I'm sticking with my analysis of Pim as a guy who picks a number on the roulette wheel and won't change until it comes up or he goes broke.
If he gets lucky, he's a genius. And this period of Australian football will be seen as a continuation of the Golden Age begun when we qualified for 2006.
If not, he'll soon be forgotten, and this period will be seen as a time when we squandered the talent of that 2006 team without nurturing any new stars.
FWIW I hope he wins, but it's a bloody tough group. Focussing on defence is not such a bad idea under the circumstances, however much we might hate watching it over and over.
In the end, however, only results matter. That's a coach's life.
