Should have praised him while he was thinking about the contract. Works quite well if you're the first team to make an offer for him.

Yeah what afro said, I had a contract offer going for Moutinho and then City came in with more so I praised him ALOt and he took my offer. Mata can be brought pretty cheap in FM, I got him for 5 mil the two times I have signed him and he is well worth it

Start of Man City 2nd season and Robinho has requested a transfer, should I let him go and sign a replacement?

No point him hanging around and being unhappy and hurting team morale. You'd probably get some decent coin depending how long his contract has to go.

Has anyone used Insua from Liverpool, thinking of signing him but just wanted to check how he goes

Well...if you can get good dosh for him, yeah. But being Man City yourself, you don't have man city to suck in to paying too much for him. In terms of replacements, look at Balotelli, Vela, Laurito (highly recommended), Giovinco, Mata or Di Maria depending on what position you use Robinho in most. Quote:Has anyone used Insua from Liverpool, thinking of signing him but just wanted to check how he goes He's alright if you're buying to sell. If you want quality, Omar Eparza, Vargas @ Fiorentina, Bale, Antonio Lopez and Lahm are choice left backs.

After signing Laurito on a free has broke his leg and tore his calf three times. Shame seeing as he has been fantastic in the few matches he's played.
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Once a player tears a calf muscle a second time, I sell him. Torn calf muscle is an 'old mans injury' and if they get two they're going to get more.

I don't want to sell him because he is a perfect impact/bench player when fit and he doesn't seem to mind that at all

Luckily I havnt had any players at Plymouth having a cry about not having enough game time.
Haris Medunjanin, after a horrible start, has turned into the signing of the season! Highest rating in the CCC, and 8 goals in 15 games from midfield.
Good thing too, he was my record signing at 500k.

I hate it when players that are being used in a rotation bitch about not getting enough game time. Especially when their squad status is set to 'rotation'.

Even worse when you SIGN them on a rotation or backup contract and they still bitch. They knew what they were signed for but they still complain.

Finished my second season in the EPL with Leeds, finished 8th and im very happy with that. Scott Carson got player of the year with an average rating of 8.1, yet he still cant make the England squad. Thinking about signing Vincent Kompany to strengthen my defence

Started playing FM10 briefly last night and this morning, I have started a game with Barnet in the English League 2, I am going to try and work them back up to the EPL like I did on 09 before my computer died on me. Started with a 40K (AUD) transfer budget have signed 6 players and still have a 40K budget.... Gotta love free transfers at this level... :) MEdia prediction is 19th am yet to play a game but I have strengthened my squad considerably so relegation shouldnt be an issue (I hope!!!)

Yeah i bought FM2010 yesterday, its pretty cool, A-League seems a bit better but still a little wacky. It acknowledges who your marquee is this time round, i think the squad size is supposed to cover your youth team too but it seems a little weird, also some random players set as transfer-listed, eg at Victory Kemp, Celeski and Pondeljak are listed. Got Dario Vidosic in for 16K pounds, i think thats a must buy for this league. Ill have to really play it a bit more after cricket tonight before i can say for sure whats better/worse.
