Just went 2-0 down against Blackburn. Cardozo scores for us to give us a chance just before the half. Two Gerrad goals in two minutes just after the half gets us back in front and then Jovetic seals it in th 86th minute. :)

Hehe I started this season with a transfer budget of 40K (AUD)... Used none of it - just moved it straight onto the wage bill and signed players on free...

Hahah at Plymouth they said I would have 300k, but when I went there, it was 31.7k or something. :lol:

I got 40 million at Leeds in the championship, and now where in the EPL its about 60-70 million each year

Started an FM game with no real players..... fucking 'Pool have a whole first squad of international players and the 5 highest valued players in the game. It is ridiculous. If they don't do the double it will be the biggest choke since the Eels in 2001.

How do you start a game with no real players?

Start a new game and uncheck the Use Real Players box

:lol: Fair enough. I never realised that option. That would be very good to try actually.

When I can be bothered I am considering starting a game where everyone is on a free to see what squad I could put together and to see what the other squads end up looking like

Doing the 'no real players' option is really hard. You HAVE to have a really strong scouting network and have to have your best scout scouting opposition. It's amazingly difficult. More so than when you get regens fifteen seasons into the game because you've had time to suss them out, here you're thrown in the deep end. I quite enjoyed it the last time I did it. I might do it again some time.

They spent 55m in mine on: Navas (17.5), David Alaba (4.9), Giuseppe Rossi (14) and Vucinic (18.75).

Chelsea have spent 29m.
Man City 40m (including 20m on me :))
Spurs and arsenal spent fuck all.
And Portsmouth are bottom of the table. They've conceded 12 goals in the opening 3 games.

Up to 16 Jan 2010 in my Barnet game on FM10 so far we have played 26 games and I am sitting top with 59 points - 11 points clear of second place. If we manage to hold this kind of form it will be a surprise promotion to league 1. Managed to sign a few good league 1/2 midfielders in the Jan transfer window so that will hopefully do us for the rest of the season and help us avoid the bottom spots next season...

How do you make all the players on a free?

In the editor... Well thats how you did it in 09, have had a good look at the editor in FM10 yet...

Yeah what Blackroz said, Ive only had a brief look at the editor but when creating a new database there is an option to have all players start on a free

That would be very interesting as well. It'd be mad fun in the A-League. Once Christmas comes and I get used to FM10 I'll give the use no real players a go as well as start on frees.

I've got to try that some time...There are so many players I could recruit to the a-league. And I'd never have to field allsopp or thompson again!

Me and Fredsta have both started up a new game where all players are on a free. Will put full team up wehn it is done but so far it contains the likes of Essien, Marcano, Santon, Mattock, Veloso, Beckham(:lol:), Rooney, Akinfeev, Beevers, Delfouneso, Di Maria, Walcott. Hoping to get more like Benzema, Torres, Ribery, Ronaldo (when fit) and Chivu (when fit) and Vidic should be about to join.
This is gonna be fun :D

What team did you start with

Well fredsta created his own team but it didn't work so I didn't bother either and we both went with Manchester united.

Finished my first season with Barnet in FM10 - won the league 2 on 90 points. My striker finished with 47 goals and 9 assists with an avg rating of 7.48... Now I can get rid of the remainder of the deadwood and look to consolidate in league 1. :)

Silva has made three appearances with four gaols but then got injured, Di Maria stepped up and was execllent, getting a few assists but he too got injured. Gareth Barry who was signed to add some Brits to the squad has surprised me with three goals in as many appearances and Torres and Rooney look to have formed a great partnership but Torres also got injured. A benefit of starting on a free is that the players dont ask for high contracts really, most of that squad was asking for back up wages when they would have asked for wages at least four times what they are getting now in any other circumstances. With a wage budget of 1.7 mil I still have 1.2 mill left

Just quickly, where's the challenge in this game if you can build your dream team from the start?

I'd pick every good player and own. If I lost a game I'd quit.
