I know that the UK have stadiums less than 10000 (but not many) but yet again Australia are that many times larger than the UK.
blah, blah, blah? HUH? we have a larger land mass but a much much smaller population. The B-League would only aim to draw around 3-5k supporters, so large stadiums would be an eyesore and a drain on the finances.

This B league won't happen. The A League should expand to a good 15 teams, then they should keep it for a few seasons and then think about a new league. If the B league was going in next season it would be the most rubbish professional football league in the world, because A League players aren't that good either.
1. The level of football would be very amateur
2. Would fans be bothered to go across Australia to watch amateur players? No.
3. Funding would all go to the A League
4. No new talent would erupt there because it's easy enough for players to make it in the A League
5. People very disinterested
6. Only Australian players because foreign players wouldn't bother
7. Global knowledge- very very low. Everyone knows about the Championship, French Ligue 2, Serie B, Liga 2 in Spain, etc. Even the US don't have a 2nd tier, (or if they do no one knows about it). Hardly anyone knows about the A League
8. Sponsorship would probably the local butcher shop (okay exaggerating a little) but you get what I mean.
Enough???

lol at this thread. This is the rumour mill not the enchanted forest.
Remember in the old FIFA games with no A-League when u could rename clubs in the English Championship so you would form the Australian league and change the kits etc? You would always have to make up some some new teams to fill all the extra spots and you end up with a fantasy league. 9/10 on creativity and productivity in your spare time, but 0/10 on the way you have dealt with the obvious criticism that was inevitably going to come your way with such a fanciful 'rumour'

well this was a good funni story, no salary cap ay, so if they ever get promoted they would really need to get rid of half there time to fit under the a-league cap, yer mad idea, but thanks for the laugh anyway,

Point 1 and 3 didn't apply to the Kingz. Point 2 should be point 1 then. No Rufers = Kingz fail Although the Kingz were more 'successful' than the Knights, I agree. But hardly. I have fond memories of the Kingz beating Marconi Stallions at the cake tin in Wellington in front of a sizeable crowd.

Proud2BeCanberran wrote:Auckland United will not work. We tried Auckland in the A-league and they were getting crowds as low as 1K. Why would the same team in a second tier competition get 4 times more? Yes maybe football in NZ has taken off recently, with World Cup qualification and Wellington going reasonably but this is being way too optimistic. I think definitely a new team in New Zealand but not in Auckland. Christchurch? The only reason it didnt work was because, 1) They were full of old has-beens and little known australians (who were nobodies in NZ) 2) As soon as they lost the Rufers, they lost all promise and went down hill hard 3) They were pretty much shit from the start Alots changed since the Phoenix and I reckon with things the way they are now it would be a bit different. They wouldnt be as big as the Phoenix though but would provide a good second tier squad for NZ and provide a great team for aspiring 'up and commers'. The current Auckland City NZFC franchise would be comfortable and compeditive in a B-league in my opinion. But yeah if anyone were to ruin it, it would be the Auckland public. Theyre a bunch of no shows. Fucking jaffas...

Once you bring in a kiwi team, everyone wants a bite of the Apple.
Lets just merge the A-League and CSL then shall we. There is a video clip I think on TWG about this, they have major backing from French investors, they're ready to roll and they are serious. Found it http://player.sbs.com.au/theworldgame#/twg_08/ALeague/A-LeagueNews/playlist/A-League-Pacific-Plan

Run it in line with the State Leagues;
3 NSW teams 3 Victorian teams 2 Queensland teams 1 Northern Territory Team 1 W.A Team 1 S.A Team 1 Tasmanian Team
Pooled for the first year from the top teams in the state league based on ladder and reflective of there representation in the league.
No promotion as of this moment but relegation for the bottom 2/3 teams who will be replaced by the winners of the State League they are from.
Broadcast hopefully on ABC or SBS. Major sponsor that can be on all shorts of all the teams.

It is NOT financially viable right now for a B-League. That's the simple fact. All it's do would be to destroy the competition. Like adding an extra floor to the aluminium tin shed out the back.. it would just collapse.

Rumours have it that its complete BULLSHIT...
The FFA should forget about this untill the a-league is upto a high stadnard, where each team attracts crowds over 10k to every match, when each team makes money instead of losing... plus the league needs to be expanded to 16 before any of this BOLLOCKS...

Um, why would they have a team based in Richmond/Gippsland. If this was legit then neither of these locations would get an individual team and if it was a combined bid then it would just be fail.
I give your terrible trolling efforts 2.5/10
