Trend, SYDNEY UNITED till the END!

Sutherland Sharks 1-1 Bonnyrigg White Eagles.
Marconi 2-1 APIA
So second draw in a row for Bonnyrigg moves them to 2nd on 8 points while Marconi move to 1st on 10 points with Blacktown and Sydney United behind them on 7. Blacktown play Sydney Olympic tomorrow and Sydney United are at home to South Coast Wolves.

I'd say around 4-500 since the Italians don't really care about Marconi anymore.

Sydney Olympic 1-4 Blacktown City Demons:lol:
So Blacktown join Marconi on top on 10 points but go first on goal difference after demolishing Sydney Olympic who's supposed revolution appears to be in tatters.
Sydney United 2-2 South Coast Wolves
So Sydney United go into 3rd place on 8 points after blowing a 2-0 half time lead and a chance to go first](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Manly drew with Rockdale 1-1 and are in 6th place.
Also West Sydney got slaughtered by Bankstown 1-5 which puts them up to 5th place.

That's 2 weeks in a row we've fucked up a chance to go top. Like seriously Marconi are on top #-o Watch we will end up sneaking into the finals and win the comp as underdogs:lol: We don't like being favourites

OLYMPIC PROVING WHO THEY ARE Crowds don't mean shit when you can't win. 1 win in 4 games for a 'massive' club like Olympic is fucking pathetic. Are these fans gonna come back after you blokes miss out on the semis once again lol.

solympic wrote:rockdale and manly will be the turn around for us everyone loves a comback champ You're right on that everyone loves a comeback just to bad no one will be seeing your comeback since there won't be one. As a fan I'd rather my team on top from start to finish then get me nervous by trying to come from behind. Which a lot of the time leads to disappointment. Monie striking for the semi-finals 23.03.10 10:23
Sydney Olympic strike James Monie (centre) shown in action against the Sutherland Sharks in 2010 of the NSW Premier League season Sydney Olympic's 27-year old striker James Monie believes the opening fixtures to this season's NSW Premier League where they have pitched up against Sutherland Sharks, Bankstown City Lions and Sydney United will stand them in good stead for the campaign. “We didn't really have our full squad available until the first match of the season with new players coming in and a few injuries so we hadn't really had any time on the training pitch together.
"We've also got a few of the lads coming back from the A-League National youth teams who will be pushing for first team spots so there is a healthy rivalry for places at the moment and that's not a bad thing."
Matthew Mayora, Olympic's main striker, had a fantastic campaign in 2009 and is again up front this year but as Monie points out; "The service into the front two has been very good so far and there is plenty of goals in this team but where we've really stepped up is the fact that our defence has tightened up a lot and we are conceding far less than in recent times.
"In our match against Sydney United, one of the benchmark teams for 2010, we played well but in saying that we probably created more chances but didn't take as many but it's when we are not creating them that it becomes a worry.
"The more we create the more we will take over the course of matches and the confidence the back four and 'keeper are giving us it allows us to play a more attacking brand of football and we all want to make the semi-finals places at the very least.
"It's not just for the club and fans but the players really want to do well too and we would all feel disappointed if we don't make the semis at the very least and the old cliché is, of course, it's too early to tell but we are feeling good and improving with each match so who knows?"
Slipping under most critic's radar, perhaps this could be Olympic's year?
